That's a lot of points against a team with a top flight offense. I investigated, and turns out their defense is in even more trouble than last year's unit.
They just lost Delvin Breaux with a fractured fibula, 2 of their 4 corners are UDFAs, the 3rd is essentially a rookie after being on IR all of last year and their 4th CB was just added today, B.W. Webb.
Just have to pray our additions on defense makes a stand Sunday, because their offense is just as good as last year.
I think the Giants cover.
God, was that 2015 defense a pathetic disgrace.
On a personal note, I might hate the Saints more than any non-diviosnal team. It would be really nice to knock the crap out of them. They've won 5 of the last 7 meetings and all of those were blowouts. Average margin of defeat is 22 points. That Christmas Eve fiasco in 2006 made for a miserable holiday.
Giants have only played the Saints at home once in the last 9 years

I believe you're referring to opening at home against NFC South team, last year was the Falcons.

Says it all
I hate them almost as much as the Eagles, MNF shellacking from 2011 comes to mind. Drew Brees is a phony, Sean Payton's visor annoys me. As George Carlin said, "who the fuck wants to see the top of your head?"
And Minnesota on the road.
Jimmy Graham gave up, Antrel Rolle lit him up on multiple occasions
Defensive lines are probably similar and Saints corners look worse. Our Offense can match theirs (see last year) and our Defense is way improved this go around. I like our chances, but the Saints can force almost anyone into a shoot out.
That's me too
Our secondary can all cover and have legit speed. Snead nor Cooks will be breaking free on go routes. Our secondary will be showcased this weekend, and the results will obviously surprise many on this forum. Brees will not have a clean pocket and his receivers will not easily shake their press coverage.
I believe that the Giants will win by 2 TD's or more.
Their secondary will be manned by PJ Williams who is a 2nd year guy drafted in the third round, and the other top two corners are undrafted free agents.
In other words, start every Giant WR on your fantasy team...
my bad...
A loss to the woeful Saints at home would be a loss you don't take following a big win, if you are a good team.
Same here..more confident in this game than last week. Just feel the giants d is going to pressure brees a lot and forcing quite a few turnovers..i think the giants roll on them here sunday
Hes good..but on road hes sometimes not the same qb
If this was November or December when it might be cold and windy, I'd feel a heckuva lot more confident. If the weather Sunday is rather balmy, it's almost like Brees playing indoors..
Not saying we'll lose. Not in the least. Just that my confidence level is nowhere near yours and Joey's

Hey pops, I watched the Oakland NO game start to finish last week, and neither team was anywhere close to prepared on defense. The Saints will score, I don't doubt that but their defense is still in shambles and ours isn't. Mr. Apple will play plenty I assume, Brees should be going after him with Michael Thomas but that's a matchup he's used to. Cooks really can't be controlled, he's just that fast but Willie Snead blew up and he's not a game changer, I expect Janoris or DC to clamp him down. If I'm Brees, I'm going after Apple, our LBs and Landon Collins downfield.
Aside from Cam Jordan and maybe Paul Kruger if he finds his form they lack pass rush and Eli should have time to do what he wants. I expect a track meet that we win because we have superior defense talent to a year ago. If it rains, bye bye Saints.

This really does say it all
The Giants are a very different team this year
But this is important as this is our home opener and a game we should win. Will tell a lot about this team. Plus, I would love to be playing the Skins, a game I will see live, with a 2-0 record.
But on the Saints and playing on the road, I went back over the last 2 years to see what they have done in those games in September and October when the weather is seasonably warm.
They have played 9 such games, losing 7 of them.
They have given up an average of 28 points in the games, while only averaging 23.
They have only scored 30 points or more in only 1 (ONE) of the games, while giving up 30+ in 4 of the games.
So the Saints offense has not produced at the same rate they do at home even in ideal conditions (5 of the road games were played indoors).
In my head this lines up as a 30-20 Giants win with them covering.
gone . Early returns tell me that the Saints will
not hang another 50 on us .
Breese is great and they have speed at WR but Our
Offense should be more consistent each week .
We must have positive yards when we run on 1st and 10
and sustain some drives win time of possession and the
Defense will take care of the rest
34-17 Giants
Greg -- that bears repeating! -- and also the upgrade from Hosley to Apple is also immense

That is one awful roster of names right there.
I also remember Ben Watson was basically playing catch with Brees that day like nobody was even around.
