Up 21-9...they had a chance to pin their collective ears back and put away a game early. A chance to bury a division opponent. Each season there is a game you can look back on and say...that game changed the course of the season. We may have just seen it for the 2016 NY Giants.
The Giants will be probably be underdogs in each of the next three games against Minny, GB and Baltimore. Maybe they can win one...and beat the Rams to hit the bye at 4-3. But this was a golden opportunity...and they did what they usually have done the past 4 years...give it away.
there's also a reason this team lost 5 games when leading with under 2 min to go last year.
we can't finish anyone off and thus all are games come down to the wire and for all intents and purposes, a coin flip. we were unlucky on the coin flip last year and this year we're 2-1.
this team has the ability to not come down to coin flips, but for some reason we can't just step on the throat.
The defense was shaky too....Penalties and Turnovers sealed their fate.
How many "laughers" have we seen over the last 13 years? They are few and far between....
That Punt Block call at midfield was a real head scratcher also, our coaching staff did not do the players any favors today
This game came down to Tye not continuing on his route, and Eli throwing a ball when he shouldn't have at the end, or he should have seen the LB/S coming under Vereen and thrown it up high. In other words, Eli being Eli.
It is what it is. Not worried. The Giants will compete for the division or a wild card, and they will have some great wins and some ridiculous losses. I'm ready for it.
We'll see if washington is now contending or winning the division at end of year and turn to this as turning point in their season.
If Giants didn't play sloppy, and tons of mistakes (seemingly consistant these years) and etc..they would've taken advantage today.
