C Weston Richburg
Postgame vs. Washington, September 25, 2016
Q: What happened out there?
A: I let my teammates down. I have to be a presence in there and be a leader and I let my team down.
Q: Were they provoking you?
A: No, not at all. I think this matchup last year with two individuals was kind of a problem, so I think they were kind of trying to cut down on that. But from my perspective I need to settle down and just be that leading presence for my team.
Q: Is this the first time you have been ejected from a game?
A: No, sadly, I was ejected in college.
Q: What Josh Norman say to you? Did he say something that got you going?
A: No, not at all.
Q: When you saw the flag, did you know it was for you?
A: I mean, no, I hope not, but the guy that threw it was after me, but like I said, they were probably trying to cut down on things because of what happened with that matchup, but it is on me. I can’t control how many flags they want to throw. I have to be a leader and be in there for my team.
Q: Why do you think the guy was after you?
A: I deal with him a lot because he is the umpire and spots the ball, so I am talking to him about calls and what not, but like I said, I just have to be that consistent presence for my team and today I made a mistake and let it pull me out of the game.
Q: Did you speak to your teammates when they came back into the locker room?
A: Yeah. I told them that it is unacceptable for me to do that and I have to be in there with you guys.
Q: Was it you hitting him or was it something after the whistle?
A: I hope not, because it was a good block
Q: How do you think it affected the team not having you?
A: Well, there needs to be some consistency in the offensive line and I need to be in there and that is what I am upset about and that is what I need to fix.
Q: Did he tell you why he threw you out for?
A: No. We didn’t have a very lengthy conversation about it.
Q: Did you say something to Norman on the play?
A: No.
Q: So what are your thoughts regarding that call?
A: I can’t say anything about the call. Those are circumstances that I can’t control, so I have to do a better job and hang in there for my team.
Q: Did that have anything to do with him laying a big hit on Sterling Shepard before?
A: It is an emotional game. Big things happen, big plays and like I said, I have to be that consistent presence in there and be a leader and today I let my offensive line down and my team down.
Q: Do you feel that as a team you guys weren’t very disciplined today?
A: We had a lot of penalties, so we have to be better. We hurt ourselves.
A: No.
We all saw him yapping at Norman on the ground.
What is worse is it was not even the dumbest. most costly, or last unsportsmanlike penalty of the game.
A: No.
We all saw him yapping at Norman on the ground.
He also could have been called for a block in the back too

No, the block was good and that is not a PF if it is a block in the back.
i saw the holding, but nothing after that would indicate a personal foul that I saw, and he was on camera for a while

Watch it again. Richburg blocks from behind. It is as clear as day.
