Get him more than 2 catches in the first half. Get him the ball in the redzone. In all 3 games this team can't score in the 2nd half. Get the ball into the hands of your best player.
I swear if I have to watch our supposed "superstar" (what crap?!) receiver gain over 100 yards receiving with relative ease against one of the best corners in the league who was getting safety help again, I'm fucking done. I am serious! I'll be FUCKING DONE watching this team.

Odell is above being criticized? Everyone knows he's an awesome player. Is anyone here suggesting it wouldnt be better for the team if he wasnt spazzing out on the sidelines and crying like a psycho path?
Clearly it would be better if he didnt do that. It doesnt mean he's not already aweseome.
McAdoo, you might want to pay more attention next time.
Should be "Fuck you. Get me the ball if you want to win."
This team doesn't have a Powerball's chance at another SB this season without Odell. No player in the game today has the same amount of talent Odell has and no one in our teams history has been as gifted other than Lawrence Taylor.
Odell is above being criticized? Everyone knows he's an awesome player. Is anyone here suggesting it wouldnt be better for the team if he wasnt spazzing out on the sidelines and crying like a psycho path?
How does him, off by himself, getting pissed affect the team? Please show an example how this affected their play.
Have this discussion privately. Beckham is a gamer. You don't want to neuter him. The reason we love him so much is the same reason people hate him so much. That is his passion. Hiw was he a distraction yesterday? Because he was passionate on the sideline? I have been a coach for a long time. I will take 22 Beckhams on my team any day.

Behavior like this eventually wears out it's welcome. See Owens, Terrell. It's not good for the morale of the team. Odell is the best player on the team. His maturity level is important to the mood of the roster. If it didnt matter why were there multiple players trying to calm him down? Eli, Jennings and Armstead all were trying to calm him down.
Not to mention what if he broke his nose on the kicking net? Cut himself in the face and needed stitches. Lashing out, throwing temper tantrums and crying on the sideline OBVIOUSLY doenst help your team.
is having 17 threads on it acceptable behavior? Does slamming a keyboard about how a player should act validate fans throughout the course of their day?
and one of the key players who did not mess up is pointed out by his coach as being a distraction?
Are you sure he was not talking about his Game Plan usage of him for the first 3 qtrs?
Wrong again. 2nd and 10 and he drops a ball that would have had us at 3rd and 2 at a minimum in a hey possesion late in the game. Stop slurpin' the sac.
Have anything to do with what happened on the field!!!??
Stop making it seem like we lost because Odell was going nuts on the sideline because as soon as he stepped in he started torching guys! WTF did his tantrum have to do with Eli's awful INT at the end? The defense not being able to get one stop! OV making a dumb roughing the passer penalty! Trevino Wade getting beat on a fake punt pass! Adams horrendous penalty on the punt block! Richburg hitting a guy 100 lbs smaller than him and then trash talking him and getting kicked out of the game! I guess all that transpired because of the distraction known as Odell. Give me a break, we would have won this game if we got Odell more involved, Odell has every right to be pissed in my book. He wasn't arguing with coaches or teammates he was just blowing steam.

What hell are you talking about? This is a message board about the NY Giants. We're discussing the best player on the team whose emotions have been an issue in the early portion of his career.
As for the amount of threads on it who gives a shit how many there are? If you're not interested in it just dont click on the link.

You're an idiot. He targeted Odell only 5 times in 4 quarters. It doesn't take Bill Belichick to know you get the ball to the games most electrifying player if you want to win.
He'll calm down, which will be good. I think he already has, but not enough. But let's remember his anger seems entirely about winning. As for teammates. Richburg's taunting seemed to be caused by his support for OBJ in his rivalry with Norman. A really bad play, but a sign that teammates support him.

how defensive people get about Odell. Everyone knows he's awesome.
Again, does anyone think the team wouldnt be better off if he didnt spaz out on the sideline and cry?
So you can prove a direct correlation between Odell "spazzing out" and things like Eli's game-ending pick or Vernon's roughing the passer penalty? Or did it have a "pre-effect" of causing Will Tye's laziness? The effect of what Odell did is completely overstated and in some cases, like with McAdoo here, a bullshit excuse for sloppy play.

I realize its a message board, one that's continually abused by its members. There's an infinite supply of Odell threads, but here's another. Just because you have the freedom to do whatever you want doesn't mean you should.
As for the topic at hand, its been beaten to death, but now what? He's emotional, sometimes he crosses the line. If we have enough threads on it will he change? If he changes will he be a better or worse player?

