Had this trade proposed to me, from a guy I'd been trying to trade with for a while.

I give:

P. Rivers
A. Cooper
S. Watkins
D. Pitta

I get:

Eli
S. Shepard
L. McCoy
T. Eifert

I think I upgrade everywhere except Cooper.

My team would be Giants heavy, but I can live with that.

Here is what I'd have in 12-team PPR:

QB: Eli/Prescott
RB: Gurley, McCoy, Yeldon, Howard, Dixon, Drake
WR: Beckham, Shepard, Landry, Eifert (no TE), M. Thomas, T. Williams, V. Cruz

Can't stand dealing with Watkins game to game status and Eli is an upgrade over Rivers I think. Plus McCoy helps me at RB and Eifert isn't far away.

I'd rather have Pitta than Eifert in a PPR
YAJ2112 : 9/27/2016 8:39 am : link
that said, I do think you come out ahead in this trade.

But you really need to do another deal with one of OBJ/Shepard, you're limiting your upside by having 2 WRs from the same team in your lineup.... and creating a crater of a floor whenever the Giants O has a bad week.

Yeah, I'm going to trade Beckham, I've got a few offers for him and I think he had good value. Hate to do it, but it will make my team better.

Looking to get Allen Robinson + for him.
It all depends on what you think of Landy
superspynyg : 9/27/2016 8:42 am : link
Is he a solid #2 going forward? I would not start OBJ and Sheppard on the same fantasy team.

McCoy is a def upgrade.
Landry
pjcas18 : 9/27/2016 8:46 am : link
is definitely a #2 WR in ppr.

if you have another trade lined up
UConn4523 : 9/27/2016 8:48 am : link
go for it. I also don't think its necessarily a bad thing to have 2 WR's from the same team as long as its the right team, which in this case it should be. It was the same with Jones/White, Thomas/Sanders, and a handful of others over the years.

I thankfully squeaked out a win this week, sitting at 3-0 with most points scored which was my goal to start the season. BYE weeks are erratic and I wanted as many wins as possible before they start because anything can happen.

I'm thinking about dropping Langford for a waiver pickup this week since he does nothing for me sitting on the bench for 4-6 weeks only to come back in a timeshare anyway. The question is, who to take? I'm thinking Pryor as the next best guy available is Darkwa but our schedule sucks and Jennings should be back.
if Beckham/Shepard
UConn4523 : 9/27/2016 8:52 am : link
are getting you 12/200/1 every week (I know it isn't a guarantee, but its currently happening, give or take, without Beckham blowing up), that isn't a bad thing. That's 32 points in a .5 PPR which I'd take every single week from my top 2 WR's. In my league you need 13.3 points per player to hit 120 points, which should win you most weeks, especially during BYEs. There's only 4 teams averaging over 120 points per week in my league and they are the top 4 teams in the standings.
I dropped Langford
pjcas18 : 9/27/2016 8:55 am : link
last week during waiver claims and he became a FA before the games, the team I played picked him up and put him in his lineup and taunted me before the games.

Langford did very little, as expected. Those 4.6 points were not a difference maker since for once I won in a blowout, but still felt good.
I know it's very early
pjcas18 : 9/27/2016 8:58 am : link
but Shepard is ranked #15 and Beckham #25 in my league.

I'd start both, but I think I can turn Beckham into a borderline 1/2 WR and a border line 1/2 RB.

Definitely without a doubt in a 12 team PPR. He's a WR2 in a 10 team non-PPR league.
Waiver wire question....
GuzzaBlue : 9/27/2016 10:32 am : link
I have the #1 spot this week and Jordan Howard is out there. My RB's are L. Miller, J. Charles, Ware, and Dwayne Washington. Should I use the #1 and move to the back? Wouldn't even really need Howard this week, but more of a backup/uspide play. I have stacked receivers which I play 4 (one is the slot).

I'd also drop Dorsett and pickup Dixon. Carrying 7 receivers right now (Robinson, Cooper, M. Jones, K. White, J. Gordon, Moncreif and Dorsett.
Didn't Gordon

If you don't use your waiver priority and can stay at the top, I would stay there for now. If your going to lose it, that's the only reason I say I would nab Howard. Otherwise, it's really not worth it.

In my league the waiver priority is dependent on how many claims you make, so if your #1 and get that claim, you move to the end of the list after that. With 14 teams, you need to be careful with the claims you make. I am currently at 5 and not making a move until I absolutely need to.

