but he played the run well outside of one play and he drew 2 holding penalties. One of them pushed Dallas back to their own 10. Want to see the sacks though, hopefully we'll see plenty against Brees.
an absolute STUD. he is a full time two way DE. plays well on edge. does a great job with leverage. has a disgusting first step. this kid is worth every dime we gave him. at 25, he is def on the rise. love him. people want to complain about no sacks but understand that was the BEST OL in football lesser OLs will not be able to handle all four of these guys
A ton of pressure applied late and a game changer in the run game. Going against arguably the best LT in football. Very excited to see what this defense becomes after gelling for a few more games.
That contract is still an obscene amount of money but the guy is a player, he's young and his best years are ahead of him and he seems to have good character. I think in hindsight all the hand wringing about the contract will seem much ado about nothing
Stats may not show it, but he was everywhere in the run game, and the pass rush was there all game as well. And this was against the best O Line in the league. Should be fun watching him the next few years.
playing against the best line they will see all year. Started getting pressure late in the game. Bet they were playing the run 1st up til the middle of the 3rd quarter.
Reads plays very well in the very small amount of time he has to do so. Very, very impressive. If today was any indication, and it certainly should be given Dallas' OL, this D is gonna be a straight up bitch to run against.
Stout at the point, quick off the ball, this guy has got it all. I enjoyed watching of our defenders play for the first time in a long while, and that felt great.
when McAdoo ran the ball at the end and put the game in the defenses hands. It showed a lot of confidence, and that the D wasn't like last years (his comments). So the defensive guys know that the D sucked last year. Thats why this stop was so important, to show things had changed.
RE: RE: That play where he tossed Witten then stuffed Elliott
Vernon looks terrific. I did not know much about him when we signed him to all that cash. He holds the edge better than any Giant I have seen in a long time. I remember Osi allowing big run after big run because he would over run the edge trying to get the sack. I like this guy already.
Play the run twice as good as the pass... Not saying they can't put the heat on they just all play the run really really really well. JPP was putting some heat on Dak in the second half. Our 4 can't beat Dallas' 5 though, they have a really good O-Line. Just glad we escaped with the win
We got a fuckin' stud!

Good to know. The D was VERY impressive in the end.
this....
lets hope he stays healthy and plays well all season.
Bingo!
He rag dolled Whitten's ass on that play!

For a loss was beautiful. And Witten is no slouch blocking DEs

He manipsnated Witten quite a few times. That was probably my favorite part of the game was watching Witten p3wned repeatedly by Vernon.
But I lived Vernon today too!
100 yards doesn't mean much if it is accompanied by 30 attempts and the longest run play all day was 13 yards.
He's consistently the worst. To the point where it has to be intentional.
A bit short sited. Read arcarsenal's response
