Ortiz does the flip frequently. Tex did it to try and be a dick. Otherwise, very out of character for him and the majority of ballplayers as well, for that matter.
Donaldson is a bitch. Got grazed on his elbow pat and took umbrage. Happ was willing to come out in the 2nd inning of an important game to retaliate. Russell Martin picking a fight with Gary Sanchez after Martin caught and presumably called the two pitches to Headley was rich. And Joey Bats is Joey Bats.
Sorry to see his time winding down...I mean, his body's failed him the last few years and ability wise it's time for him to go, but he's been a good Yankee, and never let his declining ability at the plate keep him from playing a stellar first base.
Tex/Cano/Jeter/ARod in 2009 is likely the best infield in baseball history

Amazing how true that statement might be.
One could make a fair argument for the Big Red Machine of course. I would also say the circa 2004 Rangers infield of Tex/Soriano/Young/Blalock is one of the best in recent memory
It's awfully close, but I'm taking the Yankees. For those two seasons, the Reds have the best individual player in Morgan, but the gap between Jeter and Concepcion is huge and the gap between ARod and Rose is pretty big, too. Bench is a solid edge to the Reds and Tex is a solid edge for the Yankees. Yanks come out on top at 3 of 5 positions, and by a huge amount at SS.
But the irony of his getting hurt in a brawl that had everything to do with Donaldson being a bitch is amazing. And how fucking stupid can the Jays be? In a competitive postseason race their 20 game winner is retaliating in the second inning for a pitch that grazed Donaldson's elbow protector.
When it's used to show up the clowns in Toronto? Absolutely.
Last night in that spot yes. Tonight vs. Boston or any other team for that matter nope.
I was just praying that they did not blow that lead. Wow would that have been bad.

Joaquin Benoit has a torn calf. Devon Travis has a shoulder injury. Both stemmed from last night's benches clearing brawl. Not smart.