Did you fail at remedial reading? What does a drop "late in the game" have to do with the first 3 qtrs Einstein? And are you seriously going to sit here and claim that one drop wiped out the 120 yards he got for us? You are an idiot

The guy in your handle kind of makes you a tough person to discuss this with. I've made my opinion on it known. I'd like to see Odell kick the baby act. Doesnt mean I dont realize he's awesome and there were bigger factors in yesterdays loss.

What a load of shit.
5 targets (one batted at the line) in three quarters. The game plan should have been "get the ball to Odell" his advantage against Josh Norman is ridiculous as it is with nearly every DB. McAdoo calling Odell a distraction is a load of shit. As if what he does OFF the field had anything to do with that 'load of shit' on the field. Odell played like a stud as usual.
Maybe McAdoo feels by calling out OBJ in today's presser is some sort of accountability
It starts at the top. He should take some accountability and say it's his fault for not getting Odell more involved. The Giants were scared to make it a Norman vs OBJ game even though the Redskins announced early in the week Norman would shadow Odell. Giants game plan after the fast start became really conservative when they should have let Odell wipe the field with Norman.
of airing stuff out to the public. sit odell down and have a chat with him. by making the distraction comment, McAdoo is going to create additional distractions.

being their fiery, emotional leader even in the one flip where he's screaming at the ref in his face, trying to intimidate him (probably touched him but can't tell).
Without him this offense would've been one of the worst in the league last year..
That's besides the point. Everyone knows how good Odell is. It's a given. Doesnt mean him slamming shit on the sidelines is unacceptable behavior.
His behavior didn't lose us the game.. its was everything other than him.. This defense can't stop anyone from converting 3rd downs.. the TEs can't block or get open in one on one situations.. or break a tackle.. and many other things
The guy in your handle kind of makes you a tough person to discuss this with. I've made my opinion on it known. I'd like to see Odell kick the baby act. Doesnt mean I dont realize he's awesome and there were bigger factors in yesterdays loss.
Okay, then where's your "Will Tye is a lazy jackass" thread? You can't say "there were bigger factors in yesterday's loss", then make a thread about just this.

I didnt start this thread or any thread on Odell Beckham. I also wouldnt waste my time worrying about Will Tye because he sucks and has no future in the NFL. I'm more concerned with the growth and maturation of the Giants best player.

+1
Not making him a bigger part of the offense is borderline criminal!!!
was caused by Odell on sideline. More than once, Eli had to follow him around trying to talk him down. That is not the best use of your QB's time between series. He should be focused on the next series and necessary adjustments, etc. No way a put down of Odell, his skill or contributions on the field, but not sure his tirades aren't a net negative overall on the sideline.
Wow... I know it's not going to be a popular stance based on
what's been posted so far but I agree 100% with the coach on this one.
I'm not (and I don't think the coach is either) trying to pin the loss on Odell at all. This loss can't be directly tied to his tantrums on the sideline. That said, there's something to be said when your best player (and therefore a default 'leader' on the team) can't control his emotions. It creates a sense of tightness and anxiety that the team can't afford.
The fact that Eli had to go over and console him meant that Eli wasn't prepping for the next drive or concentrating on the GAME any more. It's a distraction that Eli and the team doesn't need. If this was a player on another team... no matter how good a player he may be... we'd be clowning the guy and hoping he continues to act this way forever. The last player Eli had to deal with that was like this was Shockey and maybe Plax. But he wasn't the unquestioned leader of the offense, if not team, at that time so he probably wouldn't have gotten involved back then. Now HE has to and that's not a good thing if you ask me.
Again, I'm not trying to say that Odell and his tantrums were the reason why they lost that game. I also agree that it would've been better had he done that in private (although we don't know if he has already). But hey... he's the HC and he did what he felt was best for the team. It's waaaay too early to start thinking he's only trying to save his own ass. All I know is that in a tight game it's usually not a good thing if any player... let alone your star player... is losing control on the sidelines. Everyone on that sideline wants to win the game... many of them probably just as much as Odell did... him showing it to everyone in the form of tantrums isn't helping anyone...
... and yes, I had my Odell jersey on during the game. I love the guy and hope he retires a Giant after a Hall of Fame career. But I'm calling it like I see it.

