WR Odell Beckham Jr.

October 12, 2016

Q: How big is this game following three losses in a row?

A: I think every game is important to win.

Q: Your quarterback has been under fire with criticism his last few games. Do you think that’s unfair?

A: Yes. I think when things go wrong everyone needs something to point at. It’s easy to point the finger here and there. Internally between all of us, we have to play better. We all need to do things to make it easier on him and on ourselves. Everyone needs to step it up.

Q: The first couple of games this season he was very good. Is he still the same old Eli?

A: Same. I don’t think anything has changed but the circumstance. Teams are finding ways to make it hard for us. We just have to adjust.

Q: You guys have had a lot of success the past two seasons. Why do you think it’s been a struggle so much this year?

A: I can’t answer that.

Q: There’s been a lot made of the cover 2 and the two-high safeties. That has to be something you’ve seen a lot of in the past, right?

A: I don’t know. They’re finding ways to make it difficult.

Q: Is it fair to call this a must-win game?

A: I don’t think it’s a must win. I think the only must-win games are the games you play in the division. All of them matter but those count more. If anything is a must win, it’s the division games.

Q: Are teams doing the same things over and over to make it difficult for the offense?

A: Same thing over and over again. Two-high safety, six in the box. They’re just making it difficult.

Q: Are you still convinced that this offense will have a breakout sooner rather than later?

A: It’s coming at some point. We just have to keep pushing. Keep chipping away, keep chipping away. The tree will fall down at some point.

Q: It seems like you guys changed things up on Sunday more than you usually have. Is that something you need to continue to do?

A: Where ever you’re told to go, you go over there. Execute whatever is called.

Q: When Eli is really on, what are some of the things he does that makes the receivers’ job easier?

A: I think it’s the checks. The position he puts us in. He’s beyond smart. I haven’t ever been around anyone who has that preparation week in and week out everyday. He’s prepared for it. He puts us in great positions and allows us to make plays.

Q: When he has a mini slump like this or the team does, he’s always been known to be unflappable. Is he still that way where you can’t tell if he’s feeling any pressure?

A: When you win games it makes it a lot easier for everyone around. When you lose, everyone wants to point the finger somewhere. Things have to be written and things need to be said. That’s just how it is, whether it’s the truth or not. That’s just the way the world works. You win and it’s like nothing ever happened.

Q: When you score there on Sunday and drawing within one score, are you confident that if you get the ball back there you’re tying the game?

A: Absolutely, but we didn’t get the ball back so it’s irrelevant.

Q: How much of the focus is on details across the board this week?

A: Just have to come out and be where you’re suppose to be when you’re suppose to be there. Execute what is called. Play at a high level. That’s all I can tell you. Everyone needs to play at a high level all around.
