NFT: Thoughts on this FF team? Where do I need improvement?

Josh in the City : 8/30/2016 10:36 pm
Hey guys, just completed my draft in a 12 team league. Had the 3rd pick and looking for some advice going forward. It's .5 PPR and 2 WR, 2 RB, 1 Flex.

QB: Eli Manning
WR: Julio Jones, Doug Baldwin
RB: Eddie Lacey, Lesean McCoy
TE: Delanie Walker
Flex: Donte Moncrief
K: Adam Vinatieri
Def: Seattle
Bench: Frank Gore, Michael Crabtree, Martellus Bennett, Theo Riddick, Victor Cruz

Thoughts?
I think it is a solid team.

I like Riddick and Baldwin this year. I am weary of Moncrief. I don't know if they fixed their OL and with Hilton and Dorsett I don't know who will be getting the majority of targets. I do not like Frank Gor at all in fantasy. As a player he has been remarkable but as a fantasy player I don't really see the value. So, I like your starting lineup but you have to be on top of that waiver wire. Is Sharpe available in your league? I think your overall need is just depth in general. There is another sleeper I want to point out but I have my draft with members of BBI coming up Sunday so I don't want to throw him out there yet.
Solid team

I think RBs are your weakness, not sure why but I'm not sold on either Lacy or McCoy this year. And you don't have much depth at RB, maybe look to trade a WR early on.
There's some good and bad there.

I agree on Gore, not a believer. I also don't know why you'd waste a pick on Cruz. There are a lot of WRs that have bigger sleeper potential, and even if Cruz is healthy, he still has to re-establish himself and carve a big enough role out of the offense with Shepard and OBJ, to be fantasy relevant. There is no guarantee that will happen. Good luck, though. Your receivers do have a chance to be very good. I do think Baldwin will have a good year, but I think you could have had a stronger #2. Not sure Lacey is worth as high a pick as you probably spent on him. But it is a balanced roster, and I think Marty B can be a steal.

Took a flyer on Cruz with my last pick in the draft. I like Lacey and McCoy but I agree I'm lacking in depth. Also expect at least one of Baldwin and/or moncrief to end up as a high end #2 WR. We'll see.
Not bad for 12 team.

I'm not wild on Baldwin. He had 14 td's last year which is a significant career outlier. Even last year, he doesn't get a ton of targets and if the TD volume reverts to the mean he'll be mediocre.

I do like Moncrief, despite the line issues. I think by the end of this year he will be the #1 WR.

I like your RB's overall. Think Lacey bounces back, he's looked great in camp and preseason. Will Karlos Williams gone and the fragile Reggie Bush behind him, Lesean could be poised for a big year.

Bench seems a little weak, although Gore is a solid depth guy. He's been a solid performer but not flashy, but again that OL could be a problem. I get taking a flyer with the last pick, Cruz wouldn't have been my pick but what the hell. I agree with Robbie, Tajae Sharp is a guy to keep in mind.
