That's disappointing.
Evaluating the last spots.
I figured a series. This is better.
Vereen, King, Nassib, Wing, Kennard and Collins are the captains. Almost-Giant Devin McCourty reps the Pats.
Malcolm Butler all over Cruz.. Zero seperation, Butler didn't even have to turn his head to deflect that.
I thought he was saving it for the season?
Guys just getting blown up out there. Pugh blown up the play before.
The starters are not playing. That's Kerry Wynn out there.
Backup D!
;)
Sounds about right. D looks fast. Not sure if that means anything right now
It was Newhouse's man that sacked Nassib.

Wade Nice Pick ..
LB Sheppard isn't much in coverage thus the hold.
QB Nassib went deep on a timing route and Cruz was there but so was the DB. His second home run ball to Sterling Shepard, well, the ball went out of bounds but Shepard wasn't open.

One of the Patriots beat reporters has speculated this week that he could be a surprise cut because releasing him would save $4.5 million in on the salary cap.
Whoa, Nassib nearly gets killed. This looks like the 2013 line.
Lmao
They love that play. And it never works. NEVER
The blocking is so bad that Nassib was hit in 1 second from the snap, if that. No one touched the guy, loss of 10 yards!!
Oh, and QB Nassib still hasn't looked super sharp. That pass to Donnell was a bit off.
I sure hope the Giants coaches have some creative game planning up their sleeves for this season.

It was Brett Jones at center. Richburg wasn't playing. But that play was still unacceptable.
This is a dumb take.
Damn Collins miss an INT again from Brady.
The pass was behind him.
He's had a great pre-season so far IMHO.
But seriously, can we at least get a "drive" together? Is a first down asking too much?
Now we can't let this post go without drawing some attention to it. Please go on.

I hope he has because I liked the kid coming out but last year put a real bitter taste in my mouth. I was mostly just joking about not liking him I just knew it would bring about the butthurt fans who are always so uptight. Haha Anyway he disappoints me alot, seemed like every game last year.
Mostly yes. LB and DL have all been second string.

He was played out of position last year at FS. He has played and will be playing at SS this year. That's where he belongs and I think it already shows.
Watch them call it no catch because the ref is an idiot.

I haven't seen much preseason this year so I haven't watched much of him. As for last year I hate excuses like that even if it is true. Bottom line he was looking like a bust last I say him, I hope for his sake and mine he plays better this year.
It's pretty scary.
Right? Not even close. Bennett was still upright when he lost the ball.

Pats ran pick plays through that whole drive. Bill pulling all the plays out tonight. Two point conversion. He's working on it all. That's HOF coaching there.
He will be a tough cut IMO
Donte Deayon 38 looks lost
Stanley Maponga 71 Does not maintain his lane and allows the QB to get outside the pocket
Accurate. Him in coverage is a mismatch. I'm pretty sure he is a MLB by trade.
I still prefer him over Williams for this offense.

Had to give Golden Boy a good feeling before he takes a powder.
Is there any chance they can cut him. Or would that just be nuts.
Nice 3rd down pick up by Nassib and King.
Nice to see. I can't see this kid not making the roster.
Very similar to Lucky Whitehead of the Cowboys when they run that jet sweep play.
I've never seen anything from Jones to make me think he is an NFL player.

Dave he catches that ball and is straight vertical with his second step. And it's smooth. I like him a lot.
Perkins going to get a scholarship deal I guess because he sure hasn't earned an opportunity based on his play.
Darkwa slowed down Collins on one play for a second. Other than that from Jennings to Vereen and Perkins they have all sucked at pass pro tonight. And I've been watching that aspect as well.

Well, he has been leading the preseason in fumbles.
I was thinking that too.
Getting a look at the kicker since he's playing game 1 at least. Although I would have preferred something for King there. Maybe Darkwa.
My guess is they want to see more of Bullock.
Well, they haven't had many opportunities this preseason to try the field goal operation out because the offense hasn't given them the chance due to their ineptness.
I've never seen anything from Jones to make me think he is an NFL player.
He's too small. You've got to be an excellent player at his size just to be average. The CFL is pretty different for linemen, they can get away with being smaller.
T King is a lock.
Almost like they're inviting bad luck. I don't get it.

Nope, he has an incredible burst and is the best pure rusher on the roster.
lol great job by the refs
LOL
Not so sure that was the total problem. That hand off took too long. Mingo took an inside rush and Hart let him go there. Before the tackle I was thinking, wow why is that handoff taking so long.
He might be the slowest, and he's certainly not a burner. I don't think he's that slow though, he ran a 4.49 at his pro day (slight adjustment since combine times are slower).
I definitely would put him on the bubble. His performance from July to now should earn him that spot.
Agreed.
Cruz had separation. It was underthrown, as usual with Nassib.
Davis slowed down a bit on his route.

The analysis was based on the observation that did not exist in this game. I hope that helps you.
Davis has made the team. King is in desperation mode.
He's not in Jennings league and Perkins will pass him soon.
Quote:
He must be the slowest WR on the team.
He was as fast as King in the 40 and faster in the 20 and the 10, faster in the shuttle and the 3 cone and he is 25 lbs heavier than King. He beats Sheppard in all of those two.

You don't have to sell me. King is simply a journeyman. Always felt that way.
Just seems like on that play it's rather like asking a box truck to win a drag race.

