Roster Cuts...

Bluesbreaker : 8/30/2016 9:23 pm
A couple of players that were cut could help us or at the very least tryout ...
Patrick Lewis Center Seattle'
John Sullivan Center Vikings
Nik Jacobs TE Jaguars
I don't even know what the plan is and if any one os them
are Better players than the current 75 but I think we
could use a Back up Center at the very least .
...

i know this sounds bad, but i would grab some free agent OL and see what they have...it cannot hurt, maybe we find a gem
Sullivan is coming off back surgery
PEEJ : 8/30/2016 9:26 pm : link
so health is a question mark.
I still think we are fine at te
superspynyg : 8/30/2016 9:27 pm : link
We have Tye for between the 20's and Donnell for the red zone. Plus The rookie te Adams may prove to be a steal in the future.

As crazy as it sounds, Will Johnson is key... He is a good blocked...
We are far

from alright at TE. We need someone who can block. Donnell and Tye are 3rd string on any other team.
Today's cuts
mavric : 8/30/2016 9:42 pm : link
will not be nearly as interesting as the next cuts. Now teams have to dip into their pool of players they'd like to keep, but have to make the hard choice of cutting them. The Giants will lost some quality players as well. Can't fit them all on the practice squad.

As far as the O-line goes - it is a position of need for at least 30 teams. It will be difficult to pick up a gem for the O-line. A solid backup near the end of his career is the most likely scenario. We aren't going to find a Donald Penn or a Zack Martin so don't get your hopes up.

mmm i dunno about that...you can find a solid UDFA who maybe just didnt stick, he comes here and turns out to be something special...
Last year's finish and draft order may give the
NYRiese : 8/30/2016 10:35 pm : link
Giants a slight edge.
Patrick Lewis
Giants_West : 8/31/2016 12:21 am : link
could go a long way towards helping us solidify our Oline depth if he doesn't get any starting offers.

Bonus points if he anyone thinks he has guard upside.
Gettis and Jones
Hilary : 8/31/2016 6:25 am : link
These men cannot play.Giants desperately need a back up center
Patrick Lewis
stretch234 : 8/31/2016 7:12 am : link
Seattle believes so much in him that their starting C is a former RT and LG who was not good and they still did not keep him as a backup.
beatty was probably a better get
Dankbeerman : 8/31/2016 7:59 am : link
then anyone that shakes free. beatty, hart, seymour are ok for depth or to push for time and relagate jerry and newhouse to the bench.

we do need a combo guard/center. easy upgrade over jones/gettis/farell

your point for Seattle is valid but still has no bearing on us. Our backups are horrible. Lewis at least started in the league and can play if needed. He is fine depth and someone we should consider.

You aren't looking for Pro-Bowlers, just guys who have and can still play. Our backups suck.

Anyone not happy with Beatty being signed has not been paying attention to what we have on our Oline.
Björn Werner

cut by the Jags. What a massive bust he's been. He was a top 25 pick a few years ago.
And wasn't he drafted by the Colts?
GuzzaBlue : 8/31/2016 9:26 am : link
That was only a few years ago I believe. Two teams and two cuts in 3 years. Even Kuhn and John Jerry are better than that.

You are correct. He was drafted by the Colts 24th overall in 2013.
