I almost said WTF but understand
Buffalo - ( New Window )
I have no issues with this

good for coach.
this could get interesting
Giantsfan79 : 9/26/2016 7:29 pm : link
the owner of the Jags has always said letting Coughlin go was his biggest mistake, and they're now 0-3. There might actually be a bidding war for Coughlin.

I have no problems with him coaching again either, but I'd prefer it be in the AFC.
If he's working for the league
Bill in UT : 9/26/2016 7:29 pm : link
can he use every team's gym?
could make sense, more likely in a team president kind of role
mfsd : 9/26/2016 7:30 pm : link
although I'm sure he's still itching to coach. Organization that's been mostly a joke for 20, would bring some respectability to them

The previous owner was Wayne Weaver who has admitted the biggest mistake was letting Coughlin go. The new owner, Shad Khan, has been very patient with Gus Bradley. But, Gus sucks despite his rah-rah attitude. His coaching record is 12-38, and is the second losing-est coach in league history. The only one who sucked more was an Eagles coach from their early days. That coach was also a part-owner.

With all the talent that Jax has, they never are able to put it together. Coughlin is very well-respected down here, and it wouldn't surprise anyone to see Coughlin considered if and when Khan dumps Gus.
I have a feeling TC, deep down inside, enjoyed

a little bit of yesterday's debacle.
The reporter did not mention
KeoweeFan : 9/26/2016 8:20 pm : link
that during the previous interval between HC jobs, TC spent a year consulting to NFL teams. That info takes the sting out of the reporter's inference re the HC job.
IMO this was an attempt to go for a headline.
Rex Ryan: This is called karma

Careful knocking the other guys' Coach, because someday your bosses may make him your boss

I kind of thought the same thing...Also said to myself the only thing missing from this debacle is Coughlin on the sidelines.
TC stay away from the

Pegula's. They seem to be a sick couple. And I don't believe for a second Coughlin would slice off Ryan's nuts by talking about any position with them that is already filled. Lastly, it would probably be in conflict with Coughlin's job with the league.

The broad, in particular, has a big mouth. She's having meetings with players to discuss the coaches. Coughlin might be reminding them about the degree of professionalism expected of ownership.

I was actually feeling bad for Rex. Kind of happy he slapped the Cardinals around. Bruce Ariens is getting on my nerves, lately. Way too much bluster for such a playoff choker.

I think he likes his players and former assistants too much to enjoy. But I bet he felt slightly vindicated. "See, it wasn't only because of me."
None the less, TC is from western NY (Waterloo)
JohnB : 9/26/2016 11:08 pm : link
Seeing him coach 2 years to right the ship at Buffalo makes total sense. But he's not going to as long as Rex has the job.
I miss the old man
Paulie Walnuts : 9/26/2016 11:10 pm : link
he would have been pitching a fit on the sidelines
TC is a good WR coach
est1986 : 9/27/2016 6:08 am : link
And I know he was in love with Watkins during the draft process. I think they had Watkins 1 Odell 2 and Evans 3.
I don't believe TC went there to discuss a job
jcn56 : 9/27/2016 8:12 am : link
First off, he's a league official and he'd have to clarify if he wasn't there on league business. Second, he doesn't strike me as the kind of guy to go fishing for a job when there's someone already in the seat. He allegedly didn't care for it when Cowher did it to him, and I'd be stunned to learn he'd do it to someone else. This just seems like the writer is fishing for headlines.
that would be very poor form
Enzo : 9/27/2016 8:25 am : link
out of TC if he met with a team to discuss a job where there's already a coach in place. Also, at this point in his life, TC doesn't need the headache of dealing with dysfunctional owners like these clowns up in Buffalo. And he certainly doesn't need the money.
Thanks for posting this
nicky43 : 9/29/2016 1:44 pm : link
I just want to thank the op for posting this. TC is such a great human being off the field that I am still wishing the best for him and always will.

I don't think he was there for a job but he does want to coach so much that I'm sure he made sure of it that this NFL position he has now cannot prevent him from taking a job coaching with any NFL team.

TC is a football encyclopedia and the NFL is lucky to have him.
