Agreed.
Lose today though and this group needs to go 8-2 to win the 10 you'd think they'd need to win the East. That's not happening.

What I want to see
blueblood'11 : 10/16/2016 10:03 am : link
I want to see them take more deep shots down the field. With all the speed they have on the perimeter I am so sick of nothing but dink and dunk. Even if you don't connect it loosens up the defense. It gives them something else to think about and opens up the middle. I'm so sick of watching them play like they are in the red zone. Defenses pack it in against them. You need to unclog the logjam and make the defense defend the whole field.

It's so frustrating and disappointing to watch an offense with so many weapons be dictated to by the defenses. They say take what they give you. How about take what you want. Be the tone setter. You get the feeling the offense plays not to lose from the minute the game starts. There doesn't seem to be any conviction. Defenses have adjusted to the Giants offense and they need to do something different to counter it. If they don't it will be more of the same and more frustration.

They need someone to take the top off the defense......

other then OBJ, who will be doubled.....maybe they can get King in the game to go deep a few times to loosen things up a bit. Additionally, they HAVE to get the running game going and gain more then 3 yards on 1st and 2nd downs. I want to see them change up their tendencies so that the defense is confused and off balance, for once this year!

ColHowPepper : 10/16/2016 10:13 am : link
it does make one wonder whether the over reliance on the short passing game is the result of some self-scouting/assessment of the OL or Eli's comfort level, hard to avoid the thought. I agree with your notion, and it's baffling, particularly when in 2015 with fewer weapons at the receiver position Giants had a better deep passing game. But Richburg and EF are not playing well and the rest of 'em just adequate.
Maybe
Sammo85 : 10/16/2016 10:14 am : link
I think the Giants do match up well here today but they have to stop with the dumb penalties on both sides of the ball. Lack of momentum and aggressive scheme/play calling has hurt this team a lot even producing some features close calls in the first two games we won.

Flacco has been a strange QB lately. I could see the defense having an impact here for us today. Eli will also be one to watch to see how he comes out and whether he's showing signs of physical issues or just struggles. I'd like to see us come out and attack on offense.

This is a must win game. People may laugh with the Rams being next week but because it's a London game and the Rams do have talent outside of QB it won't be a pushover game at all in my mind. This team needs to go 3-1 in its next four games to maintain a shot at the playoffs.
The running game
JohnVB : 10/16/2016 10:17 am : link
Is not going to be effective. Look at how the Ravens def played the run this year.

The passing game is in a plus spot (again) and needs to capitalize. The defense needs to double Pitta. The Ravens WRs are pretty banged up.

There's no excuses for this game. The Giants have more talent and are playing at home. Take care of business.

The Rams defense is in shambles right now. They lost 3 DL to injury along with Trumaine Johnson.

opps , didnt scroll enough. I meant to say with the 2 high Safety looks its almost impossible to go Deep.

they need to attack the middle and run the friggen ball to get these teams out of that. Screen them to death too.
I would like to see better route running and some higher percentage
JFIB : 10/16/2016 10:29 am : link
Throws. It seems like lately any time Eli sees a receiver in single coverage he just heaves it in that general direction. I get that we want to take advantage of single coverage but the general "let your man make the play" is low percentage and I'd like to see us with better routes run.

I certainly understand the sentiment that the Giants ownership wouldn't fire McAdoo after one season. But, if this is a terrible season, 4-12 or worse say, then I think ownership might fire JR and clean house. It's very hard to say where ownership is coming from but I speculate they fired TC because they thought he was a big part of the problem; I think they fired him slowly because either there was not consensus on the opinion or they were not certain. Anyway, if JR is on the hot seat at the end of the season then so is McAdoo.

Excellent post. It s the reason I go into no game feeling confident. Problem is: if offensive line can t run effectively against cover two, or protect well enough to challenge teams deep, where are the answer.

To say nothing of tight ends who cannot exploit cover 2 or a
Defense that can
Rush the passer.

As infuriating as the offense and losses have been I have faith in McAdoo to get this right. We went 6-10 back to back, this hasn't looked like a 6-10 team, it looks like a .500 team who has played some serious competition. We need to find a way to win at home and hold the lead, one win will do wonders for this group.

I want to see the same out of the Giants. A well coached team pushing the limits of their physical talents. Innovative playcalling and clutch plays made by big names. Put it all out there.
Coach needs to have the team ready...

First off I was pissed when they defer the kick and give
Rodgers the ball at home . The took the steam right out
of us on the opening drive .
Change up the formations and if Cruz or Shepard are not
making plays or getting open get King Lewis Davis if active
involved .
Hopefully Donnell gets involved early and Jennings can
help jumpstart the running game .
Time for the Defense to get to the QB and take some heat
off the DB's ...Strike early and get the lead and not
go into fetal position on offense untill the game is over .

Really I agree but to argue the point.. Parcells wasn't given this same Giants team to start off with either. Our Roster now is better than its been since we last won a SB IMO.

to take advantage of the "cover 2" they will continue to be at a disadvantage no matter whom they play.

In five games you can argue that in at least 4 of them, the opponents offensive line controlled the Giants defensive front much better than vice versa.

You cannot win at any level if that is the case.

Thats Twice you called me out for no good reason if you
actually paid attention and realized that we have three
slot WR's OBJ being the exception because he is a
generational type player yet short and quick suited
for the Slot We need a 2nd WR with some size for Eli
to win contested passes and provide a better redzone
threat as in Jump Balls and shielding defenders away
due to there size .
Davis can provide that . I do look at the in-actives
I think Davis can help on the outside where Cruz is struggling .
