I get they are desperate. I recognize they won the division last year. But they're 0-2 and we're 2-0. Talent wise, I think we're better. Also, I think this team wants to erase the stink of the last time they played.
I see a lot of posters quaking in fear of this game. Why? Washington could obviously win-any given Sunday-but we should be the clear favorites if we play our game.

Also, some Giants have been stoking the flames, and that has blown up in our faces, except for Plaxico's prediction before the first Pats Super Bowl. Add Thompson's injury, Garafalo's speculation about Vernon, and the fact that many BBIers nutsacks are getting tight as the game approaches.
Living in DC, a victory this weekend will be like a playoff win. Not just a wild card win, but a big one. The reason is DC will implode and the villagers will march to Skins Park with pitchforks and torches, and sports radio will cover all of it.
Giants 30, DC 20.
Reading into things, I think its something the Skins would want to instigate. Norman hasnt traveled in previous 2 games, but now they want him to follow OBJ? Why leak that information out anyways? I think they realize talent-wise they cant keep up with the Giants, so they're going to try win a psychological game.
Giants have to make sure they dont get sucked into it... but push anybody enough & you never know. That concerns me.
LOL
The Giants should win and obviously they may not. Are we really discussing the possibility of us winning or losing? Watch the fucking game!!
It's football, anything can happen. There's a reason they actually play the games.
No doubt. The Giants offense needs to get in gear as does the Skins. My money is on Eli leading the Giants vs. the Skins DC as opposed to Cousins leading the Skins vs. the Giants defense.
I certainly think the Giants are the better team. I think it's going to be a long day for Matt Jones on the ground but they have weapons in the pass game.. Reed is an elite player now and he's a matchup nightmare for a lot of defenders.
As long as everyone keeps their cool and this doesn't turn into Normanstock 2.0, I think we'll be okay. We HAVE to protect the football, though. Can't shoot ourselves in the foot, we'll lose this game if we do.
Feeling very confident we win if we play our game though.
Anyway, regarding the Redskins...
To me, it is not about fearing them. I actually fear our own offense right now more than the Redskins. I am afraid about the fact that they scored once in two games against weak defenses. I am really pleased with our defense so far. It is as if there are role reversals now. The defense is (through 2 games) the strength right now with the offense playing like they are the weak link.
Read Jackson may not play
Today, we are starting to emerge as the division's top team. If we beat the Redskins, it puts us in a very strong position (3-0, three games ahead of the Redskins, a realistic chancce at sole possession of first place. This is a game we should definitely win.
Any questions?

Five months ago was baseball season. Also, at no point last season were the Giants an up and coming team. Their defense was a disaster as was the offensive line and running game, and the injuries were beyond ridiculous.

Jackson. That guy is like a pit viper to the Giants.

Jackson is absolutely playing. He missed one practice early in the week, but practiced fully yesterday.
Completely agree. All that needs to be said. GO GIANTS!!!!
However, that said...this is not a Giants team of the past decade (no disrespect to Tom Coughlin intended). This is a new era with a largely new and much more talented roster. It features a different coaching staff and from what I can tell through 2 games, a different attitude. Washington is struggling, we're hearing the quiet grumblings that often grow into a locker room of discontent, the injury list is lengthy and filled with the names of several key players, and perhaps most importantly their QB is struggling and we may be getting an early answer as to if the pressure of living up to last season will be a factor.
The first two weeks saw the Giants gain their footing, begin to establish their identity, and win the kind of games they lost in seasons past. Now they will begi pm to hit their stride. The Giants are better than this team. And it will be on full display tomorrow, when the defense shells Cousins, Eli drops a few bombs of his own, and Odell and Co. take Norman to the woodshed.
The Redskins have enough weapons in the passing game to be dangerous if Cousins plays at the upper end of his mediocre range. Assuming Doctson's Achilles is OK, Washington is four-deep with legit talent at WR. (I know Crowder's stats are unimpressive, but the skills are there). Jordan Reed is among the best pass-catching TEs in the League. They will spread the field. I think the Giants can handle the Redskins' running game with six in the box; but I also expect Cousins to have opportunities, especially with the Giants' best centerfielder out indefinitely. Cousins only has to hit a few to keep Washington in the game. Add a Giant turnover or two, and this one could get ugly fast.
One thing the Giants are not going to do is take the day off. But what they will do is struggle to run the ball, which means its up to Cruz and Shepard because I don't expect a breakout game from Beckham unless the refs are willing to throw the flag against Norman.
If you aren't nervous you aren't thinking this through.
It is too early to tell, but what if Sullivan is in over his head, and the offense never turns the corner because it is hamstrung by a poor offensive coordinator?

I think the way the Giants Offense is set up..Eli is really the Offensive Coordinator at least in game changing plays.

Damage can be mitigated by McAdoo stepping in and taking more control.
This is a great euphemism for Mr. Sports Science, who's name shall not be mentioned....
Norman will not follow Becky into the slot. Besides, I know he is supposed to be playing the best ball of his career this year, but I still think he is not talented enough to cover Beckham all game.
If the Giants lose, my entire week is going to feel like one big massive hangover.
Fear no respect yes ..
30-17 Win Yesss !

Well first, I honestly do think it is too early to judge here, but if at some point down the line McAdoo has to do that, I worry about the effect on the defense and special teams.
I am reminded now of an article I read recently about Fassel's first year hear and how he described the challenges of being a first year head coach. He specifically mentioned maintaining offensive production as a challenge after being promoted from October HC. That is exactly the situation the Doo is in right now as a first year HC.
Why fear Washington? ( apologies for not reading the rest of he thread)
Chris Thompson, Jordan Reed, dare I say it Desean Jackson. We need a pass rush that will not allow Kirk Cousins to accept he is a rich man and settle down into a role as a precision short passing QB.
Gruden's no dummy, he's coming at us where Collins is forced into coverage because Landon Collins is possibly the worst cover safety in the NFL. A pass rush hides that flaw, ball control by our offense limits what Washington can do. We should be able to move the ball, no question Eli is the better QB, we just can't let Cousins get comfortable.
Ironic that Cousins was the top QB n passing percentage last year and Eli has that distinction going into this game. It's a dink and dunk world out there. Maybe we'll see OBJ this week instead of Desean Jackson? Let us pray...