You seem to have a deep bench, and I agree Howard isn't going to start over any of your other players right now so its not worth it to me.
Gordon complied with the DNA test Warrant
beatrixkiddo : 9/27/2016 10:37 am : link
It wont affect his suspension, he is scheduled to come back next week.
I cant believe I won this week
dep026 : 9/27/2016 10:40 am : link
started Gronk and we know how that went. Miller got me a little, same with Forte. Bailey missed a FG and sat the Chiefs defense. And he had Tannenhill, David Johnson, and Allen Robinson. However the rest of his team like cooks, sims, tyrell williams, cobb, and carolina defenses laid absolute eggs.

Landry, Beckham, Ravens defense, and Brees carried me to a 2 point win. Sititng at 3-0 but hurting roster wise.

I have to start this week

Brees
Miller, Forte
Landry, Beckham (against Minny), and either Gronk or Pryor
My flex as of now is Howard

Some bad matchups there as well.
If Gordon comes back next week
pjcas18 : 9/27/2016 10:41 am : link
how much impact does anyone think it will have on Tyrelle Pryor?

I have a waiver claim in for Pryor, in my FAAB waiver league, just not sure if I should lower the amount with Gordon coming back.

I sat Snead and went into Monday night up 30 against Julio. Him blowing up for 10/150/2 was a big fear, especially without Vaccaro. Glad he put up a dud.
Made this trade yesterday. What do you guys think?

1/2 ppr 10 team league:

Melvin Gordon
John brown

For

Alshon
Latavius Murray

Wasnt feeling great about both players especially Murray losing a lot of carries. Love Gordon's outlook moving forward. I have green Marvin jones Shepard and Crabtree so I feel good about the position and brown has some upside as the season goes on.

Thanks beatrix. As your league, its a continuous line, so I'd move to the end. I was thinking the same thing. I do need another backup RB. I'm thinking Dixon is a nice stash for now. I'd like to save my #1 waiver for a playoff run or absolute must-add later in the year.

I was down 18 (thanks Gronk, Kelvin & Hopkins) going into the game with Cooks and Ingram going against nobody. They put up 20.6 and I won with a pathetic score. Thank God I traded for Ingram. 3-0 baby.

My buddy had Freeman and Fleener going against Brees and he ended up losing by 7. Poor bastard sat Tyrod Taylor for Mariota. Probably my fault. I didn't think the Cards D would crap out like that.

I would because you get the best player (Benjamin) and who knows if Howard will even be worth a weekly start in that offense (outside of a bye week filler). Jennings can have more value without Vereen, and if healthy he's a better weekly play than Howard (outside of bad matchups).
Question:

Who would you rather have the rest of the year in a non-PPR league -- Carlos Hyde or Tevin Coleman?

Hyde. No threat to carries other than injury and Kaepernick is not long for the bench there if you read between the lines of Chip Kelly's comments yesterday and while I don't think Kaepernick is great, he's better for the offense than Gabbert IMO.
I got a split answer yesterday
giantsfan44ab : 9/27/2016 1:33 pm : link
But would anyone do Blount for Doug Martin? I think the consensus was no for sending Marshall for Martin. I have Sims as well. As of now I'm starting Howard over Marshall. I also have Evans Cooks and Ty Williams at receiver.

Are you talking about Brandon Marshall? How are you starting a back for BMarsh?

Martin is going to be a bad play for a bit. He is actually on waivers in my 10 team idiot league. Tampa's next 3 weeks are Denver, Carolina and the bye, so the earliest expected play will be SF in four weeks. I read him as missing 3 weeks, so I wouldn't even expect him back until after the bye. Hamstring injuries tend to linger.

Blount will probably get you some more scoring. Maybe his opportunities will drop some, but Pats scoring will only go up.
i'm not sold on Martin
UConn4523 : 9/27/2016 2:31 pm : link
A. being good when he gets back and B. having a full load of touches. Sims is playing really well and just seems to have that gear and want that Martin hasn't shown. I wouldn't trade any starter for Doug Martin and potentially some of my backups as well.

Do you consider Blount a starter though with Brady back? I have Sims on my roster so I would lock in the Bucs backfield going forward.

I started Blount for Marshall this past week and I don't have regrets about that. Marshall is playing against the Hawks on the road and Howard is going against detroit at home with the other 2 Chicago backs likely out. I feel like its the safer play for the next few weeks. Marshall faces the Cards the next week. I think Howard will outscore Marshall over the next two weeks or so.
I actually just went in the other direction
giantsfan44ab : 9/27/2016 2:49 pm : link
and offered him Sims Marshall and Tyrelle Williams for Deandre Hopkins. Idk if he would do that but I think that may be too much on my end, no?

