Anyone know what channel the game is on? Fios says msg2 but it's showing Devils hockey. NBA tv says it's not being shown due to it being shown locally.

if you do a google search for
ChaChing : 10/15/2016 9:01 pm : link
and do a little searching around the first few pgs (and have a decent virus / malware blocker of course) you can get something. Yeah not great, but free...

Knicks look pretty good. No Rose / Lance / Randle, but the ball is moving, team D w/ Noah obv already looks better tho there's a ways to go no doubt. 2nd team looks much better on that end too. And the Gs...wow. Down to Baker & Randle our Gs / ball handling / team D / bball IQ is better. Even Sasha looks like the Sasha we hoped for - not too much burn but make some 3s, move in the O, and play a little D and he'll be useful. And Jennings really is playing smart & exciting ball fwiw. I truly am impressed w/ Holliday for 3-and-D, and of course Lee who's the starter's version of that...always liked his game and is a good fit

Loooong way to go, and by many D numbers we aren't playing so well by half (59Pts on 55% for the Cs) but we're playing well on O vs a top D. Certainly too many TOs w/ 11 but 14 As on 24 buckets. I really think Melo has a legit chance to have a career fg% yr. Surely it's preseason, but it's easy to get excited
ha and i didn't even mention 'billy' and 'cheese'
ChaChing : 10/15/2016 9:13 pm : link
who come in and make a couple nice early plays in the 2nd fwiw. Really excited about Kuz after watching the Olympics. He's athletic, likes to dunk on the run, can shoot, has a ton of O moves even on the inside it seems

Who knows if either pan out but given they are bench guys and after last year, it's good to see
This is one hell of a preseason game
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/15/2016 9:43 pm : link
Willy has a double-double.

Kuzminskas with 13-7-4.

right? Has the feel of a big regular season game.

Of course this kind of effort, general improvement up and down the roster and a Noah appearance would get the Garden rocking
Its great to have somee promising play
Canton : 10/15/2016 9:55 pm : link
from the rookies at the bottom of the roster.
I am really impressed by the passing ability of Hernangomez
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/15/2016 10:04 pm : link
He's got a lot of IQ.
Did Porzingis play? Is he hurt?
yatqb : 10/15/2016 10:16 pm : link
Every time I checked in, he wasn't in the lineup...but I was switching between 4 games.
yeah KP played
ChaChing : 10/15/2016 10:22 pm : link
i think a bit into the 3rd, maybe just the 1st half tho. 15 min total

They say his J has gotten much better and he's a bit stronger...looked promising.

Im psyched to see Rose & Lance back when it happens too
Thanks, CC.

Took him out for a reported mild groin strain, but it might have been a precaution. He stayed on the bench with the team.
missed the game - Willy and Kuz both with double-doubles -

did they look as good as the stats suggest?
Del, they absolutely did.

Big Willy and the Kuz: The big man bench duo provided some great minutes tonight while filling in for Kristaps and Joakim, with Porzingis sitting out the rest of the game with a sore groin, and Noah sitting because of a minutes restriction. After trailing for much of the entire third quarter, New York stormed back thanks to some strong play by their bench. Kuzminskas managed to tally a double-double with 18 points while showing off his range, knocking down three shots from deep. He also finished with 10 rebounds, and was a vital part of the Knicks comeback efforts in the fourth quarter, although they fell short. Big Willy finished with double-double as well, with 12 points and 12 rebounds.

Willy--who wants to be called Billy, for some reason--is extremely athletic for a 22-year-old big. Strong offensive rebounder, good passer, good hands, decent shot, decent back to the basket moves. Yes, he will take a pounding on defense for a while, but he has the frame to get much, much stronger. He has true starting center potential down the road, imo. His body is pretty well toned for a very young Euro big. That's rare.

Kuz played lights out, also with some flaws on defense. Excellent hands, excellent shooter, a true stretch 3-4 who played pretty well at the three.

Baker looked very good as well--smart, strong, excellent shooter.

N'Dour still needs more seasoning imo, but he is a superior athlete.

