NFT: Hotels in Bermuda? Help Requested!

Anando : 9/21/2016 3:28 pm
BBI family,

In a few weeks I'm taking the plunge and proposing to my Gf. To celebrate, I'm planning on taking her to Bermuda (easy, quick flight) for a few days of relaxation (early October).

I've narrowed down my hotel choices to the following three - pricing is relatively the same across all of them:

1) Cambridge Beaches and Resort (seems far from Airport)
2) Fairmont Southampton (looks like the leader)
3) Elbow Beach (classic, but mediocre reviews?)
4) Fairmont Hamilton (nice but no beach)

I'm particularly looking for a hotel that has a beach on site, and doesn't require a long walk/shuttle.

Any input would be appreciated, especially if you have other hotels in Bermuda

Is great. However, you do need to take a 3 minute shuttle to their private beach. But that beach is awesome - there's a restaurant, bar, dive shop, etc. And it's an easy walk to Horseshoe Beach which is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Also, it's easy to catch a bus from the FS to The Dockyard, grab the ferry to Hamilton and back. And the Fairmont sits on top of a hill with great views of the whole island.
Ditto Southhampton

I stayed there for a long weekend 2 years ago. Really nice hotel with that beach and 2 great pools. Plus you can take a free shuttle bus or ferry boat to the other Fairmont if you want to go hang out in Hamilton.

The Best there is. Pricey but worth it. There is a boat that can take you into Hamilton
Mind you

it is also about a 40 minute cab ride from the airport too. But it's a fun ride.
We really enjoyed that seafood restaurant above the fairmont beach

Ocean Club is the name. We went there multiple times.

And keep in mind

The Fairmont Hamilton has no beach. It's more of a beach club. But it's still a great property. However, Hamilton is dead on Sunday's. Ghost town.
Thanks everyone

I think this is confirming Fairmont Southampton...

Any thoughts on Elbow Beach though? I thought it used to be the most luxurious one?
Pompano Beach Club

If you haven't booked yet, check out the Pompano Beach Club. The cottage style hotels on the island are really great and unique. Great food, and facilities.

I travel to Bermuda all the time for business South Hampton is the nicest. Elbow beach only has cabanas the main hotel has been closed for structural issues. Hamilton is OK but is also being renovated and you have to walk to get to your room
Restaurants Red or Blue, Hamilton has the best bars Port of Call is a cool place to eat and have drinks at night
Used to be one called

The South Hampton Princess that I used to go to annually as a kid. Great beach.
And if you can swing it beforehand

try to get a high-floor room facing the water with a balcony. Nothing quite like sitting out on the balcony with a couple drinks watching the ocean.

The private FS beach is on the bottom right hand corner. You can swim out to the rocks and dive off them - but watch out for PMW.

Just reminds me

Might have to make some
