they're referring to "QB hits", which is when the QB gets hit without being sacked. You know, like during games when they show the sacked/hit/hurried stats.
The right side is certainly still a questionable area

ahhh. never realized there was a difference...now i'm curious as to why their separate, as what does it matter if a QB is hit "3" times but say he was sacked 9 in the same time period
as they were about the run game. Even last year, the OL did a decent job in the passing game; it was the run game where there were problems (and were again vs Saints)
1) No "QB contact" (no hit, knocked down or sacked)
2) QB hit (but not knocked down or sacked)
3) QB knocked down (but not sacked)
4) QB sacked
On a given play, only one of the 4 choices is recorded. A flaw might be if a QB is "sacked" by the ball being knocked out of his hand, he clearly wasn't hit or knocked down.
The run game sucks 3 years running now because of the offensive line.
RUNNING GAME.
Not passing game.
Yep.
1) 3.2 Yards Per Carry, which is 28th in the league, despite playing two poor defenses.
2) Also, plays down field have been limited -7 plays of 20 yards, which is only middle of the road despite having Eli and one of the best receiver groups in the league facing one defense with no pass rush and another with no secondary.
It should be blatantly obvious with the talent this team has on offense that it's the Oline that's the limiting factor. You can twist the narrative with selective data, or you can accept the obvious fact that this team has needs up front. Somehow I don't get the feeling they are going pass up on that Oline in next years draft --despite the wonderful job some might have you believe this group is doing.

No contact, hurried, hit, sack are all measurements of the Defensive impact upon the QB and gives more context to a play. Hits and hurries obviously impact the play of the offense - in a quick offense like ours, hits and hurries may be more telling than sacks.
Similar stat package is used for DBs in how they score their impact on the WR during a play. WR redirected, defensed, breakups, etc.

Can you elaborate? If the QB fumbles, it's recorded as a sack + fumble if caused by the defense behind the LOS, even if he doesn't go down.
If a QB falls down 1 yard behind the line of scrimmage and the defender simply touches him, the NFL records that as a sack.
If a QB is scrambling and is behind the line of scrimmage and the defender makes any level of contact with him to end the play as he goes out of bounds, the NFL records that as a sack.
Sacks and hits are in fact two different things. You can add them both to total combined pressure.
Eli has been getting rid of the ball like lightening

2) QB hit (but not knocked down or sacked)
3) QB knocked down (but not sacked)

Correct.
Case in point to use would be in the Giants-Packers NFC Divisional playoff game in 2011-12.
Osi knocked the ball out of Rodgers hands in the 3rd quarter to cause a fumble that the Giants recovered. He didn't sack him or take him to the ground.
Here is how the NFL scored it:
1-10-NYG 30
(10:36) A.Rodgers sacked at NYG 37 for -7 yards (O.Umenyiora). FUMBLES (O.Umenyiora), RECOVERED by
NYG-D.Grant at NYG 37. D.Grant to NYG 37 for no gain (T.Lang).
So the NFL ruled it a sack even though Osi didn't "hit" him in the traditional sense you might think by tackling him to the turf. Simply contacting his right hand to force the ball loose is still counted and recorded as a sack.
Gotta be able to run the ball with consistency in order for the OL

That said, Eli's among the best at avoiding sacks and the offense is predicated on quick throws so I don't expect them to give up a lot of hits/sacks.
1st time with a frying pan...next time a straight right hand...finally with a bike kick stand.

If we can go undefeated, we can keep the morons in the woodwork as we have with these first two wins..😜👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👍👍👍
It's not that people were down on the OLine, they were just up on the Cowboys & Saints pass rushers...oh wait.
I think Cameron Jordan was pretty good for NOLA and so I'm not so sure Washington is that much better.

Pass protection has been adequate at best
