It's very different from Costco because it's geared towards restaurants. For example, If you want filet mignon, you need to buy the entire filet (usually about 7-8 lbs) and cut it up yourself. They will also come in several grades and the price is dependant on grade.
They sell fresh fish, which costco doesn't It's a very different experience and, if given a choice, i would but from them over Costco.

Costco sells whole tenderloin in both choice and prime
It sounds like you need to be in the restaurant business to get a membership with them.
"*Restaurant Depot is wholesale only. To qualify for a free membership account, on your first visit you need to show a valid reseller's permit (business license) or tax-exempt certificate (for a non-profit organization) and show proof that you are authorized to purchase for said business or organization."
Well I do have one LLC I keep active for small things even though I'm retired. But if they are asking for a resale certificate or tax exempt certificate it sounds to me like they don't collect state sales tax and then you run the risk of getting hit with a state tax audit if you aren't actually reselling the product. Using a businesses resale certificate to buy personal goods to avoid paying sales tax is fraud.
Anyone know if they charge tax if you wish to pay it? I wouldn't mind trying them out at some point.
but I find us using it less and less. Seriously thinking about dropping it when it comes due again. I have Grade A Shop Rite (our go to) and 2 Stop and Shops within 1 mile, Stew Leonards is 2 miles away.
RD is only meant for resellers or restaurants.. The portions they sell are way too big for even the biggest of families.. Also the quality of their products aren't the best as they are trying to sell to the corner deli or convenient store.. 90% of the products there would be useless to any Costco member..

What busy restaurant has time to go there?
It just seems weird to me....
