Please explain just what Norman was trying to accomplish

It's likely been posted but in the thread aftermath following a bad loss, I just can't find it. To clarify; I am not saying there should have been a flag as I don't know what for. I simply want to know if anyone can figure out just what Norman was trying to accomplish by lifting Beckham up and carrying him towards the sideline (and the ref)?

Was he trying to carry him out of bounds before his feet touched? Is that even allowed? I know you can push a player out before they can get 2 feet in bounds but carry them out of bounds? Norman wasn't going for the ball that wasn't there. He actually, intentionally, stopped his fall, lifted him up higher, and carried him.

Also, why not, for the few people that said Norman should have been flagged. What the hell for? Holding? Taunting? Improper hand placement? Sexual Assault? What?

SHould have been Defensive Holding

But I believe it got ignored because we scored a TD on the same play
Let's raise this up a level

get used to it. NFL coordinators have generally figured out that Beckham is a problem and it might be a good idea to stop him. Variety of ways to throw an immature athlete off of his game and diminish his performance. After all, LSU is not exactly known for producing the brightest bulbs (Randle). Otherwise these guys would be playing on a disciplined WR team coached by Nick Saban (Jones, etc).
You did see Beckham jump up

over Norman as if there was a high pass coming. Don't know why he just didn't dump Beckham on his ass.
In case it's not clear

Norman is not big on impulse control. Beckham jumped into him, so Norman caught him and held him up. Why? Because. That's why.

Then Norman set him down without piledriving him because the ref was right there, and would've obviously flagged him for doing anything else.

Yes this makes the most sense. Thanks. I guess I was overlooking the obvious.
Yeah, I would guess it was him making the right decision

that time. Beckham must have been trying to draw a foul - what other reason would he have for jumping like that? Norman was initially fooled, but realized the ball wasn't there when he turned his head. At that point, he already had Beckham up there, and he probably had to fight the instinct to drop him hard, so it took a second to actually let him go.

Of course, he could have also been trying to needle Beckham into reacting himself. Good chance that was part of it as well.
Too bad

Victor Cruz doesn't have the leadership ability to work with OBJ. A main reason I was hoping Anquan Boldin would be signed. He is a leader. OBJ needs a father figure player to help him mature.
What was Norman trying to accomplish?

Is your keyboard stuck on stupid? Between this and the Ray Rice thread, that would appear to be the case.
