Mods: Please ban Ben McAdoo for his lefty dog-whistling. ;o)
is he really kidding
dairborn : 9/26/2016 4:00 pm : link
that the discipline and poise wasn't there like it was in the first two weeks....if that was discipline and poise at an acceptable level, I will eat my own hat....we just got lucky.

IIRC, they weren't really heavily penalized the first 2 weeks.

Losing him is very unfortunate.
The Giants played with discipline and poise the first two weeks...
Dan in the Springs : 9/26/2016 4:32 pm : link
as he said earlier, they were the least penalized team in the league after the first two weeks. They played smart, disciplined football.

Making an error (like fumbling) is not the same thing as committing penalties. Procedural penalties (like illegal formation) are a symptom of a distracted mindset (lack of poise), and personal fouls are a symptom of losing your cool (undisciplined).

The Giants have to be better at both, like they were the first two weeks.
Damn, I thought it was

Maybe a fine. I love him, without him what would we be? Did LT ever get fined by the Giants?
Looks like Perkins

The biggest issue with Perkins is his "pass protection abilities" so Eli doesn't get hammered. Vereen was VERY good at picking up the blitzer.

I have faith that Perkins will become the third down back and "learn on the job" - maybe not week four but certainly soon.

We will miss Vereen on 3rd downs.

I don't have the stomach to see Eli get hammered again like the hit he took from Chris Baker.
Richburg cursed out an official over a holding call

Richburg was flagged for a late block on Redskins cornerback Josh Norman as the Giants tried to reclaim the lead with 14 minutes, 18 seconds remaining. He was penalized earlier in the game for arguing a penalty. The officiating crew considered them in the same category.

Why is Beckham being blamed for Richburg going after an official he has previous had issues with?

Why is Beckham being blamed for the team's issues when they committed 8 of their 11 penalties, including 3 of their 5 personal fouls BEFORE he flipped out on the sideline?

Haha. I bet you had to check your shorts after that.
I'm getting sick of hearing about The Duke already
PatersonPlank : 9/27/2016 9:27 am : link
Stop talking, and assigning it a name, and get the team to hold onto the ball. Same for penalties
I personally believe turnovers and penalties are on the coaching staff
PatersonPlank : 9/27/2016 9:36 am : link
If these things get prioritized then they don't happen. The one consistent thing about winning teams is they don't let them happen much. The Giants are a disaster in this area right now. No team will win football games with this type of approach, no matter how many other things they do well. McAdoo needs to clean this up now or he will be in big trouble.

I generally feel the Giants turn the ball over at a greater rate when they are "pressing" to make plays. This is probably true of many teams, but seems moreso with our guys. I will have to look it up but I think all of our TOs happened following a Redskin score that either put them in the lead or closed the gap on our lead.

Maybe the Offense needs to stop watching the scoreboard and play their own game each possession? Just venting because I didn't get it all out yesterday...
Interesting commentary
Carson53 : 9/27/2016 12:10 pm : link
by the Head Coach regarding ODB, although Beckham thinks
his behavior on the sidelines is normal.
Apparently it does take a 'village', he needs to grasp
it is a distraction to his teammates. Playing with passion
is fine, being a loose cannon on the sidelines, not so much.

On the second penalty, he was also seen yelling something
at Norman after the block, so that is taunting.

It wasn't a distraction that's the point I and others made. The team was already fucking up in the 1st half. This actually just sounds like a rookie HC who already lost control of his team and needed a scapegoat.

The whole "Duke" this "Duck" that is just stupid rhetoric now since his team and his stating QB aren't even listening to him. Only the Jets lead the NFL in more turnovers at this point.

"Got to protect the Duck"

Starting to get a very Ray Handley type of feel from McAdoo.

His first penalty was in the 1st half where he cursed out an official on National TV. WTF is talking about his 2nd one if you need two to get ejected.

This team needs more discipline on the field with the penalties and turnovers, no denying that.
That's on McAdoo, no doubt.
To say ODB's actions on the sidelines are not a distraction
at this point in his 3rd season, I just find a bit absurd.
Even Easy Eli went up to him the other day.
Something tells me Eli was the last guy he wanted to see
Mason : 9/27/2016 12:48 pm : link
Just saying other receivers may have been getting in Eli's face. Like a Tiki, Shockey, Plax or even Toomer.

Hell last year Antonio Brown called out the backup QB in the press. I guess he could have taken a shot at Eli in the press after the game like Cruz did in 2014 before his injury asking why the ball is going to JJ instead of him and Randle but Odell didn't handle it that way.

Already? Jeez.

Who's going to be the first to caption "Miss me yet?" on this pic?

I admit I have to get use to McAdoo demeanor after so long with TC
Mason : 9/27/2016 1:22 pm : link
For example, the officials have been giving the Giants unfavorable spots or I should favorable spots to opponents. McAdoo hasn't challenge them. I know Coughlin would have been all over those officials. I guess that is just one of the differences I have to get use to. Maybe that comes with experience.
