There is not a single person who didnt contribute to to this loss. I think this is one of the shittiest losses I have ever seen because it took everyone to screw up to lose. Offense, defense, special teams, coaching.... you name it, they all had a hand in it.
QB - Eli had 2 disgusting throws. One was a dropped INT and obviously the last one. His first INT I will get to in a second. However, he cannot make that throw to end the game, just inexcusable.
RB - Well lets see. Vereen fumble, Rainey dropped INT, Perkins ST penalty. The running wasnt bad in itself however too many mistakes.
WR - small problems, but problems nonetheless. Shephard had a big drop. OBJ had another big drop and a penalty at the end of the game. Cruz was pretty good, probably didnt get the ball enough.
TE - another pathetic effort. Donnell non-existant once again when it should have been a field day for him with the defense Washington was playing. Tye.... I am sorry. But he should be demoted immediately. Horrific blocking and his effort on the first INT is not worthy of being put on the field. He has a huge mismatch size wise.... and he jogs, stops running his route and gets pushed around for an INT. Thats pathetic.
OL - Richburg - absolutely embarrassing. Thats not what leaders do. Hart and Jerry got beat for sacks. Flowers with 2 more penalties.
DE - JPP and OV with sacks, but were not factors enough. KC had all day to throw and OV was going up against a backup. JH and DH were quiet.
LBs - bit on a ton of play actions and the middle of the field was wide open all day.
DB's - Made the Skins WRs look like Gary Clark, Art Monk, and Rickey Sanders. DRC with a rough game plus him and Apple both hurt. Wade looked lost.
McAdoo - Absolutely LOATHED his timeout after Cruz's last catch. They pick up a huge first down with over 1:00 left and the 40, there was no need for a TO. Skins regroup and get the INT to end the game. Also, our red zone offense is pathetic once again. Not enough TDs, turnovers, and the struggle continue.
Total team loss and if a few more units would have stepped up, it should have been an easy win.
I liked the timeout, the rest of your assessment is 100% accurate. i would also add special teams play being awful

I hate TOs after big plays unless they are necessary. That one wasnt.
We can list the dumb mistakes, but that's not new for this team. They kept competing and trying to come back, and almost did. that's a positive sign
The big question coming out of this game will be how McAdoo handles the mental mistakes. Will a clear message be sent to Richburg, Adams, and others who lost their cool? It's Ben's first chance to deal with some adversity and try to build from it, so let's see how he does
The richburg penalty cannot be downplayed. it was HUGE. we would have had the ball on the 5 instead we were back at the 20...HUGE DIFFERENCE. could have really changed the game
I also forgot STs...
Brown kicking the ball out of bounds. Horrendous.
Wing had 2 bad punts
The fake punt was a game changer as well.

ironically, the worst penalty we had doesn't even go into the records since it was offset.
that personal foul on the blocked punt is probably the one play that really pisses me off more than any right now
I thought Hart and Jerry did a very good job run blocking.
WRs were pretty good, despite a couple drops.
TEs - blechhhh.
Defense - they never got out of the locker room.
Richburg, Vernon, and Adams - pretty doggone stupid, no very stupid.

You are 100% right and I don't mind losing (even to a division rivalry - it is going to happen). But, the stupid mistakes bother me ... even when we win. When your team wins though you tend to dwell on it less and not as intense.
But, you are right.
Then the pass, ugh.
A total team effort. They were firing on all cylinders.
My bad. No punt retrun. That was a screen pass for TD.
This is the type of game I was hoping to not see anymore or at least not for a while after a coaching change. But this is two weeks in a row now with a lot of really stupid mistakes at inopportune times. Luckily we came away with a W last week.. but we didn't today.
Nothing is more frustrating than knowing the Giants are clearly the best football team on the field and losing the game because they can't get out of their own way.
agree with the rest though.

Hankins played a great game.
I disagree. I fully expected to win with 1:51 on the clock and the ball on the 25 yard line in Eli's hand. Felt very good especially after VC caught that big 3rd down pass.
Anyway, hard to disagree with much of the OP. Ugly loss.

Ive been very fair to him so far this year. I even blamed him for the INT at Dallas when many blamed SS.
I disagree. The Tye INT was the right read, Tye had a big advantage and did nothing. It was basically a jump ball with a height and weight advantage. The last one was unfortunate. Poor decision and a nice play. He even admit he thought he was far enough behind. If completed it goes for 25-30 yards.
Giants should've blown them out today. The skins are not close from a talent perspective.

Dont forget the fake punt.
Quote:
Was the biggest factor. Brown kicks one out of bounds which leads to 3. Punt return leads to 3. Wash had good field position all day long which kept them in the game along with stupid penalties and turnovers.

Yep that's 9. Vereen fumble was a 6 point swing as well.
Rainey shit show in the EZ took away 3.
Giants blew this game plain and simple. Skins are not good at all. Very frustrating.
Idiotic penalties, turnovers, piss poor special teams, no pass rush, and getting gashed in the running game late led to their demise today. We will see how resilient this team is next week going into Minnesota. Their defense is looking really tough, but they are not unbeatable by any means. I expect a much cleaner game by the Giants next week. Keep in mind this is still a young team with a rookie head coach.

You know, the last part of your post bugs me, not because what you said was wrong but because, I am sick of all that. I want to watch a team that plays smart football.
I feel like it's been far too long since we have seen that. Under TC there were errors a plenty yet they had the firepower to make up for it

Well said.
There is nothing positive in a loss like this because at every turn when they had the opportunity to finally wrest control of the game they let their ill advised emotions take over their senses. How many stupid plays were they going to make until they realized they were hurting their chances of winning the game.
That game was theirs from the the outset and they just pissed it away. I find nothing positive in a learning experience they all know too well already. Play like that is uncalled for and loses games for the team. It was a lesson they all know too well and did not need to have reinforced again yesterday.
