How do they improve the running game? They need a better running game then they're getting. Only reason we won today, was the pass D and OBJ.
By waiting another offseason to try and improve our OL again.
Hasn't it usually been thought that to really help your running game, you should have a back who is a threat to run wide and turn the corner? Like Larry Csonka and Mercury Morris? Like Tiki Barber and Tiki Barber?

That kind of speed typically goes high in the draft.
This has to be the stupidest, most undisciplined Giants team I've seen in thirty years.
How many personal fouls, unsportsmanlike conducts, and general lack of awareness plays are going to be tolerated?
Just a terrible team right now. Terrible.
They don't look any different than last season. The game they played against Philly last year on Monday night, for example, contained as much stupidity as today did. And that team was coached by a Hall of Famer.
Odell is what he is. However, there are too many guys who shouldn't be on NFL rosters right now that the Giants seem content on carrying week after week.
Can the players please not highlight when they're grabbing an opponents jersey by wearing these bright pink gloves?
As bad as that PI call was, the defenders of it will point to the split second he had some jersey in his hand (and that's what the explanation on the field was, right?). Not that it was bad enough to make such a drastic call - AC was essentially the receiver on that play and there's no way a WR gets called for offensive PI there.
Regardless, can we keep the pink down on the legs and feet only in the future?
The coaches don't seem to be making anyone care. Beckham being a moron isn't news, but he isn't the only one. Off the top of my head I also recall Donnell doing several stupid things, and we extended a Baltimore possession with an offside on fourth down.
If I'm looking at this team from an objective perspective, I see a total mess.
would win 3 games. The rest of the offense is JAGS or worse
Maybe, but it was curious that the first time the O looked good today was when OBJ was in the locker room. It was like Eli remembered how to throw on target.
We've been a mistake prone team for several years...dumb plays
when you're standing alone in the end zone with no one around?
Do you think that I want to spend almost three hours watching a tight football game go back and forth only to have the outcome changed by that penalty.
Am I going to continue to watch NFL games if I know that the outcome can be decided by some action that has absolutely no effect on the way the the play of the game.?
If you have to do something, fine the player.
RE: RE: Anyone else tired of Odell and that stupid net?

That's probably more about Eli than Beckham. Beckham did a lot of his damage after that point.
It's prettty clear that there are several people here who hate Odell
The one that gave them the first down.
I rewound to see because I didn't notice anything odd and didn't hear them call a number. Didn't see anyone move early. It was a tough angle to tell, but maybe the guy on the line closest to the ball was lined up in the neutral zone? I thought that was odd because usually they specify that in the call.
Dude gets 222 yards and 2 TDs and all you could talk about him is him taking his helmet off and then the inconsequential albeit tired net celebration. Fuck you Boomer.
Maybe the most fun win since super bowl 46? Hope that Green Bay gives us some help and we are just 1 game out in the loss column and the schedule gets easier. The D has been better than expected this year but we really can't afford anybody to go down on that dl, they are paper thin there. This has a chance to be a fun season where they are playing key games late with playoff implications. Today's win was huge making that possible. Big difference between 2-4 and 3-3

Agreed. It was like something reset in Eli's head or something at that point in the game.
Of course, it also had to do with running the no huddle, I'm sure.
With all the shenanigans, we're 3-3, which is pretty much the same as we've been the last three seasons. Where we go from here will determine whether we're trending in the right direction.
RE: I really don't think I say this through Giants colored glasses
The officials very nearly handed the Ravens the game. There were 4 critical calls or no-calls in this game that all negatively impacted the Giants in a HUGE way:
1) No PI on the throw to Lewis in the end zone
2) No PI on the 3rd down throw to Shepard that resulted in an INT
3) PI on Cromartie -
4) Roughing the passer - He didn't take more than 2 steps. It was 2 steps and not a big hit.
Matt,
1) No question a blown no-call
2) Disagree, much closer call and no clear show of hands or upper body to SS's before the legs tangled. I wanted a call, but hard to argue the no-call
3) As many have said, atrocious, indefensible call, and Triplett should have told the BJ to pick up the flag
4) It's an easy call to make, a harder one not to make, and a stupid, unnecessary play by OO, two steps is one too many
The one that gave them the first down.

Ref call was 89, which is Jerrell Adams, the rookie TE.

He's not the play by play guy. He's the analyst. Greg Gumbel was on play by play.
After some of his comments, it's hard to believe he played in the NFL. Giants up by 4, and he's saying "Baltimore has to kick the field goal here, to make it a one score game".
Giants need to step on the Rams after their 11 hour flight. Then week 9 is an NFC East showdown.
The Vikings are coming off a bye week too. I think I saw on twitter today that the Rams defense is really ravaged with injuries right now and it got worse today, but I didn't investigate it much further than that. Then it's the bye and 3 winnable home games and a trip to Cleveland before December comes. Can't ever get ahead of yourself but there is an opportunity for the Giants to be in the drivers seat when December comes around. I'm still having a tough time knowing what to make of the strength of our division despite the early success it has collectively had

The way the game turned out ... The Ravens would have won if they had done that needing only a fg at the end ... There was plenty of game left when they went for the TD so making it a one point game then is not that bad a call ...
but the officiating in the league just isn't good enough. You can't have a game that's so precise, played by world class athletes, managed by dozens of coaches, ultimately officiated by a bunch of real estate lawyers who take a few months off during the winter.

I can agree about #2, but #4 is where I really wanted to make sure these weren't Giant colored glasses. 2 steps is not 1 too many. IT is nearly impossible to stop on a dime. More than two steps and I agree 100%. 2 small steps, I'm not so sure.
Taking the helmet off was stupid, but I'm not sure it means he's selfish. But, when somebody told him about it on the sidelines right after he got to the sidelines, you could read his lips saying, "Let them throw it" with a motion of throwing the flag. That is equally stupid. I really don't like giving up 15 yards after most of his scores, especially in tight, back and forth games.

and here is the gist of it...
1. We gave them 6 points on turnovers in our own end.
2. We had first and goal on the 1 and settled for 3 (left 4 points on the field).
^^ so far, we fucked ourselves for 10pts.
3. other than 3-4 throws to OBJ, the offense has absolutely NOTHING.
4. We only ran for a total of 38 yards !! Yet we kept trying on every first down. We knew it and so did the Ravens.
5. We are still killing ourselves with the penalties.
6. The call on DRC and the non call on the INT going to Shepard were ridiculous.... and I am someone who never complains about the calls. However, if we take care of #1 and #2 on the top of my list, neither call makes a difference.
Summary, the defense played well enough. They still bend too much for my liking. The offense still has serious problems despite the nice game by OBJ. We cannot win consistently by the big play. If we cannot learn how to move the chains and put drives together then all we will do is get these small meaningless wins on occasion... like a pig with lipstick. We actually should have beaten this team by a lot more.

i'm just sick of all the jackassery, even on Cruz signaling
first down while trailing 10-0, a running broad jump in the end zone, please enough of the me me me. and on top of that panzy ass football, thanks Goddell.

the non call on PI on the sheppard/INT was a good non call.
the DRC PI was absolutely pathetic, as was the non call of PI against Lewis.
there was a lot of excessive celebration after the first OBJ TD and we got away with that one.