When you blame McAdoo for not getting Beckham involved, what are you saying?
McAdoo isn't the guy throwing the ball. How do you know how many times Beckham was the primary option, but was covered? Or someone else was a better option based on the coverage?
Eli threw for 350 yards if I'm not mistaken. It's not like the passing game was impotent.
Further, the offense's best football occurred in the first half, precisely when Beckham received fewer targets. I'm not saying he shouldn't get the ball, but we don't know what kind of value he had in this particular game as a decoy.
The fundamental point is we don't know what the plan was as it relates to Beckham. What we also know is that he acted like a complete baby when things didn't go his way.
Eli should run down the sidelines waving his arms and kicking shit over. Pull on his jersey and then pull out a stick of butter and mock rub it all over his hands. Then stick the butter up McAdoo's ass.
Then we can all talk about his passion for the game.

The problem was people always blamed Shockey for Eli throwing picks while ignoring the fact Eli led the NFL in picks twice after Shockey was gone (and one season when Shockey didn't play all 16 games). People use stuff like this as excuses for the people who really aren't handling their business. I have a difficult time listening to stuff like this when the list of clusterfucks that happened well before Odell flipped out is a mile long. If the coach wants to say Odell needs to calm down, I guess he's entitled to that. But don't add the part where it sounds like you're making excuses for other people fucking up and laying it at Odell's feet.

They went to him at the end of Saints game and what did he do..drops and easy TD. So we go to cruz and he makes a great catch...just saying
This shit happens a lot in sports. We make fun of it when its the opponent and people don't like it when its us. You can point to X or Y as being the reason for the outcome of the game, but its really just throwing shit at the wall and hoping it sticks.
The injuries, stupid penalties (1 by Beckham iirc), and a couple really bad throws by Eli are what lost the game. Its funny because that 1 Beckham penalty was chalked up as him being out of control when I actually see an illegal screen called weekly in the NFL on various WR's. Are those WR's out of control as well or is it just bad timing and they jumped the gun on engagement?

Hahahah - made me laugh
Maybe Eli can cry and knock over the Gatorade too. It's just passion at the position we haven't seen since Phil Simms.
For the person that says we need to get Odell the ball more
spot on. I don't care if he's triple covered. He's always open and when he gets the ball will do more with it. A good coach will figure out ways to get him the ball as much as possible.

UConn, the Brady comparison isn't a good one. Mainly because it's Brady throwing the tantrum. In this scenario, you're expecting another player (Eli) to stop doing whatever he feels he needs to do in order to be prepared for the next offensive series to console his star receiver.
Again, no one is pinning the loss on Odell or his tantrums. But we are recognizing the fact that they do nothing to help the team win and if it's not helping the team win, then it's either bad for the team or a distraction (which is also bad for the team). Right?
pretty sure when Brady goes bezerk, others may get knocked off their regularly scheduled in between series adjustments.
Point is, I don't know what happens when Brady throws a tantrum, and heck, maybe it works?
I completely get why people don't like seeing Beckham do what he does, i'd rather he didn't either. But there's no way i'm going to say it causes problems for this or that. That's a whole lot of assuming just to stick to a narrative that's being created.

Ok. Keep in mind, I didn't bring Brady into this.
Again, I don't think it's the root cause of any problems or the yesterday's loss. I don't believe the HC feels that way either. But it's something that can become an issue if not addressed. We've seen it happen so many times before I'm surprised that some think that our guy will be different.
All I know is that Eli finally started to forcefeed OBJ
and good things happened. I wish the giants and eli realized this sooner. Odell is one of the best players in football. Stop playing games and get him the ball. He can very clearly beat Norman whenever he wanted. They didn't change what they were doing. The had Norman on him with help over top(because Norman can't come close to covering OBJ by himself) and Eli barely looked towards OBJ because that's not what the coverage dictated. Then he finally realized that Odell needs the damn ball and good things happened(well, until he didn't throw odell the ball).
Regarding your last sentence, I don't think anyone is saying that (including the coach).
Admittedly, I haven't seen McAdoo's full comments. I'm just not sure how else to construe the second part of the sentence by the OP. Where is the evidence of this distraction? Too much importance is being applied to something that really wasn't important or impactful. The defense and offense followed up the "blow-up" with positive drives and if we're not attributing any of the subsequent negative plays to Odell's behavior, what the heck are we really talking about?
I saw this as well. OBJ is an emotional player. Did he go off the handle last season? No doubt. I was at the game yesterday. I didn't see anything out of the ordinary. No penalties other than maybe an illegal formation. He made plays. Where is the distraction coming from? It seems like when they lose it is time to pile on OBJ. How about the distraction of 7 turnovers to one recovery. How about the distraction of the center getting 2 stupid penalties and getting thrown out of the game or a player diving head first into someone negating a blocked punt. How about the distraction of 2 terrible passes that were picked.
It just seems like OBJ is being unfairly picked on especially yesterday. Could he have been more effective? Yes. But by no means is this comment warranted.

