Ok, I'm all for freedom of speech and expression, but Noah is coming off like a moron in this instance, when there are photos of him yukking it up with the President, who is actually more directly responsible for our foreign agendas than West Point.

The cadets (or whatever the proper term is) at West Point probably cared a hundred times less than anyone in the media will.
Plus I got hit so hard one year (maybe my sophomore year) I skated to the wrong bench. I could have sworn it was an actual tank on the ice, otherwise beautiful campus great atmosphere and I loved being there.
I do reiterate though I don't think anyone cared that Noah skipped this event.

All good if you're not an NBA fan, but FYI Noah (although he's dealt with some injury issues) is a very good player. So-so scorer but excellent defender & rebounder. DPOY in 2014 (?).
Not that that should or should not legitimize his stance, but he's most definitely not the hoops equivalent of a 2nd string quarterback.
It was a bad trip but a beautiful campus.

When you distill it down, these are as much college kids as anything else.
I met this guy on a plane last year who taught at West Point. Either History or English, I can't remember. But i said to him. "It must be great teaching at West Point because all the students must do the reading and being really disciplined." Nope. Slackers, just like everywhere else. Constantly on their phones etc . . . . I thought it was more recent, but it was several years ago at Bulls camp. Only reason I thought it was recent was the photo showed him and Rose in blue jerseys, so I assumed those were Knicks jerseys.

To me, old-fashioned courtesy should be the rule. If I know you come from a military family, I won't say anything against the military because that would just be rude and needlessly offensive. Ditto for comments about race, gender, sexual orientation etc. . .. If you are hanging out with your African American coworker, don't call the boss a "slavedriver." If you are hanging out with your female coworker, don't call somebody a "pussy" or a "twat." That's just politeness and consideration.
