- According to Adam Rubin, Noah Syndergaard has been scratched from Saturday's start. Has strep throat. Sean Gilmartin will start. (You can't make this shit up. )

- Terry Collins said the hope is that Noah Syndergaard can be slotted back into the rotation Monday or Tuesday -- not miss a full turn. Of course, that disrupts Syndergaard being lined up for the Oct. 5 wild-card game. Collins noted that the Mets need to qualify for the postseason first. "Right now, in our situation, we can't worry about Oct. 5," Collins said. Collins added that if the Mets are fortunate to clinch before the final series in Philadelphia, Syndergaard or Bartolo Colon can be held back for the wild-card game.