Disagree. Believe me, this board is riddled with people who can't see correctly through their blue tinted glasses, but this isn't correct.
Dez does what he does and then tells the media to go fuck himself and doesn't own his actions. Odell owns it and apologizes for it. He's hot headed like Dez, but he wants to be better. Dez thinks he's perfectly fine the way he is. I'd take Odell 100 times out of a 100 over Dez, and that has nothing to do with the fact that he's a better wide receiver.

No one is 'picking' on him.
I'm done.
Here is the headline I received and NFL Network Reported.
Ben MacAdoo calls out Odell Beckham Jr. "He needs to control his emotions better and be less of a distraction to himself and his teammates."
I didn't MacAdoo say anything about any other player publicly so I would say he was picking on him.

If it was in response to a question, I have no problem with it. Because ultimately, he's right. If he just threw that out there... unprompted... then I can kind of see your point... but still don't have much of a problem with it.
I agree almost 100%. It further surprises me how readily people are acting like 'nothing happened'
After 2 low penalty games we lost composure repeatedly. At least 2 OL, 1 multiple times, yelled in a CB's face downfield, and 1 gets ejected? Was more than just sticking up for teammates in the moment. We can't know for sure, but it all seemed JN related. That's a pretty big coincidence to just brush off
A game we knew refs would watch closely, OBJ is told he's got a short leash right or wrong, and he's freaking out, kicking benches, hitting the kicker's post (which save an unfortunate consequence was Frerotte's goalpost / Amare's fire extinguisher dumb). All that happened is we played JN who did much less this time. And OBJ throws a 5 yr old tantrum, even crying?
Others calming him down is by definition a distraction from the game. A legit concern for a team w/ as many mental mistakes, clock gaffes, etc as we've had recent yrs. Other teams experience with this is irrelevant (Pats are a bad example being, well, the Pats)
It's not the end of the world, but disappointing to see again after all their talk. Im sure this will be read as blaming OBJ for the loss which is NOT what I'm saying, but it's fair to say his attitude & the teams composure might have been related. OBJ has to be better given his stature
Eli Manning on Odell Beckham Jr. on WFAN: "He's an emotional guy ... When it becomes so public it can become a distraction."
Is that a real quote?
I don't know if that's a real quote or not. But I do know that Eli had to take his own head off of the game yesterday and hold OBJ's hand to help him talk off his tantrum. I'd sure consider that a distraction for Eli

Eli completed 4 of his first 5 passes on the next Giants' drive for 50 yards, including a pair to Odell Beckham. The distraction thing seems to be very overstated or simply imagined.
That was a direct quote from Eli, but it was preceded by Francesa telling Eli the McAdoo quote from the OP. Eli hesitated for a few seconds before answering.
can you imagine if Brady was any other player on the field that actually had to guard or avoid being guarded by another player?
Here you go. Brady - ( New Window )
I agree with Brady. What a fucking shitty example. He's the most accurate QB in the known universe and he was owning up to the mistake. PLEASE someone post instructions so I can ignore certain posters? Jesus fuck me with a spoon, I can't take you dipcuntsfuckcockheads.
Eli should run down the sidelines waving his arms and kicking shit over. Pull on his jersey and then pull out a stick of butter and mock rub it all over his hands. Then stick the butter up McAdoo's ass.
Then we can all talk about his passion for the game.
Our best offense didn't happen in the first half it was in the first quarter when we were up 14-3. We took our foot off the gas, we played scared after a good start. My point is Beckham was missed by Eli a handful of times and McAdoo didnt call enough plays designed to get Odell the ball until late in the game when it should have been the plan from the start as it should be every week until it doesn't work
people not see the irony in saying things like this and then bitching about not getting Beckham the ball enough?
Quote:

