Is there a site to see how many times Eli has been hit

robbieballs2003 : 10/4/2016 1:05 am
in his career? I am not just looking at sacks. I have a friend that decided to tell me that Eli is scared and is just getting rid of the ball early because that is what he has done his whole career and, in return, why he has been able to stay healthy too. He then referenced an article where Eli has had the most intentional groundings over X amount of time. He has had 21 intentional groundings in 12 years. So, if someone can find the hits statistics that would be great.
I remember hearing that Eli was leading the league

in intentional grounding a few years ago over a period of time. That was several years ago though. People don't want to believe but Eli was routinely sacked in the mid 2000s with the likes of Snee, DD, O'Hara and Seubert. I don't know where the romanticizing of that OL pass pro really comes from. The Eagles and Cowboys use to tee off on Eli all the time with those guys.
Also I will add Eli would routinely be forced to scramble

with those guys a lot when he actually ran with the ball.
Eli is playing like he wants to prolong his career

by not taking unnecessary hits... can you really blame him? The downside is he looks like he's lost his big iron balls from 2011.
Baltimore, 2004. That game still lives on. Prob gets flashbacks.

But, it's not so simple, I don't think. When he doesn't trust the protection, he bails fast. When he does trust the protection, he will hang in there better than most and take the big hit to make the play.
2011 Championship game Eli was Hit 20, Knocked Down 12, Sacked 6

The issue is with him. He has been getting better protection than his early years. He used to get hit and sacked often in early years and threw the ball a lot less. Those guys were better run blockers than pass blockers. It has actually been flipped where he is getting better pass pro since 2010 but the run blocking isn't great.

People forget that Eli used to be forced to scramble and run for his life a lot in the mid 2000s specially against the Eagles.
Eli looked skittish before the game even started..

.
Maybe eli is thinking of avoiding the hits
micky : 10/4/2016 5:36 am : link
By grounding the ball or throwing it away because a) he can't run b) thinking of staying healthy and fear of injury

The last time he stood in there and took hits was that sf nfc playoff game in '12..now getting older may be thinking of his health moreso in back of his mind
Can't blame him for wanting to prolong his career.

Can blame him for his prolonging strategy being a major reason for a loss.
Ummm.....he just got de-cleated.....

....last week in the Washington game.
Eli has always been one to throw the ball away.

And it's amazing how many people look at those passes as just bad passes. (More in the outside world than BBI) If the play isn't there throw it safely out of bounds and "live for another day". I don't think he is scared to take a hit. I think his internal clock is quick, he knows how fast pressure is coming and that it is just better to burn the play than take the sack. It works better when your defense can make stops though.

he's starting to resemble Jim Everett at the end of his career. Hopefully no Jim Rome interviews are on the horizon
I also think ot was gameplanning too.

It seems like McAdoo is tired of the turnovers and that is his solution. My argument was not last night. My argument is that he hasn't played in this system his whole career and has taken some really nasty hits in his career and a lot of them. I am still looking for statistics on this not just opinions. Does anybody know a site for this?
