My camel looks so tired
It's hardly worth my while
To tell you of my travels
Across the golden east
I see your preparations
Invite me first to the feast!!!
Take me I'm yours
Because dreams are made of this
Forever there'll be
A heaven in your kiiiiiisssss

Squeeze tomorrow night at the Cap in Port Chester with The English Beat opening. I've seen both groups numerous times in the past decade and they still sound incredible.

If you have a ticket or can get your hands on one -- its a definite must attend show. Gonna be great. Sold out the Cap in about 4 mins -- added a second show for Wednesday next week!
Sounds like a great bill

Haven't seen either band, but still can't listen to the Beat's "Save it for Later" any fewer than 3 times in a row. Just a wonderful song (check out Pete Townshend's version if you haven't).

And was checking out his video clip online......from what I could tell they sounded awesome, which really is what it's all about when you go to see a band live............should be a good show......Enjoy!
Was just playing a Squeeze CD to my kids the other day

I remember seeing them in 88 or 90 at Jones Beach in the rain. I think there was a recent music thread on BBI where the topic was underrated singers/voices, and I named Glenn Tilbrook. Good band, always a fun listen.

As for the Beat, I played the shit out of the Wha'ppen and Special Beat Service CDs back in the day. I remember checking them out because they were the t-shirt Sting wore in the "Don't Stand So Close To Me" video. The Police were (is) my favorite band, so I figured if they dug that music, there had to be something to it.

Speaking of Sting, at his Nothing Like the Sun tour at Jones Beach, he did a cover of Squeeze's "Tempted". I remember that pretty vividly.
Loved Squeeze as a kid, for the longest time I'd listen to their songs

and I would try and figure out just what pulling muscles from Michelle really meant. Was that British slang for something?

then when I was maybe 14 I saw the CD case for the first time and it dawned on me that it really meant nothing and it's "Pulling Muscles from the Shell".

unrelated....Up the Junction was one of my favorite songs as a kid, lots of good covers of that one too.

Goodbye Girl was a staple on my mix tapes too (LOL).

Just saw Squeeze 2 weeks ago

....very fired up. I've probably seen either Tilbrook solo or the band themselves every year since the mid-80s. If you're making a list of the most under-rated bands ever, Squeeze is at the top of the list.