You're right! Darkwa is the best runner they've got. Does he block well or catch well? Don't know, but he is the most instinctive runner on the team.

Crowded area to throw the ball to, and the Safety read the play the entire time. Nassib didn't even see the guy.
That was King's fault. He brought the safety into the play. No way he should have been that close to the route by Dabble. If he breaks inside, the safety has to respect that route.

I never said I played. Did I? You could still clearly see on the replay that a 2nd or 3rd string Safety read Nassib, from one side of the field to the other, and picked him off. For the record, I never said Nassib was alone in fault on the play. Apologies..

King was clearly unsure based on his route - or lack thereof. His job there is to clear the safety. And all that is is getting the safety to break down on his movement to clear the other receiver. I love Shep but he is still a green as grass rookie. He could come in out of the gates running but I wouldn't simply assume that either. King has played in the NFL for a few years and looks very fluid and fast.
Unfortunately after OBJ its a bunch of question marks for various reasons. Saying King could be the 2nd best guy (at least early in the season) is not as far a stretch as you may think.
Pre-season is useful but doesn't mean much for who starts.
Our opening day wideouts will be of course OBJ, Shepard and Cruz....
4th WR could be T. King though.

It is not just that. King may be the fastest WR on our team. His kind of speed changes how teams defend you. He makes one or two plays in the regular season like the play tonight and next thing you know safeties are backing off, it gets easier to run, etc etc

I'd love to get Bennett back instead.
That's all I was thinking about. Herz trying to impress coaches with a cheap hard hit.

Don't get fooled- 29 year old NFL vet playing against guys who will be cut by Friday.
here again .....
Some of the opinions based on a handful of preseason game plays are hilarious.
So, you can't compliment a player for making a good play. Saying "nice play" implies that person thinks that player will make the team?
Christ, this place sucks.
Beautiful

it will be pretty shitty if this guy blows his chance due to an injury from a cheap shot

Yeah, pulling up is easy when you're on the couch
Due to his size, I think he can clear waivers and make it to our PS where he can continue to learn and put on some muscle.
CB: DRC, Jenkins, Apple, Hall, Wade
Safety: Collins, D. Thompson, Thompson, Behre
SS Adams makes it to the PS, Currie may also be PS
Williams got in for two snaps. One he powers through the defense for 7 yards on his own. And on the 2nd he has to key block to let Nassib get the pass off to King for the TD. It was like night and day.

Shepard hasn't shown that much (yet) and Cruz is still an unknown in his recovery.
I wouldn't go by that. If they needed to see more from Shepard, he would be playing more than he has.
There's a reason he's been running with the first team since camp started, and it's not just because of Victor's injury.
King has 2 career catches for 13 yards. He's been on 5 different teams.
I'm just not ready to buy this yet.
lewis has't had much of a chance to show anything ..
I wonder if he makes it ...
haha - were they right about Bobby Hart though?

Have somewhat similar skillsets,Williams is the only "power" back. Just think Darkwa gets caught in a numbers/draft pick game

Yes against guys who will be flipping burgers next week
runs good routes and has Speed ...
Whats not to like ???
I'm stuck watching online. I tried a link with Banks and Papa but the picture is far worse than the ones with Pats coverage.

I think they've mentioned the Giants players about 4 times.

yawn... against the same guys you said Perkins was impressive against except he wasn't and cause him to fumble.
Try again.
Darkwa seems to be the back who most consistently moves defenders backwards and surges through piles... how is he less of a power back than Williams?

Factually incorrect. Other than that.....

okay. sure champ.
Better Runner ...
Better Runner ...
And blocker
I doubt it. Both have been good tonight though.
I strongly disagree. He screwed up a few plays, but he played pretty well. Mingo gave him a hard time, he's very fast.
What he does do is drop back to deep and then sets against a moving target. He's out of his stance quickly but drops back about 3 yds, stops and lets the DE get a head of steam. He's plenty quick for a tackle.
What? Coughlin handcuffed him to sharing time. Only when the season was basically over did the Giants start running the ball well with 1 back. The way it should have been.
Hope he makes it as well.
Also does Andre Williams ever kick it outside
I feel like this would only be a thing if you could argue that there was a better option for his position.
If your concern is speed, I don't think JT Thomas is faster. They have MLBs to spare, but that wouldn't be speed either.

I'm talking about Jameel McClain. One moment he was a guarantee starter doing an interview with Bruce Beck on Thursday about the upcoming season and cut on Saturday.
Yeah the 1st line wasn't too good again.
Yes. He struggled again. I have to admit, I've been in Flowers' corner, but damn, I'm starting to get concerned. I hope he proves us all wrong.
He did (sit) ... Call me characterless but, I don't understand why one would jeopardize future earnings as a spokesman (for whatever - even local markets pay pretty well to big name athletes) - like he did. I don't think he thought it all out. There are other ways to stage a protest without being so polarizing. One freak injury and career over. Even if he retires normally - he still has to find a job after football. I hope he saves his money.
(I guess you could point to Stingily, but Beatty looks like an upgrade anyway.)
Heath Evans
Former FB for the Seahawks, Saints, Dolphins and Patriots
Agreed. That was BS. I turned if off and going to bed. So sick and tired of hearing about the Kaep crap...
I'm really pissed - I watched the game for three hours and
they cutoff the final 2 minutes to show a player siting during the national anthem and then just blabbed on about nothing in particular.
