Fuckin rain
B in ALB : 8/30/2016 10:09 pm : link
Tanaka most likely done. Into the shitass middle of the BP. Lucky cunts in KC.
At least the 3rd time we've been screwed

let the fellas get some rest and drink some Boulevards after its called.
The Nova to Pirates deal
JPinstripes : 8/30/2016 10:42 pm : link
completed today.

Yankees get LHP Stephen Tarpley and OF Tito Polo (great name).

Both players are at high A. Tarpley is a lefty that tops out at 96 and Polo has a lot of tools and hits from the right side.

Not bad at all.
Snippets on the prospects.

Del Shofner : 8/30/2016 10:55 pm : link
"So, all told, the Yankees acquired 12 prospects and Adam Warren in exchange for Nova, Carlos Beltran, Aroldis Chapman, and Andrew Miller. Three of the 12 are top 100 caliber prospects (Clint Frazier, Gleyber Torres, Justus Sheffield) and the rest are quality second and third tier pieces. Very nice deadline haul, I’d say."
My only concern is that they are both eligible for the Rule V draft.
yatqb : 8/30/2016 11:11 pm : link
I'd have loved the trade if the Pirates would have had to protect these guys and they came to the Yanks after that draft. We've got a lot of guys to protect and I'm guessing that it will be hard for us to fit all of our prospects who need to be protected onto our 40 man roster.
Awful to come away from that with no runs.
yatqb : 8/30/2016 11:19 pm : link

1 for 12
section125 : 8/30/2016 11:21 pm : link
with RISP...not the way to beat KC.
Warren kinda stinks
Kyle in NY : 8/30/2016 11:30 pm : link
can't put hitters away

Although it'd be nice if our guys could consistently get runners in from third with less than 2 out.
another rain delay game
section125 : 8/30/2016 11:31 pm : link
thrown away..Warren crapping the bed for, what?, the 3rd straight time?
Warren
Marty866b : 8/30/2016 11:31 pm : link
Now we see why the Cubs gave him back.
Awful Castro error
Kyle in NY : 8/31/2016 12:03 am : link
likely takes Clippard out of the 7th and means Betances has to get 6 outs
Is it safe to say EVERYONE now hates Castro as much
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/31/2016 12:03 am : link
as Mook does? Over the past 5 days, there's been an alarming number of balls hit in his direction that don't turn into outs.

Clippard saves his ass though.

Delly will go for 6 outs.
I hate Castro
Phil in LA : 8/31/2016 12:09 am : link
as much as Mook does.
Castro, Headley, Gardner, McCann, Green, all of them
DennyInDenville : 8/31/2016 12:15 am : link
Have a 50% chance of being dumped off in trades this offseason.

Not too worried about the 40 man

Plus Teix retiring
Cessa is a bright spot in the rotation tho
DennyInDenville : 8/31/2016 12:16 am : link
I really think he can be that solid number 3/4 pitcher next year
Leaving Clipp in to face at least both or one of the Royals' best
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/31/2016 12:18 am : link
hitters? I don't love that strategy. I would go to Delly and let him face Cain & Hosmer.
And Clippard walks Cain...
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/31/2016 12:22 am : link
hopefully Girardi's stupidity won't come back to bite them in the ass.

Delly in.
Girardi botched that one a bit

Game tied.
shockeyisthebest8056 : 8/31/2016 12:28 am : link
Girardi... I just don't know what the fuck he was thinking.
Yep, Girardi botched it
bceagle05 : 8/31/2016 12:30 am : link
but we should've blown this open hours ago. Frustrating.
Wouldn't it be better
Kyle in NY : 8/31/2016 12:30 am : link
to have Severino here for the bullpen instead of useless pitchers like Shreve or Parker?
Betances cruises through that inning
Kyle in NY : 8/31/2016 12:31 am : link
if he's allowed to start it. Girardi used to have a pretty good touch with the pen but it's been mostly crap since he lost the luxury of Miller and Chapman
Betances retires all 6 batters he faces.

Not any good ones. I'm really curious if Betances said he couldn't go any more or if it was Joe's call. 22 pitches, it really seemed like he could get 3 more outs. Regardless, this isn't one for the managerial highlight reel
Shreeve??
DennyInDenville : 8/31/2016 1:18 am : link
Awful.

I woulda rolled the dice with Heller

Shreeve is so awful.

Gosh please ground into a Dp
Nice K Shreeve

Lol wow
Kyle in NY : 8/31/2016 1:24 am : link
Incredible escape. Nice redemption for Shreve. Love the composure from Sanchez behind the plate too.

Definitely saved what slight hope there is for the wild card there.
maybe this gets Shreeve going again
DennyInDenville : 8/31/2016 1:24 am : link
That's gotta boost his confidence in that spot, wow.

Way to get out of that one

Winning another series would be awesome.
Game of the year
adamg : 8/31/2016 1:31 am : link
as far as battling and persevering goes for this team. With them all being young that makes this extremely important as they develop.

I can't believe we're still in this race and looking so impressive.
Shreve looked vintage
adamg : 8/31/2016 1:33 am : link
And Heller battled in a tough spot. Growing pains for Heller but that strikeout was fantastic.
Great win

I don't love Castro either. He's an OK player but he kind of reminds of me of some of the OK players on those early 90s Yankees teams that in the end needed to be replaced---Roberto Kelly, Jessie Barfield..etc.
