it says 5,000 lux. I'm not sure how the lux rating translates to lumens. It has something to do with the concentration of the light.....I like the lumens rating as it seems like a simple way to just rate how bright the damn thing is...
I recently purchased a Coast 360 lumen flashlight, and the thing is awesome. I want a similar light for each car (3) and at least 2 in the house, but at $40 a pop for the Coast, it would be an expensive move.
I think I know my answer, "you get what you pay for", but I'd like to hear if anybody has hands on with these lights.
I usually dismiss these "As Seen On TV" ads, just want to make sure -
Thanks in advance!

And this is why you don't talk about such subjects on a public forum.
You know, for times when advice from BBI just isn't cutting it....

Thanks Dan, I figured those reviews would be saturated with badly written positive reviews, so I didn't look....
These things can be had off the Chinese cheapo websites for less than 5 bucks.
Yah, but that's just spending money...my 1st house is paid for and I have a few years left on the mortgage for my 2nd house which I purchased back in 90, which was is almost negligible at this point....plus we're a double income household, so it's not paying for it that's difficult, but I still don't throw money away....thanks for your concern
I sell them to you, brand new in box, for $100.
How is 3 x $13 for headlamps "the same money" as one $7 flashlight?
"I can stick my head up a butchers ass, no wait...."
Invade Panama.
The Coast flashlight I have cuts through the night like a knife. If I just have to buy 4 more of those I will. It's 360 lumens.

Craftsmen hand tools, and I like their powered stuff as well. I have a Craftsmen lawnmower from 1996, and I've never changed the oil....never....and it starts on the 1st pull every time, well unless it's been in the garage all winter.....Table saw, Mitre saw...love it all. I think Snap-On hand tools have the same guarantee.
That the same one I have. Lowes had it for $39.99...love the thing
A co-worker has this one and its awesome. I just haven't been able to bring myself to spend that much on a flashlight. Though there are coupon offers out there to make it a little more affordable...

That's all it is, right? Look, if you want me to take a dump in a box and put a guarantee on in, I will. I've got spare time.

It's gotta be your bull.
Don't get me wrong I don't mind I just find it funny that anyone invests that much time of themselves into buying a flashlight.
My recommendation is still the same. Get yourself a Rayovac heavy duty and you can't go wrong. I think it comes in tree different sizes. I have a large one and a couple small ones and they have been great.

Buying a flashlight is a serious thing!!
LOL, I have purchased houses in less time
LOL, For the win
C'mon Man ... word has it around here you make 6 figures a year and didn't turn 50 yet.
Try COAST ... Good prices for them can be found at Amazon. LED Sensor is another good product that is small, cheap, and very bright (for the size).
Love COAST Flashlights. I have 2 A25r (kind of pricey but, rugged and very bright). It comes with 2 battery pack "cells" that are rechargable (Literature says up to 500 times each) and also uses standard batteries.
I also have their "HP17" (3 D cell size case). It is so bright you can use it to open a movie or land a plane on a foggy night.
Love Coast products.
The A25r is listed on the link provided by Mr Green for $183.00. Amazon was selling them for half that price. If anyone is interested ... Look around for better prices.
IMO, completely worth it. If I lost it, I would buy another one.

Yah I've purchased the H7...the thing kicks ass...I was hoping through the extensive experience of BBI, I'd find a powerful light at a better price, but in the end, you get what you pay for.....i'm a Coast fan and will buy more....