During the stretch, we had a good mix of running and passing and didn't target one particular player.
A lot of people are pointing at that as being an excellent example of the offense being good and then want to completely go away from that in their analysis of where things "went wrong".
Things went south when we started turning the ball over, not because we took the foot off the gas. We had turnovers and penalties that put us in a couple 3rd and forever situations.
RE: RE: Wow...
Really? I'd say the opposite...Those were the everyone hates Eli years. I highly, highly doubt too many were defending Eli back then. Until the run in 2007, there were only a handful of guys along with me, who defended anything Eli did.
Odell is one of the best talents ever. They learned their lesson from Coughlins awful leadership. Awful.
One handed catch no one else can make. Great catch + stiff arm vs elite rival CB + spin move + stop n cut n go to hit the 5yd line when no one else makes it to the 15
There isn't a receiver in history who does those 2 things back to back and makes it look easy like Odell. 0. Zero.
People can call him a hyped up bitch. And he kinda is.
But when he's hyped up. This game... Carolina game... He plays better. He plays fucking better. He carried this team on his fucking back in the 4th. Yet Eli passes to his 2 sherry tes. Feed the beast. He's as hungry as anyone has ever been. Feed him. Often.

he fed him late in games the last two weeks and he dropped passes, one beign a TD against the Saints.
A maniacal competitive gear which gets his adrenaline going so hard the guy is literally crying, almost involuntarily........it's almost Michael Jordan like in its fierce competitiveness. Maybe more.
Totally agree with your post. I think Giants have to understand how to channel this but I really think there is no way to bottle it up completely. Nor should they want to.
Yes, but I'd argue the saints game Odell was almost used like a possession receiver--he caught a bunch of stop routes. He got called once late deep which he dropped.
Last game was an indication this guy could get 150 yards a game if Giants used him like Antonio Brown. His drop was fairly small. And I'll take the rest of the 80 yard 4th quarter if it means a drop here and there.

He reminds me of Russell Westbrook. Both are straight up raw emotion on the field/court. I think it's fair to say that both are their own worst enemy.
If Eli talking to Odell on the sidelines for a few minutes can disrupt Eli's focus on what the goal/game plan is - then I don't know what to say.
+1
Same, makes no sense. Its similar to when a player in the offseason posts videos of something not football related and the people who scream at them to study film instead.
So it makes sense that Eli has to worry about his star receiver losing his cool (along with a fight with a kicking net)... if even only for a few minutes... when instead it would be best if... I don't know... said star receiver simply tries to keep his composure himself?

No it doesn't, don't really think anyone is suggesting that. In fact, I think any reasonable person would agree that it would be better if Beckham didn't flip out. That said there's a lot that happens on the sideline other than reading the playbook.

And hopefully as little of that as possible is a distraction.
to his team mates. So just STFU with that nonsense. If you think it is a distraction then you have never played on a competitive team before.
So now you're calling out the coach?
If that is what you think I am doing, then yes. Everything a coach says is accurate?
There are other NFL players and ex players who also have commented on this topic saying that this is not a distraction and would not be for them. You can watch the video and see no Giants even looking at him when he had a fight with the practice net. Nobody is looking his way.
I am not going to bring my own personal sports situations and experiences because I know enough about BBI that it will be dismissed since I did not play in the NFL. So, I will only speak NFL and will leave you with this...
I have had the opportunity to sit behind the visitors bench at Giants stadium for all of my adult life. I have seen it all. Too many examples to list but in general when players do shit on the sideline the other players are ignoring it. I watched Dexter Manley get so pissed off that he flipped the gatorade table over, cups flying, kicking the buckets, etc. NOBODY on his team cared. Some glanced over to see what the noise was and then turned away. I watched guys violently throwing up into the garbage can and nobody is phased. Hundreds of times screaming matches with the fans and the other players ignore it while the one player on the team is losing his mind.
These are professionals. They are not "distracted". That is something the media (full of people who don't know what it is like to compete) has invented.
Now, Ryan Clark talked about this too. He said OBJ is not a distraction. What he does is all within himself. He is not yelling at his team mates or his coaches. He is not screaming that he is not getting the ball. He is just IMPLODING. Then he compared it to Dez who starts yelling at his QB, shoving his coaches, etc etc.
If anything, I think some GOOD came out of this. To see Eli go over and speak to a player like that was something we do not see that often.
^^^ this. Stop worrying about distributing the ball to Will Tye. Get the ball to OBJ.
Clearly it would be better if he didnt do that. It doesnt mean he's not already aweseome.
This team doesn't have a Powerball's chance at another SB this season without Odell. No player in the game today has the same amount of talent Odell has and no one in our teams history has been as gifted other than Lawrence Taylor.
How does him, off by himself, getting pissed affect the team? Please show an example how this affected their play.
Again, does anyone think the team wouldnt be better off if he didnt spaz out on the sideline and cry?

