Eli's recent poor play......The Defense NEVER stops the opposing offense at the end of the game....Poor production in the running game....The Offensive Line....Or penalties and turnovers? And if we lose on Sunday is the season "over" or do you hold hope?
Answers ...
I don't see us winning this week either .
We are getting beat in the trenches ..
The offense just looked horrible since that redskins game.
Also I'm concerned about the apparent form of the cowboys and eagles, especially with two promising looking QBs!

On the flip side the O-line is still a concern. Even when Eli isn't getting sacked and we do have protection he hasn't had the time to throw downfield very often.
rush.
OL problems might be fixed if Beatty plays LT and Flowers moves to RT. Not sure how we fix the pass rush. JPP isn't what he used to be. Vernon has a bum wrist. OO and Wynn try hard, but look like JAGs. Okrwara has flashed, but is a UDFA rookie. Harrison and Hankins are stout agains the run, but are not collapsing the pocket.
In order:
- The loss of Johnson before the season even started was a key component to giving Eli some time behind the line. Why the Giants didn't resign Hynoski once Johnson went down is beyond me. We need a solid FB that can block
- Tight ends that don't block
- Injuries to our CB's and FS
- Coaches going with too conservative an offensive game plan
- OBJ having emotional breakdowns
Easier said than done, right?
It's why Bill Belichick can suck as a GM so bad at times. He never ever is so married to a scheme if he doesn't have the players. He adjusts. Game to game if needed. And Kraft stays the fuck out of the football world.
Watching the game again last night with the radio broadcast, Bob Papa suggested that perhaps opponents may have caught on to the Giants tendencies when he brought the following stat in either the 2nd or 3rd quarter.
"96% of the Giants offensive plays this season have been run in "11" personnel"
Think about that...96 PERCENT! When you factor in the Giants had only used Beckham in the slot on only 7% of plays, the offense is pretty easy to figure out what they are going to line up in and where everyone is going to be.
If you are the defense, what else do you need to study? The alarming lack of diversity in the offensive set is causing defenses to not have to worry about anything else. No other formations, nothing.
If these two ever come into sync, we will probably be ok. We need some TDs folks.
I dont think he even needs to carry them. The defense is better. The run game has contributed at times. If he can just shake off the last few games and play to his potential, we are going to win games.
Teams just have the gmen figured out. That and being sloppy with turnovers.
The defense is, and will be, better than last year. It is already.......you aren't going to play great defense every game unless you're one of the very few teams that actually have it.
Not worried about BM, sometimes a coach has to grow into the position.....there will be some growing pains.
Jerry Reese should be fired for allowing the Oline to be so bad for so long. Eli is a pocket passer and he needs protection.

yep
2. "Offensive" Tackles
3. Last in the league in sacks/JPP and OV playing over 90% of the snaps
4. LB play--In particular Kelvin Sheppard getting meaningful snaps, Kennard not getting enough snaps and BJ Goodson getting no snaps
5. Injuries in the secondary
We were better off with them but I doubt they were punishing the defense.. Cowboys have been playing the same 2 deep safeties on us since OBJ made that catch.. and we've never made them pay for it.. we barely beat them this season..
the window is closing
No poonts
I do like spags and big mac as top coches, fine, but I am a bit worried about the rationality of the plan, the integration into it especially by the position coaches on both sides, O and D and the quality of the mid level coaching staff.
Spags and Mac both need to be tough, not polite internally, take control and make sure that the positional / unit coahes get the right moves and the right message over with clarity and emphasis.
We need to be aggressive, do shit that makes sense in doing so, and have the players know and buy into those activities.
watching giants game day sideline chatter on TV had me a bit worried in this regard.

For me, it's this. They are paying JPP and Vernon a king's ransom and they get blocked by 3rd string offensive linemen who are only playing because of injuries.
2. O-Line
3. Running Game
4. Pass Rush
Coaching - McAdoo simply looks overmatched, he is young but look at his counterpart in Philly with a rookie QB. For the Giants to be in last place with the only experienced QB in the division is as alarming a situation as the Giants have been in since before the George Young era, that is how pathetic I think Reese is, and this is his hire.
Scouting
QB - Last place with 2 rookies in the division, unacceptable no matter how you turn it.
1. Discipline (to include turnovers and penalties) which I believe, overall, got a little better over the course of the last 3 games.
2. Offensive Game Plan which is predictable and vanilla. Mac is probably a little over his head right now. Mac calling the plays is probably still preferable to Sullivan though.
3. A tie between OL and Eli Manning (and I'm an Eli Fan). Neither is playing well right now. Improvement from either will help tremendously. Now would be a good time for the 2011 Eli to show up. The one that dragged his team into the playoffs kicking and screaming. However, I think that Eli had a better OL blocking for him too.
The defense needs to be better, and they have been better than last season. I never expected JPP to return to any kind of form he showed before losing his hand. The loyalty by the Giants and Giant fans towards him always baffled the shit out of me. They just need to be middle of the pack defensively with the offense the way it played last season, only the offense is not playing like they did last season.
Could be a long end to the Eli era. Hope I'm wrong.
The second thing is injuries for what seems to be the 8th time in ten years the Giants lead the league in injuries...AGAIN!
