Ben Roeth ..... ouch

SethFromAstoria : 10/16/2016 10:55 pm
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has a torn meniscus in left knee and will have surgery Monday morning. No timetable for his return.

Sucks. For them, the league etc...

Don't take our QB for granted. Seriously. If you're one of these people who do, wake up.

Info on Ben. Amazement at the durability of his peer who gets shit on hourly but is ridiculously underrated and yeah that does include durability (knock on wood) in a sport where everyone gets hurt, most seriously.

They'll still win the North. Huge loss because it very well could take what was looking like a 2 seed away.
Wow that blows.

the AFC is wide open for the Pats.
Only getting it trimmed

So I expect maybe a few weeks before he's back
Appreciate Eli, folks

For all intents and purposes, the last time the Giants had a starting QB who wasn't injury-proof was 1999.
Too bad for Big Ben
trueblueinpw : 10/16/2016 11:37 pm : link
Really is amazing though that the Pats get a Big Benless Steeler team next week. Pittsburg looked like one of just a few tough games left all seasons.
They still have bell and brown
micky : 10/16/2016 11:39 pm : link
Expect them to manage it. Yes eli has been very very fortunate.
Over the years they have done surprisingly well

in Roethlisberger's absence. I think when he was suspended they went 3-1 with Charlie Batch. In 2012, when Ravens won Super Bowl, they beat Baltimore in Baltimore with a backup (can't remember if it was Batch or not). Last year, they survived without him for a few weeks. If he comes back within six weeks, I think they will be ok.
Should be 3-5 weeks
adamg : 10/16/2016 11:57 pm : link
according the internet sources on the injury type for what that's worth. Looks like he should be back in time for us unfortunately.

yeah...but I stopped thinking it was entirely "luck" years ago. There is something to his decision making about how and when to take hits, and also toughness as well. I find it impossible to believe he's never been hurt more than just a little sore. In the playoff game against the Niners he got his ass beaten up and down the field. He didn't miss any time or any plays. It's not all fortune in my opinion. Then again I think he's better than ok or pretty good.
Interesting.

Usually it is a fake injury when he throws an interception.

Are you seriously that tightly wound and locked onto defending Eli that you couldn't tell he was making a joke about Roethlisberger?

Tightly wound after that game? That game result has me feeling pretty damn good. Who do you root for?

I don't really think i defend ELi...what's to defend? He's great. If you think otherwise you're not.

remains firmly planted up Patriots ass.

Not that Pittsburgh would have won but they had a chance at least, but now the Patriots play the Steelers next week with Landry Jones at QB. In Pittsburgh.

Is this your thing? Questioning who people root for? I root for the Giants. I can see how with my handle that might have been difficult for you to figure out though, Superfan.

And to answer your other question, it's clear because the behavior the poster references is something that Roethlisberger does, and is not something that Manning does.

Thanks for confirming that this thread is about Eli, and not Ben (as you so transparently tried to claim).
Ah, I see non-Rangers fans are getting the full Seth experience

You're not missing anything. The thread is not actually about Roethlisberger. It's an excuse for Seth to continue his Eli deification.

No. I've just observed that when Ben throws an interception, he is always hurt. He does the same thing when he fumbles. This time he was hurt for real.
