He's already 29 years old and he hasn't played baseball in 11 years, since his senior year of high school. I don't care how good an athlete he is or how much untapped potential he has - even if he truly has the innate ability to play baseball at that level, a conservative estimate of how long it would take him to have a shot at the big leagues is three years. How much time and resources would teams be willing to invest in a guy whose best case scenario would be as a 32 year old rookie?

NL scout on gave serious praise to Tim Tebow, "That raw power is irreplaceable," asked him to grade his power, "80"
I like Tebow - I think his image has been hijacked by certain groups (ESPN among them), driving a level of fame disproportionate to his success, but he never struck me as a bad guy - actually, the opposite seems more likely.
But why not play football - he could be a fullback or an H-back on an NFL roster is pretty short order, given his skill set. If he wants to be a pro athlete, that seems the path of least resistance.
X1000. For the team it's all about the gate/sales. You don't have to share minor league jersey sales with the rest of the league so for say the Rays or whomever it might be a nice little "bonus" $$.
I'd have expected better than 40 arm.

That's what I was thinking too
LOL great comp.
If his swing is as long as his throwing mechanics, he's gonna be a strikeout machine.
