Rookie safety Darian Thompson (foot) will be evaluated on a week-to-week basis. Real concern about his foot. He was rolled up on my own man on Sunday vs. Saints.

Rookie safety Darian Thompson (foot) not at practice. Doesn't look good for him this week. Expect rookie safety Andrew Adams to be elevated to active roster today.

"rolled up on my own man"

mean?
Berhe will probably start now. He did in Week 1.
Klaatu : 9/22/2016 12:18 pm : link
The Giants could have Leon Hall play some safety, too, or they could bring Andrew Adams up from the PS, which would be my choice since he's more of an FS than SS.
Thinking more about it...
Klaatu : 9/22/2016 12:19 pm : link
Perhaps the Giants activated Michael Hunter because they do want Hall as Safety. Just spitballing here.
Sounds like a lis franc
jlukes : 9/22/2016 12:26 pm : link
would need about 6-8 weeks of rest IMO if it is
There are a couple of relatively painless ways to make room for Adams.
Big Blue Blogger : 9/22/2016 12:27 pm : link
The most straightforward is to cut a DT. Hughes and Thomas were both inactive against the Saints, and Thomas has spent most of his Giant tenure in the infirmary. I doubt the team wants to drop Josh Johnson (though I'm not exactly sure why he's there) or Michael Hunter, who was just promoted. Roger Lewis might be in some jeopardy too, but only if he's not progressing. Depth at WR is pretty important, even if the #6 guy never dresses until somebody gets hurt.

All these options are fine. I just don't want to hear Thompson mentioned in the same sentence with injured reserve.

Yup. One Thompson on IR is enough.

will do great. Let DT heal up.
but Nat Berhe doesn't cover very well

I wouldn't fret too much
Joey in VA : 9/22/2016 12:59 pm : link
Berhe has really stepped up his game and we have 4 very good CBs, two of whom are vets who can drop deep if needed. And Adams isn't terrible if he's brought up.
My only concern is the luck we've had with these things
jcn56 : 9/22/2016 1:04 pm : link
clustering at a single position. Yes, we're deep in the secondary. But now that's two guys, one of whom went to IR. I'm officially going to be concerned if it goes any further.
So here comes the injuries

Because he sucks and will be injured just as fast as Darian Thompson was.
What is the writer trying to communicate with "real concern"?
SomeFan : 9/22/2016 2:12 pm : link
He should just state what the concern is, not a vague provocative statement. "Real" concern is annoying.

Not trying to be snarky with the writer, but I totally agree. Just omit the word "real" and tell us what the concern is ...
Stop already
Larry in Pencilvania : 9/22/2016 3:06 pm : link
It's already been reported as a minor sprain on the top of his foot and he's in a walking boot. He'll live.

A lisfranc is usually an impact injury
David B. : 9/22/2016 5:30 pm : link
in which one or more of the metatarsal bones are displaced from the tarsus.

Not the kind of thing that happens in a roll up. It's probably what they say it is -- a sprain.

I rolled my ankle BADLY earlier this year and it was quire painful trying to walk and took a long time to heal, but I'm over 2x his age and not an athlete.

I know I probably sound like I have a crush at this point, but if they do call up AA from the practice squad, I would love to see them bring back B Jackson to take his place on the squad. I still think he will be a player once he has had enough time to heal up from his injury.
