*with our Eli + our WRs, I expect WAS to drop back, keep S's deep and challenge NY's run game to beat their front 7. really, why wouldn't you? there is a blueprint to keeping this offense in check and keeping the productivity (points) down. we need to start killing teams with the run to make this an unviable strategy. do we have the OLine and RBs to do it?
we've also shown to be error-prone shooting ourselves in the foot - by drop, turnover or blown block - further supporting sitting back on D forcing long drives
*conversely, the Skins D is giving up an NFL-worst 58% 3rd down conversion rate. this is where we can kill these guys. chip away at a 6 and 7-man box with the run and then convert on 3rd down
-------
*on D, I think we see DRC covering Jordan Reed. he did a nice job on Fleener last week. Spags may really be onto something using him vs. tall receiving TEs.
think overall, we were getting a good jump on cousins last year and seem to pick up on something. Predicting this is the game Jenkins or DRC has a pick 6.
but the Giants have been saying all the right things this week and appear focused. They say they are also desperate and know it's a Division game that they need to take at home. Will it be a close game, probably will, but I think the Giants will prevail. I'm usually nervous about these games too, but I have confidence moreso in this team.

Yes and no... there has been more trash talking that I prefer (even before Saints game).
Their tackles are solid. Williams is good to very good. Morgan Moses is decent, a bit above average. Scherff is OK. Liechtensteiger and Lauvao are terrible, though.
Great job, Eric. I really want the Giants to turn up the pressure on Cousins. I don't want to give him the chance to get comfortable.
The Skins can not call the same game they have the past two weeks. They can not risk Cousins standing in the pocket. They need to get him
moving and in the mindset of making plays. I see boots, rollouts, and even three or four read options.
I also see DC taking a huge poke downfield on their first offensive series, if not their first play. Expect some trickery as well with that play.
Big picture I like the Giants O vs. their D much better than the Skins O going against the Giants revamped defense. I expect the Skins D featuring Su'a Cravens more.
I know you are right that the Giants will go for a balanced approach, but Ithink the passing game can be much more dynamic. I would love to see lots of no huddle and a quick-strike approach.
Like BB56 said yesterday, forget about the stats and records from the past two games. The Giants are more talented and at home, but they need to get going on offense and protect the ball, because the Skins can win and damn would that suck, particularly living in the DC area.
I don't mind the trash-talking as long as they back it up.
As for the intensity, it's incumbent on Ben McAdoo to keep the team focused and avoid any letdown. Sure, the Redskins are desperate, but the Giants should be desperate, too...desperate to show the rest of the division, the conference, and the league that they're for real, that they've exorcised the demons of the past three seasons, and that they're legitimate contenders. There's just as much, if not more pressure on the Giants than there is on the Redskins, and it's Ben McAdoo's job to see that his team doesn't crack under it.

Giants updated their injury report and put RB Rashad Jennings as questionable. Expectation remains he'll play with small cast on left thumb.
again..unable to put a stronghold dagger into an a div rival or opponnent.
Kerrigan, Reed, and Cousins (after being criticised after last week) likely step up in desparate situation and again save their season..Giants would go far, if by somehow win this game, would turn the worm that scared me for several seasons as being the "same ole same ole" team. Until proven otherwise
It took me a few years to realize that Eric was not a weak-kneed wussie when it came to the Redskins ("Oh dear, our boys are talking too much this week, I think I am going to pee my pants"), and that in fact, he simply hates the Redskins so much that the thought of losing to them makes him ill.
So, as in the past, Eric will fret, the Giants will win going away---I'll go for 36-0 in a repeat of the 2005 game---and Eric can retrieve his man card at the conclusion of the game.
on Sunday. I know they have been stout thus far, but would love to see some turnovers and help out offense with some prime field position or defensive scores themselves...
Others have echoed, what I have said about this team.....
With Tom Coughlin teams, teams we were suppose to beat, sometimes this team came out flat, or didn't even show up...
This is one of those games.....if they come out flat, can Mac make the adjustments needed and get this team back on track....last week it was 3 turnovers....this week, we need to put another nail in the Skin's coffin....

The Giants were 5-1 vs. the Skins from 2013-2015. 😀

Not just talking about the skins..but the situation. putting the 'dagger" into a div opponent when opportunity was there to..I believe they had a few vs the other ones (ie philly and/or dallas)
... Cousins. In addition to Cravens starting, David Bruton will most likely get benched. Cravens and say Ihenacho in place of Bruton, could provide a boost.
3-0 will happen but only if we play turnover free football this week
Last week has to be an aberration of sorts, the fumble were ridiculous.
I look for Eli to still throw the ball well. I think we'll run better this week than last week.
But the main reason I think we win is our defense is really starting to come together.
DRC will cover TE J. Reed, and he is our biggest threat in the middle. D. Jackson will likely grab a longer pass cause he's that good but generally our defense has kept teams from getting the big play off.
Giants 27-23 over Skins in a game we again control overall. We have to stay healthy and get healthy for the Vikings who are now without RB A. Peterson, their home run threat Runner. I don't want to get ahead of myself, but 4-0 and heading to GreenBay is my dream.
Those types of numbers usually end in a loss ..
Its time we start to be a tough out at home ...
Survive the early big play attempts and slowly but surely
beat down on Cousins ..
I expect OBJ to come out on top I can't imagine pedestrian
numbers this week .
Somehow they have to find a way to run the ball effectively
we have far to many negative or no gain plays on 1st
down .
With our o-line, it is very possible we will not be able to run
season when the Giants went to Washington with an 0-2 record, a defense that looked like the worst in the league but won the game late to save the season and go on to win the SB. I hope it is not that season in reverse.

This game worries me too and I agree a Coughlin team would often show up flat for such a game.
While not a typo, I initially misread the first line:
Later, you talk about the Redskins losing would be leave them with an 0-3 record and 0-2 in the division.
Consider noting the Giants overall and division record; something like:
Not a big deal.

This game isn't as big as those, but we have laid eggs against these guys too.

True. Offense sucked both games, but they were both in DC. Giants have taken it to the Skins at home.
0-3 with 2 divisional losses sucks bad but there would be still 13 games to be played.

This is an ideal group of receivers to play dink and donk - 5 yards safe at a time with OBJ, Cruz, and Shepherd always a danger to break one anyway.
Don't even try to have Jennings active. Use Vereen and Darkwa and let Jennings heal up.
Two turnovers per game is not good.
