12. New York Giants 2016 record: 2-0 Week 2 ranking: No. 16 The Giants were 1-5 in games decided by three or fewer points last season. They are 2-0 in such games this season. They aren't pulling away from teams, but wins are wins. The winless Redskins provide another chance for victory in Week 3. |

13. New York Giants What happened to Barnburner 2.0? Less than a year after the Giants and Saints tallied 13 offensive touchdowns in New Orleans, they combined for one Sunday at the Meadowlands. The key score came on special teams, courtesy of the Giants' most important free agency acquisition. On the subject of Janoris Jenkins, he and his secondary mates did a heckuva job on Brandin Cooks and Willie Snead, helping to hold the Saints' powerful offense to a paltry 3 for 13 on third down. Hey, Big Blue is 2-0. |

11. New York Giants: (last week: 13) The Giants have been a pleasant surprise through two weeks, remaining undefeated after wins over the Cowboys and Saints. The defense was upgraded in the offseason and it has showed thus far, allowing just 32 points in two games. If this kind of play continues, the Giants will finish on top in the NFC East. |

8. New York Giants last week: 12 record: 2–0 The Giants finished 1–8 in games decided by six points or fewer last season. They’re already 2–0 in 2016, with a 20–19 win over Dallas and a 16–13 victory over the Saints. NFL players will tell you that teams make their own luck, but the Giants were due to win a couple nail-biters. |
For me, it appears the apparent improvement in the quality of the roster and the Giants overall play has been noticed, which seems to support some of the early optimism on BBI.
I was also somewhat surprised in the relative consistency across the 4 rankings listed.
Yeah, but you can't avoid the limelight when you're winning, especially when that comes as a surprise to many of the prognosticators.
Anyone who looks at the number of quality players on that D who doesn't understand how good they are is wearing blinders.
The offense was ten last year and adds Cruz and Shepard.
Wake up all you big shot writers, wake up and open your eyes.
Pitts and New England....then no one is better than us. Denver/s QB is a huge question mark, Carolina's offense line and receivers are question marks. Seattle was shot the minute they gave Wilson his hundred million.
Even Green Bay and Minny that looked like sure losses are beatable. Stay healthy, get the offense going and we're a force to be reckoned with.
