I don't see how we will be a really good defensive team when we can't get after the passer. Our pass rush is anemic. Watching the game again it's depressing to see how clean a pocket Cousins had on most of his throws. Our best pass rusher today was JPP and he wasn't exactly in the quarterback's face all day. We get nothing on our interior pass rush. They can't play every down but I think we would get a better pass rush with Snacks and Hankins in there instead what we bring in on our pass rush package. If Eli had the time that Cousins had today he might have thrown for 500 yards. It has been the same problem we have had now for years despite all the money spent. I don't know how much Vernon is hurt but he's been extremely disappointing the last two weeks. I guess we will all hope for improvement.
The inability to stop the run in the 4th quarter was distressing after doing it well for about 11 quarters. The screen pass for a TD was embarrassing.
I also think we have played some really good offensive lines. Vernon has gone up against Tyron Smith, Terron Armstead, and Trent Williams, three excellent left tackles. I think we will do well against Minnesota from a d-line perspective.
The defense needs to to play better moving forward.

To be fair, special teams and offensive fuck-ups gave the Skins 3 short fields, 2 of which they scored on.
Spagnuolo pulled his horns in when he lost the two corners. That means Wade plays. Wade stinks. Plus they were short the safety who has the most range. I don't like Spagnuolo. But there were reasons for some of the things that are irritating you.
The defense last year made a lot of turnovers and still sucked.
Nonetheless, I am tiring of this bend but don't break tendency. On their last drive the Redskins ate up roughly seven minutes. That is seven minutes our offense did not have time to score.
Huge stat. Some of it is other team not making mistakes. The rest is a lack of play makers in the front 7.
