NFT: Mattress advice

MookGiants : 10/17/2016 11:37 am
I need a new mattress, and don't know where to begin as far as what my best options are. I don't want to go crazy but don't want complete bottom of the barrel either. What's a reasonable price for a mid level queen mattress? Where should I go to buy?
Mattress shopping sucks

The manufacturers sell the same mattress everywhere but change the name, so it's almost impossible to compare pricing.

The link below will give you everything you need to know

from Costco for $400 at the beginning of the summer. Great mattress so far, excellent return policy, but memory foam isn't for everyone.

But we paid $900 a few years back for a Serta pillowtop. It was their midrange model. Very happy with it.
FWIW I didn't do any of the research before I bought mine

off Amazon for 300. Went off the reviews and couldn't be happier with it.
Just go to Costco

they have affordable mid range Sertas and traditional mattress stores are shady and overpriced. If you do go to one, bring cash and haggle the fuck out of them. Mattresses are very negotiable items.

What I would recommend before you buy, however, is bouncing up and down on the mattress yelling "who got that good D?? I got that good D!" just to make sure it'll hold up for you and your girl.

Good luck man.
If you can, try it out

Seriously - I brought my own pillow with me the last time I went mattress shopping and tested out a number of them. It makes a difference being able to see how you'll feel with your own pillow. And if you can wait until Veteran's Day, there will probably be sales, depending on what you want to buy and from whom. Happy shopping!
I had very good luck
