2. This really has to stop. Odell is fine. He needs to tone down the demonstrative displays a little, but that shouldn't be weeklong headline worthy.

What makes Odell so strange to me is how he is so different off the field and on the field during games. He parties and enjoys the good life socially, but he's very measured and just talks in a very blasé manner. He is lauded for being an exceptionally hard worker unlike Shockey/Dez. But then he gets on the field and he flips a switch and becomes a totally different person.
The fact that it's something that he turns into on the sidelines makes it a weirder but I think it also improves the chances of him growing up.

Well I am a huge OBJ fan but your comments here are just stupid. Shockey was the best TE in football at the time. OBJ is a smarter football player? How do you measure that? Retaliating against another player and getting penalties which help your team to lose is SMART FOOTBALL?

The Giants have made it clear OBJ needs to keep his composure. They have made it clear his behavior has exacerbated the situation. They have made it clear they value him as a player and person, and want to see him succeed. They have made it clear they need to involve him in the game plan earlier in games (and don't give me the number of targets argument, it's not the number it's the type and when they occur). They have made it clear they think defensive players are baiting him, and getting away with it. And they have made it clear that defenses are afraid of him, and will use every trick in the book to stop him. But OBJ must overcome and mature.
How is this anything like Shockey?
Can't wait til Francesa retires.
