but Evan doesn't bother me. I like them both together more than solo although lately Beningo's act is getting old to me. All he does is self loathe all day long and the Mets aren't even that bad and lately damn good.
I like Evan and Joe but yeah, it's like 2 Met/Jet fans spending 3 hours complaining about their teams. Even when they do talk Yankees and Giants, it's kind of forced and they definitely don't know them as well as the Mets and Jets.
When I'm on the road for work, I find myself listening to Hahn and DiPietro from noon to 1 much more when they go up against Joe and Evan.
Yes they overdo the Mets and Jets talk...but they're not your typical clueless fans, they're pretty self deprecating about how being a Mets/Jets fan can be pretty pathetic
Then there's Francesa, I heard an hour of him yesterday, some older guy called in saying he has an idea about what the Giants could do about the offensive line, and Mike said "eh" and hung up on him...apparently wasn't in the mood to talk about it. All class from that donkey
I know it's an exaggeration, but you'd think that the Giants 'flagship' would talk Giants a little more - besides the weekly Carl Banks spots. I also have a hard time with the 8-10 minute commercial breaks, and the Minko updates. 20/20 sports flash? I could see having it during the afternoon on weekends, when there are games being played, but 'setting the schedule' for the evening every 20 minute sucks. Besides, it's just a bumper to wrap commercials around.
When Joe Badingo was on the overnight he was the greatest! The guy is like a sports encyclopedia. Seriously, I challenge anyone to call Joe and ask him about any player, in any major sport, and Badingo is gonna' know EVERYTHING about that guy. Badigo is like a human sports Google.
But since he's been on the day show, which is a long time now, its all bro, bro, bro... When Joe was on the overnight he never called anyone "bro". I don't know who told him the bro schtick was a good idea, but it ain't.
If you like the Mets and Jets these are your guys!
Coming up, the 250 greatest Mets middle lefty relievers since 1980....
Their Ratings have to be average at Best. Maybe that's why their only on for 3 hours !
Their show is very structured because Beningo doesn't do well on long shows - see when they fill in for Mike. Most of the show is actually live reads by Beningo.

I was heading south on the NJ Turnpike Monday afternoon and tuned into Francesca. Once he says "back after this," it's at least 8 minutes until he comes back on. Adding the commercials per hour, he's basically only on the air about 25 minutes, if that. And since everyone knows how long the commercial breaks are, I just turn the radio off and then back on 7 - 8 minutes later. I'm sure everyone else does the same and, as a result, why would you advertise on that station knowing that very few people are listening?

It's 10:40 on the Giants flagship station, and these goofs led with Jose Fernandez and then went right to the Jets with Beningo's standard "Same old Jets - they are a disgrace" schtick.
They will do an hour on the Mets and say when we come back from break we'll talk about the Yankees win last night. They will mention a random Yankees player...Wow, Gary Sanchez had another big game last night. Joe...yeah and we got d'Arnaud. He's horrible. Well Rivera's been okay. Yeah, the Mets have to go with Rivera moving forward don't they? I would think so, Travis d'Arnaud stinks and Plawecki...don't get me started. Defensively Rivera is the better catcher. If hits a little, you gotta start him. Yeah, I agree..let's take a phone call....Caller: I'm calling about Curtis Granderson....
I also liked Benigno a lot way back when he did the overnight.
He doesn't annoy me now the way he seems to annoy others.
But one thing that I don't like about him now is that he'll make a strong (albeit emotional) point about a player or team, and Evan Roberts will return a counterpoint. And Joe will immediately capitulate with "Yeah, you're right...You're right!" He does that a lot.

I enjoyed this, let's take a call - Ira from Staten Island...

Can't forget about Beningo's awful interview crutch of "HOW BOUT THAT?"
Has anyone listened to his football picks this year ? He's almost always wrong.
That aside, he and Benigno are very entertaining. One of the things I really look forward to is listening to their show after a bad Jet loss. Of course it helps that the Jets have probably had more bad losses then any team in the history of football.

When I drive for work and these guys are on, it's any station but that.

Evan is OK, Benigno is worthless, but they really do avoid talking Giants unless Carl Banks is there or OBJ spears Josh Norman.
what about those Nets.

but they still kicked little Lupica's ass.

This. Beningo has nothing going on between the ears. It's all playing off ER: "absolutely", "I agree", "you got that right, bro..."
The commercial breaks are insane.

Jon Jastremski is most underrated on the FAN. I'd expect him to get moved to days once Mikey leaves and they restructure.
Isn't that his real mother driving the car?

Ha! The look on little Howard's face when he finds out he's "half negro" is hilarious.
