Not questioning his toughness or anything. Strictly curious.
I do not understand this response. There aren't instant MRI's. They take time and you have to be cautios when you get the information immediately. You have to slowly test it out. Muscle injuries are very tricky. A simple pull could keep a player out weeks. A tear can end a season. It says he might be able to play Monday. That is over a week later and he MIGHT play. Why would you think he should have went back in game?
These injuries turned the corner position back into the 2015 version
If you ever pulled a groin muscle, you can't even lift your leg -- it's the muscle that lifts your leg so you can move it forward. It's brutal. Pulled hamstrings are also excruciating. Add pulled quads to that list too. I've had them all playing recreational sports years ago -- you go down in an agonizing heap and need help to get off the field.
These are "minor" injuries compared to ACLs, fractures etc., but they hurt like hell and these guys are NOT pussies for not playing through them. If you don't let them heal, you re injure them.
I don't know if he should have went back in or not.
Guess my first assumption was that if it was bad enough to keep him out of the game, it would've been bad enough to stay out another week. Maybe I posted before my brain thought it through.
Look, I'm sorry ok? I've never pulled a groin. My muscles are made of graphene so I don't have the same issues you fragile humans do when it comes to these kinds of injuries.
After someone threw a bad ball to first in a softball game and I had to stretch weirdly for it. For 5 days I had to lift my leg every time I wanted to get in the car and the slightest movement would kill. I still can't run on it and have developed hip pain as a result of it and a clicking sound in my hip if I open my stride longer than that of a slow walk. Those questioning why he didn't return must not know how painful these injuries are. Cutting motions will result in someone looking like they were shot. It's very painful.

Eli Apple says his hamstring is improving. Taking it day by day. #Giants
Seeing the way he was gimping around on the sidelines and knowing it's a hamstring, I would be shocked if Apple played vs. Minny, or even the week after, unless the Giants' docs are to be found guilty of malpractice. Hammies that hurt that much, even in a 21-year old, just don't "heal" that fast.
He's dealt with a lot of nagging issues. He's a tough dude.
Diggs is a stud but aside from him, the MIN WR's aren't the scariest bunch. I'd love for him to give it a go if he can but if holding out one week will benefit him for the long-run, I'd almost rather he did that.
Anyone who has had a strained groin knows the pain
Yes, I'm aware that no tear doesn't mean no injury. Thank you.

Because why risk further serious injury in Week 3 when already clearly hurt?

Wait your question is if a player may be available to play in the following week, why can't he play in the following hour? Did I get that straight?

Same with Apple.
This....
My man seems like he's always dinged up yet always plays ... at a really demanding position (actually aren't they all demanding positions?).
DRC is a gamer.
Eli Apple has not tested out his hamstring injury yet by running, so sure sounds like DRC has better chance for Monday. Both still uncertain
Eli Apple and DRC said they feel good, but it's day-to-day with them, they both said. #Giants
Andrew Adams said last 48 hours were agonizing. Was uncertain about his place on the team until arriving at facility today. #Giants

It's only the other lousy options at TE that kept him on the team.

Wrong Adams.andrew is the safety that screwed up the blocked punt play Jerrell is the TE.
Also for this week, that Leon Hall signing is looking like a big one.
Jenkins and Hall would be a suitable set of starters on most teams. We really do have nice depth here... for now... wood being knocked on.
Heh.
