terrible coaching decisions, questionable play calls, PI in the end zone and getting worked by a third string rookie QB is all of a sudden not a sloppy fucking mess. Huh.
I would have thought that's EXACTLY what it is.
No, most of that is on the players.
What was the terrible coaching decision? What was the terrible play calling you are referring to that is costing them this game? James fumbled the KO return giving the pats a short field that led to a TD. Obrien replaced James as returner and then HE fumbled.
I can only think of a running play on 3rd and 2 that they didnt get and that would be REALLY pushing it.
You're really going to blame the coach for two PIs in the end zone and two fumbles? I would call that silly, but find it hilarious instead.
The players suck.
And so does the coach. They were not prepared to play tonight. They had four days - just like the Pats - and so far have failed miserably.

It's ok chop.
I appreciate your concern, but Bill O'Brien did not coach himself out of a win tonight.
Miss those Thursday night games. Let us map out our Friday night and Saturday afternoon schedules at opposing fields with our jerseys on. Crazy that my son is doing that stuff now. Goes by too fast.
Lol. Youre still trying to make that point of yours huh? Totally on the coach because a player loses his head when his qb cant get him the ball and theyre down by 20 points getting shut out.
Whatever. I have never had a problem with you, and don't now. I just think your criticism of OBrien tonight is awfully simplistic.

simplistic? His team was completely embarrassed, exposed and humiliated. You bet your sweet ass a good amount is on the coach.
Chop - have you ever played football or coached the game?
I ask, because there is no doubt a guy like BO is going to have nightmares about this game. He will regret virtually everything he did this week. And he will probably talk about "rock bottom" and try to use the Pats as where they need to be.
Tonight was an embarrassment. This wasn't even passable as a legit first team against a third string QB and defense with definite questions.
The Texans have more than enough talent on offense to be productive and they look like the Cleveland Browns.
Hoyer did more with less talent last year at a fraction of the cost. I think the Texans made a big mistake investing in this guy.
Elway knew this guy well. Offered him a great deal and he walked. And now w Lynch as a back up and Simeon they look solid at least and saved themselves a shit load of cash.
do this to Osweiler and the Texans offense when the Browns and Bears looked completely befuddled over stopping Carson "One Read" Wentz.
The Steelers better skullfuck them on Sunday.
Pats are coached but one of the best in the history of the NFL. Browns are a disaster and to be honest I think Fox is done as much as I like him. Then again he's stuck w Cutler.
And keep his head screwed on straight. Not a time for "rock bottom" talk or over-dramatizing it.
2-1, lost a non-division game on the road. Turned it over several times but were still well in the game in the third quarter. Not trying to sugar coat a turd, it was awful. But they'd have signed off on 2-1 after week 3 going into the season.
are the ones who blasted coughlin all year last year despite having late leads in nearly all of their games and being a dropped ball away from beating the pats with Unga and a bunch of other players that didn't belong anywhere on an nfl field.

Im not defending OBrien past the Pats TD after the second fumble off of a kickoff. I thought the Texans showed a lot of quit from the coaching staff following that. I was defending O'Brien when they were sti in the game and the players were fucking up. Thats not me equivocating, thats the truth. I honestly saw nothing wrong with OBrien's coaching nor his staff till midway thru the 3rd.
However, whenever a team quits...whenever you are running the ball on 3rd and 20 down 20 on your own 5 or so...,whenever you fair catch inside the 5...whenever THAT shit happens, thats coaching. If those same players are playing specials at the same positions next week, I would question that.
But for years Tom Quinn has been in charge of the Giants specials when they were abysmal. Nobody questioned TC's in game coaching. They questioned whether Quinn should have a job at the end of the year. For years, TC wasnt questioned for Gilbride's play calls in game...he was only questiined about keeping him as OC.
Im just saying, the game was lost before I put anything on that staff. I think the players let the staff down.
Can't say I'm surprised. I only recall the Giants and Cardinals winning in Foxboro in recent memory, and both of those were close games. The Pats just don't lose at home, especially to AFC teams. It's uncanny.

There's a more recent game than those two....and it was great football. Link - ( New Window )

Haha, I had forgotten about that game. That was a fun one.

I think the Patriots would win comfortably with Audra Lindley at quarterback!
Agree. Chop - you're still my boy. I enjoy your posts bud.

they play these Thursday games, outside the first week of the season. The quality of play is borderline high school.
Borderline high school?
Next you're going to tell us Victor Cruz sucks ass.
I announced a high school game tonight. It looked like the Texans.
The Texans have more than enough talent on offense to be productive and they look like the Cleveland Browns.

Better not blame the coach though, Greg.
Not his fault at all that they're down 27-0. Coaching was there tonight.
They looked organized, aggressive, tight as three units, and disciplined.
Just a couple bad bounces and breaks and this game is easily 27-3.

Well disciplined team here folks. Lookin good.

How dare you, 2012! Obrien has nothing to do with this debacle.

Houston is just stupid. Terribly coached team. Just pathetic

"I'll be O'Brien."
"Who am I?"
"You're you!"
"Just me?"
"Yeah!"
"...Okay..."
"What, you don't want to be you?"
"Well if you get to be O'Brien, why can't I be somebody?!"
