They've done a great job stuffing the run, not to mention holding Drew Brees to under 300 yards passing, but I hope we can get a sack or two from our front four tomorrow. They've been applying good pressure, but I'd like to see them close the deal a couple of times against Kirk Cousins. Of course sacks don't tell the whole story - hell, the Jets sacked Andy Dalton seven times and they still lost to the Bengals - but it's high time for JPP and OV to start putting the fear of God into opposing QBs.
It's also high time for some takeaways. Force a fumble, intercept a pass, is that asking too much?
To my untrained eyes, OO has been fairly underwhelming while Okwara has been a pleasant surprise. Still very raw, but the tools are there.
Also, I should have included Big Hank as another guy who's due for a sack or two. Time to recapture some of that 2014 magic. I'd also like to see Jay Bromley get in on the act. I know the vast majority of BBI thinks he's a bust, was overdrafted, etc., but I still have some hope for the guy.
Was it Ranaan or Garafolo?
But, regardless of who brought it up, I suppose it's okay to speculate about it. Sure beats another OBJ vs. Norman discussion.
look at the elite pass rushers around the NFL - almost getting a sack and otherwise not sniffing the QB isn't top level stuff.
i am not complaining, our defense overall is impressing the hell outta me, but the pass rush isn't there yet and i agree (and hope) its because our starting DEs are hurt.
Honestly I feel like they've been living in the backfield especially in 2nd half. They are close. The sacks and in turn, the turnovers will come.

Jpp has 5 QB hurries, good for 3rd best in the NFL. Vernon has 4 QB hurries.
The pass rush is fine. Sacks are great but consistent pressure is better in the long run. We're getting pressure. It might not be an insane pass rush but it's just fine especially when you factor in how good the run d has been and the quality running games they shut down.
I think our secondary may be the best in the NFC. Given that, our pass rush might improve drastically, and it may be because the QB has no targets to throw to.
Jenkins is amazing. DRC has been shutdown his whole time in blue, and Jenkins actually looks better. The secondary is our strength.
