In addition to the points they raise, I think we're due to start getting a few turnovers ourselves.
Key to the game, IMO, is pass protection. Minnesota sacked Cam Newton 8 times on Sunday (part of 12 total QB hits). If they get to Eli that many times on Monday night, we're screwed.
Eli is going to be under even more pressure than he has seen thus far and if he continues to be loose with the ball we could be looking at another multiple INT game for him. I hope the OL can give Eli a pocket but so far this season it appears to me as if the time Eli has before the pressure starts to get to him is shrinking. I would like to see ore slants and crossing routes. It feels like we don't throw as many as we used to.
Game plan has to be to get the ball out of Eli's hands quickly....
let the play-makers do their thing. With that said, however, we do need to run the ball against them otherwise Eli will be in long yardage situations too. I'd hate for Eli to be throwing the ball 50 times in this game!
He doesn't have a strong pocket presence. He holds the ball too long and is not able to move within the pocket. I wouldn't be surprise to see the Giants have Eli roll-out more. He's good at throwing on the move... unfortunately it limits his options to one side of the field. Pick your poison.
are overreacting to last week's loss. The Giants played a shit game but it's not stuff that isnt correctable.
Last year we simply couldnt compete. It's not the same issues anymore. Clean up a few things and they can beat Minnesota.
While yes, saying its correctable is accurate, it's now three weeks of mistakes and turnovers. Perhaps Vereen not playing resolves some of the turnover issue.
Before too long, Sam Bradford is gonna wake up one morning
they would have fit into the same article as the Ravens and Vikings, by playing teams with a 2-7 record....
I think you almost have to look at this game as a must win.....you lose, then face the Packers in Green Bay, with a defense that has not lived up to it's billing, and whose players are starting to drop like flies...
Then, who knows what record the Ravens will have when we face them? This could spiral out of control after two close wins....
So it certainly looks like a must win, or Mac's first season could be in jeopardy.....
