Miller. You feel "shocked" if anybody makes contact against him.
Biggest loss of the trades for the Yanks. I know they got a great return, but I always felt Miller was the best closer they had.
Hope they can get help for Betances.

Miller was a great loss but the Yanks needed more than a season or two to turn things around, and the shelf life of a closer over 30 just doesn't suggest that keeping him would have worked out for us.

No doubt - can't have your cake and eat it, too. But at least I have a reason root for the Indians...even over Chapman and the Cubs should the get in to the WS.
and love seeing Miller being Miller. He seems like a great guy. A Cubs-Indians series would be worth the price of admission. The best part of this is with Encarnacion and Bautista as free agents and Tulo sure to break down momentarily hopefully this is the last we are seeing of this scumbag Jays outfit.
RE: even if the prospects they got for Miller flop Â
Doesn't care about roles, just wants to win. I'm sorry he came to the Yanks at a time when they weren't competitive.
nice guy too. My son met him last year working for the Yankees travelling baseball camp when they were in Norwalk. Said he was really nice to him and all the kids.
Bu I think it's going to be difficult for the Indians not to win the World Series. Given how hot they are and the way they are playing, and Miller is pitching, can they be beaten 4 times in 7 games? The answer of course is yes, but I don't think it likely.
There are circumstances involved making the Jays lose. It's so obvious. But we shouldn't discuss the circumstances here. Everyone in the Jays locker room knows about the circumstances.
absolutely positively not pharmaceutically influenced, that was rumored to be stealing signs at home for years, is complaining about 'circumstances' getting in the way of fair play.
i know you want to put a team away, but a young kid on 3 days rest when you're up 3-0? I'd have him throw game 5 and then he can still pitch a few innings of relief in a game 7 if needed.
MAB, good thought, agree, and with the Bauer drone fiasco, marshall those mound resources carefully

Neither team has won in a long time. For some reason I just don't want the Dodgers in the Series.
I confess to growing up a Brooklyn Dodgers' fan, but gradually losing mania over the years, but I have to say that CK gets the juices flowing again. How do you root against this kid? Some here say GOAT and he's so damn likeable. Too bad his Sunday nighter went so late, not a lot of pub on that game. That said, I don't think he's going to be enough against this very talented Cubs team.
But I attended a friend's wedding in Cleveland 5 years ago and caught an Indians game for his bachelor party. They wound up winning with a walk-off grand slam, and that was honestly the best live sports event I've witnessed.
Would love to see them pull this off for my wife and her family, except for her mom.
are three outs away from the World Series. Miller pitched the 7th and 8th but I'd be pretty damn tempted to leave him in for the 9th and just pull him if he gets into trouble. Dude is a machine. One of those rare trades that could work out amazing for both teams. Hopefully.

That hopefully works out for both teams. It sure puts some pressure on the kids the Yankees got in that move because Miller has become arguably the most important player on a team about to go to the WS.
He and Hill are a good reminder not to give up on talented LHP because some of them just need time.
And after outspoken Blue Jays outfielder Jose Bautista ominously referred to “circumstances” preventing his team from winning, the Indians latched on to the term and used it to tweak Bautista. And since no one “circumstance” seems to have done more to prevent the Blue Jays from scoring runs than dominant Indians reliever Andrew Miller, the Indians have taken to referring to Miller as “The Circumstance.”

that's great - good for Miller. Sorry to see him go although I understand the reasoning ...
I thought they really started getting screwed with strike calls. That idiot should've had enough sense to keep his mouth shut.
I'm still happy we traded Miller... I just wish we got more for him. But, a relief pitcher isn't getting a team's 2-3 best prospects regardless of how good he is.
Sweep the leg.

The Indians are doing the Lord's work.

Absolutely.
I love Francona. No bullshit "book". Goes with his best when they need it most.
The Indians are doing the Lord's work.
What's so bad about the Blue Jays?
Don't get the hate; I hate Cleveland after the 90s.

Trading him was still the right move. The Yankees were going nowhere this year, and probably won't be next year either.

Did you see the Blue Jays at all this year? Bautista? Donaldson? Biggest bunch of babies in the league right now.
Toronto right now

Works for me!
lol, that's basically correct, although I prefer the Cubs.
Don't feel bad at all for those Blue Jays fans...they could barely name a player on their team 3 years ago...they're already on to hockey season.
But seeing the Red Sox then the Blue Jays players vanquished in back to back weeks? Fucking priceless.

Wanted the Blue Jays, have no problem with them.