So, why couldn't they keep up? 1) Noah played well but missed some inside shots because he doesn't have his legs yet, and was on a minutes limit 2) playing so many rookies, the defense had lapses--not a surprise, 3) Against a quick team, they were missing two of their three quick pgs, and Vujacic just isn't built to withstand the athleticim the Celtics provide; 4) KP sat out the second half with a slight groin pull, 5)they haven't put their full offense in yet with Rose um, out of town.

The last two cuts on the roster are going to be very tough. Right now, looks to me like N'Dour and Plumlee, especially if one of them is willing to play in the D-League. Plumlee got his money already, so he might be willing to stay around. I'm assuming Amundson is gone. I would have put Baker on the list, but he had a bunch of very nice minutes playing with 4 starters, and Hornacek seems impressed.

Btw, from what I have read, either Rose wins the civil suit, or loses a relatively small dollar amount. The "victim's" former best friend shat all over her as the first defense witness.

I thought baker was going to be the first guy out the door
Ten Ton Hammer : 10/15/2016 11:53 pm : link
But he seems to have some staying power.

I don't think they need n'dour. Nice athlete but not ready to be on the short list for an NBA team.
I agree, Hammer.
manh george : 10/16/2016 12:08 am : link
He, like Plumlee, has guaranteed money--him for 2 years, Plumlee for 3--so they can both be parked at Westchester while they season unless someone else wants to pay them enough to grab them away, which is doubtful.

Unlike many other teams, Jackson is taking the D-League seriously as a minor league, which makes the Westchester location so important.
I like what Kuz shows on offense, but we'll need
yatqb : 10/16/2016 12:20 am : link
to bear with his defense and lack of physical strength for a while. But he's fun to watch.
Knicks need to find a taker for KOQ
Mason : 10/16/2016 12:54 am : link
because he shouldn't get minutes over Willy and I rather keep Plumlee because he actually plays low post defense.

Sorry but I can't see Sasha winning a roster spot over Randle. Sasha is still a crafty veteran but has looked old so far this pre-season on the defensive end. I get he understands the triangle when they run it so maybe that is his saving grace.

Not sure if Amunderson makes the roster but he is a defensive 4.

KOQ, Lou and Sasha are my cuts. I doubt they cut KOQ so it is probably going to come down between Baker and N'Dour for the young guys. Like both but think both are tweeners. Baker has potential as a NBA sharp shooter and can play team defensive but not so great in man to man defensive. He is too small for a NBA SG and not quick enough to guard PGs. N'Dour is very good athlete that can rebound. He can play the 3 but he will have trouble holding his ground in the post against stronger 4s.

Outside of injury I just don't see minutes for KOQ at the expense of Willy and Kuz.

Give credit where it is due. It looks like Phil finally added real NBA talent with upside. Looks like they have some tough decisions to make which is a good thing and sign of progress.
I really think that...
manh george : 10/16/2016 3:11 am : link
Jackson's strategy of giving guaranteed rookie scale contracts to players who aren't yet ready to contribute, but have upside, was a deliberate way to keep Westchester stocked with real talent, and then train them up and condition them over time. With Early and Inglas already there, add players like N'Dour and Plumlee, and then send over the unsuited back end of the Knicks bench and you have a real training environment, with instantaneous availability should someone get hurt.

It's classic Jackson finally showing up.
And yeah...
manh george : 10/16/2016 3:15 am : link
K O'Q and some cash to pay part of his salary for a couple more second round draft picks probably makes sense. Get some more Eurostashes next year, and open up a slot for a kid with upside.
Willy (Billy) and Kuz
mavric : 10/16/2016 11:54 am : link
are going to be great coming off the bench.

The Knicks played well, but Boston shot the friggin lights out in the first quarter. They could literally close their eyes and take a hook shot beyond the 3-line and it would be nothing but net.

Most impressed with Hermangomez and Kuzminskas. What a great pair of guys to come off the bench. Kuz had 18 pts, 10 rebounds, and 3 assists in only 19 minutes of play and played great defense.

It's kinda weird that the Knicks are setting up the future with 3 big white guys from overseas - Porzingas, Hermangomez, and Kuzminskas....and maybe add in Vujacic.

I'm just hoping the Knicks have a great season without injuries.