I hate this part of the season for trading. Everyone is in full overreaction. I know as sure hell I'm not going to get full value for Marshall but at the same time I'm probably going to get maximum value for Blount, but everyone has the stigma about him when Brady returns which is fair. But everyone in my league acts like he's completely useless with Brady.

Was talking to my friend about getting Dtom and he told me he thinks hes going to replicate last year's numbers, which hes already on way too slow of a pace to get 105 catches.
Blount is still a starter with Brady back
UConn4523 : 9/27/2016 2:51 pm : link
if anything they should be in the RZ a lot more. The question is really if/when Lewis gets back. That said, he plays for the Patriots and good luck with that on a week to week basis. I still wouldn't want to deal with Martin either, if that counts for anything.

True, but then should I be in the market to deal Sims? I don't think I'd play him against Denver or Carolina. And if Martin comes back I dont know if I would feel comfortable using him even in bye weeks. I feel like he's worth alot more to the Martin owner than to me.
I really can't say
UConn4523 : 9/27/2016 2:58 pm : link
hard to fully assess without knowing every detail (your team, standings, scoring, etc). For example, I wouldn't accept that Hopkins deal if I had Hopkins, but that also depends on how else is on my roster.

10 team, standard. I'm 3-0, 2nd in scoring. Had a bum week, was 2nd to last in scoring but lucked out and played the worst team in the league.

My team:
Wilson/Carr
RB: CJ, Blount, Howard, Deangelo, Sims. Vereen/Asiata both who im dropping.
WR: Evans, Cooks, Marshall, Ty williams
TE: Reed

His team:
Cam
WR: Jordy, Hopkins, Edelman, Jordan Matthews
RB: Gore, Michael, Martin, Gio, Ajayi, Riddick
TE: Walker/Bennett

I think he has one of the top 3 teams in the league. IF anything I would think he would be worrying about his RBs, not sure if he wants Gore as a starter. So I guess Sims would handcuff Martin. But looking at his team in detail he would probably want to package up players rather than add depth, which leads me back to thinking he'd probably want to offload Martin more than taking Sims. Idk if I would want to part with anyone besides Sims and Ty williams from my bench.
He also has Deandre Washington

so Sims for Washington or J Matthews

or Sims and Blount for Christine Michael?
I would for Jordan Matthews
UConn4523 : 9/27/2016 4:24 pm : link
he had a light game this past week, but they were also up big and just kept running. Still nabbed a TD though.

I wouldn't trade Sims for Washington though. Sims + Blount is a good deal, especially if you think Rawls' injury is worse than they say (which it has been to date).
owning Freeman

I'm off to a great start in my 10 team league and don't even have Brady yet.. 2nd place and 2nd most points.. just dropped 200 points this week.

Ryan, Brady
Forte, McCoy, Mathews, Sims, Ivory, Dwayne Washington
Julio, Evans, Marvin Jones Jr, Snead, Smith Sr
Reed, Eifert
Bailey
NE D/ST

I feel like with Washington's role expected to grow and the emergence of Sims, I can kind of afford to let go of Ivory. Or should I just stand pat?

Wow that team is loaded. I would stand pat though. I feel like Ivory might actually have the most upside. Yeldon hasn't been all that great. As the season rolls on you may have more suitors for RB depth (although unless whoever has Brown wants to trade him in desperation to you I dont see why you would make a trade).
You're probably right..

RB's are tougher to get a hold of, in a 10 team league I can always find a decent WR on the wire somewhere if I need. Ivory should come around. I'm always just trying to make moves but I really don't need to in this particular league right now,

I'd hate to drop Ivory, but I think I might for Pryor. Pryor's current role is making him a must start in any league, and until it changes I'd want him in my lineup regardless.
I way underbid on Pryor

Our FAAB was $200 to start the season, and someone bid $26 for Pryor. I bid $11.

Still not sure how to value players and we're just getting into the bye weeks. I have $180 left, but with never doing a FAAB league I didn't want to get caught later in the season being easily outbid.

Probably should have big higher. Hindsight.

this week to start TY Hilton @JAX over Dez Bryant @SF right?

I'm thinking with the potential knee injury and the fact his QB doesn't throw that much downfield, makes Hilton a better play. Plus with Moncrief out it seems Luck remembered who his best receiver is.

My other WR's are Allen Robinson and Marvin Jones (flex).
