Miller especially was a great Yankee. Hope the yanks bring back chapman.
Anyway Miller is awesome, easily underrated by the masses and the best reliver in MLB IMO, he's nasty and has so much mental fortitude and is a great guy!!! It's insane how perfect he is..
Sure hope Frazier is a stud, and hopefully Sheffield can become a piece. Otherwise that trade will always leave salt in my mouth. Having Miller on the Yankees this year possibly gets us a wild card, and idk I sure wouldn't mind having him over Betances pencilled in for 2017 but nobody saw Gary Sanchez coming this strong so we will see but I wasn't massively pumped the Yankees traded Miller for Frazier + even tho I really really like Frazier it's still a gamble. Chapman was a no-brainer trade since he was a f/a and we can resign him or anything we want. Miller is cost controlled thru the whole 2018 season and not owed a raise till 2019
We are going to need to get a perennial all star, that is how good Miller is. I said it at time and I say it now, it was a dumb trade unless we couldn't resign him at end of next year. We would have best relief pitcher in baseball,it would be akin from Indy going from Manning to Luck. Elite RP's win rings for teams and Yankees fan should know that better than anyone

Mariano is basically the only reliever in history you could count on to be dominant year after year after year. They fall off of a cliff fast
The Yanks made helped them this season. All the kids brought up were already in the system.
I hope getting rid of 2 important game closers is worth it in the long run . We could have went on our run and still kept those guys and made the playoffs!
we would not have made the playoffs if we kept Miller and Chapman. List the games we lost but would have won after we traded them?
We helped set up the foundation of the next great Yankees team with those trades. Everyone inside the game was shocked at the haul the Yankees were able to get for them.
The Yankees weren't making trades to improve them this year, they were looking toward the future. By the time they had managed to rebuild themselves, Miller would be a FA and way closer to decline if it hasn't started already. Perfect example of selling high.
When you get the top prospect in a team's system, Frazier,
their top pitching prospect in Sheffield, and two big relief arms, you've done your job exceptionally well.
And when you land the Cubs' top prospect in Torres, along with two other prospects and Warren, you've done great again.
We'll need to beef up the pen again, but I love those trades.
The Beltran trade seems darn good as well....4th pick in last year's draft in Tate along with a couple of other pieces...can't do better than that for a rental.
We were going nowhere this year...we just didn't have enough of anything but BP strength to go anywhere. And who could have expected Sanchez to carry us as he did? Best first 50 games in history.
Now we've got a stacked farm system. And let's face it, as we've seen in the football draft, it's a crapshoot of sorts with prospects. The more you have, the more chance you have that a few of them will become major core pieces. Cashman's trades multiplied our chances of being perennial contenders down the line. Well done, imo.

Did you watch the Yankees in September? We gave up 3 3 run leads in Boston in one weekend.
to maybe squeak into the postseason and go nowhere from there. Brilliant. Far from a Cashman defender, but absolutely right moves. The hauls we got were insane. Some of the best prospects in all of baseball.
has really been a great argument for bringing your best reliever in at the toughest point in the opponents lineup, and not just the 9th inning, ala Mo in 1996. The "closer" doesn't always have to come in for the 9th inning. Very smart stuff from Francona.
Since I HATE Toronto, hopefully he Indians score some runs next game so he doesn't have to be used.

Frazier was the "top prospect" because the Indians had called up everyone else ahead of him. Let's not guild the lily here.

The guy hit a 500ft home run in High school??
Judge Sanchez Frazier is the Future meat of the line up.
Rutherford and Torrez may be special too. Future is Bright.
but the hardest trade for me to accept was letting Miller go. I think Frazier will be a stud, but we had Miller on the cheap and already had a farm full of studs for the outfield.
Regardless, I wish him the best. He was a good Yankee while in pinstripes

I think the Yanks have a real good shot at resigning Chsp,an in the off season.

Amen brother. We traded him so he could vanquish all those PED cheating scumbags on the Sox and Jays. Blessings be upon him.

The Cavs just won last year
Why not Babe Ruth?

Frazier needs to be as good a player as El-Gary Sanchez.
Why not Babe Ruth?
Seriously Fraizer is suppose to be a great hitter. In Sanchez league if you believe the scouts.