Odell is above being criticized? Everyone knows he's an awesome player. Is anyone here suggesting it wouldnt be better for the team if he wasnt spazzing out on the sidelines and crying like a psycho path?

Behavior like this eventually wears out it's welcome. See Owens, Terrell. It's not good for the morale of the team. Odell is the best player on the team. His maturity level is important to the mood of the roster. If it didnt matter why were there multiple players trying to calm him down? Eli, Jennings and Armstead all were trying to calm him down.
Not to mention what if he broke his nose on the kicking net? Cut himself in the face and needed stitches. Lashing out, throwing temper tantrums and crying on the sideline OBVIOUSLY doenst help your team.
That's besides the point. Everyone knows how good Odell is. It's a given. Doesnt mean him slamming shit on the sidelines is unacceptable behavior.
It's coming...if he doesnt find the endzone soon.
I do remember Owens in tears about Romo saying, "That's my quarterback"
Are you sure he was not talking about his Game Plan usage of him for the first 3 qtrs?
Are you sure he was not talking about his Game Plan usage of him for the first 3 qtrs?
Wrong again. 2nd and 10 and he drops a ball that would have had us at 3rd and 2 at a minimum in a hey possesion late in the game. Stop slurpin' the sac.

What a load of shit.

Here you go.

I didnt start this thread or any thread on Odell Beckham. I also wouldnt waste my time worrying about Will Tye because he sucks and has no future in the NFL. I'm more concerned with the growth and maturation of the Giants best player.
Makes sense, doesnt it?

Then we can all talk about his passion for the game.
Hahahah - made me laugh
Maybe Eli can cry and knock over the Gatorade too. It's just passion at the position we haven't seen since Phil Simms.

Regarding your last sentence, I don't think anyone is saying that (including the coach).
UConn, the Brady comparison isn't a good one. Mainly because it's Brady throwing the tantrum. In this scenario, you're expecting another player (Eli) to stop doing whatever he feels he needs to do in order to be prepared for the next offensive series to console his star receiver.
Again, no one is pinning the loss on Odell or his tantrums. But we are recognizing the fact that they do nothing to help the team win and if it's not helping the team win, then it's either bad for the team or a distraction (which is also bad for the team). Right?

Eli having to go console him. He was, at that point, a distraction to Eli.
It just seems like OBJ is being unfairly picked on especially yesterday. Could he have been more effective? Yes. But by no means is this comment warranted.

No one is 'picking' on him.
I'm done.

I'm not saying anything close to this.

If it was in response to a question, I have no problem with it. Because ultimately, he's right. If he just threw that out there... unprompted... then I can kind of see your point... but still don't have much of a problem with it.
A leader?
Is that a real quote?

Here you go. Brady - ( New Window )
Then we can all talk about his passion for the game.
holy crap, that's funny
Our best offense didn't happen in the first half it was in the first quarter when we were up 14-3. We took our foot off the gas, we played scared after a good start. My point is Beckham was missed by Eli a handful of times and McAdoo didnt call enough plays designed to get Odell the ball until late in the game when it should have been the plan from the start as it should be every week until it doesn't work
During the stretch, we had a good mix of running and passing and didn't target one particular player.

Really? I'd say the opposite...Those were the everyone hates Eli years. I highly, highly doubt too many were defending Eli back then. Until the run in 2007, there were only a handful of guys along with me, who defended anything Eli did.
How dare he be critical of our beloved OBJ?
Ban this McAdoo!

So now you're calling out the coach?
Totally agree with your post. I think Giants have to understand how to channel this but I really think there is no way to bottle it up completely. Nor should they want to.

But guys who are just fans think they know better?
So did Phil Simms. It is the QBs job to kick somebody's ass if they need it. A QB chewing out linemen missing their assignments is not uncommon.

Same, makes no sense. Its similar to when a player in the offseason posts videos of something not football related and the people who scream at them to study film instead.
No it doesn't, don't really think anyone is suggesting that. In fact, I think any reasonable person would agree that it would be better if Beckham didn't flip out. That said there's a lot that happens on the sideline other than reading the playbook.

So it makes sense that Eli has to worry about his star receiver losing his cool (along with a fight with a kicking net)... if even only for a few minutes... when instead it would be best if... I don't know... said star receiver simply tries to keep his composure himself?

And hopefully as little of that as possible is a distraction.
montana - I agree with that.

to his team mates.
