I think if you want talent you have to pay for it. Its the price for screwing up in the draft.

That said, I was hoping they would sign Sean Smith instead. Jenkins has looked much better than Smith so far and I'm more than happy to eat crow on that one.

He has been outstanding. Hopefully we get Apple back after the Bye. Even though he has been good not great Vernon was overpaid.

He was actually the guy most people complained about as the major "overpay"..

Looks like he actually might have been the best signing of the bunch so far.

But I am happy to admit I was wrong. Jenkins has been the best FA signing so far and he is playing at all-pro level. You constantly notice him on the field in a good way for a change. Jenkins and Collins have really been the defensive stars so far. When Eli Apple and Thompson get healthy this secondary is going to be outstanding.

I like the cut of his jib.

signing secondary guys.. every time he pays them big money they seem to be worth it.. DRC, Rolle and Jenkins.. Now only we can get that same result from the drafted secondary players..

The biggest knock on Jenkins was his the fact that he took too many risks in coverage and would often allow a big play of TD as a result. Perhaps our secondary coach has helped him in that regard. He is very good in coverage and if we can ever get a better pass rush from the front 4, our defense will be sooo much better.

AND he's probably a good source of information on the Rams this week. Although I don't know what McAdoo is going to do with "Case Keenum sucks."

I wonder if that play was more on Adams than Jenkins. He might've been expecting safety help there.

Was going to say that he did miss the coverage on the long Wallace completion down the far sideline in Q4 (I think), but as giants#1 said, maybe he was expecting help from Adams. He has been refreshingly good.

But to your post, Jay, "when [we] get healthy...", it remains an open question how long they both stay on the field once they return, presumably after the bye, especially DT.

and the play he got beat on there probably isn't 2-3
other WR's that could have caught up to that football
the guy has wheels ..
We haven't had a playmaker like Jenkins in quite some time .

I thinks that probably the best point. In 6 games, he's already shown that his ceiling is a LOT higher than Prince's. There will be some ups and downs at some point, but the all-around talent is evident.

Didn't forget Snacks, I just think Jenkins has been tremendous. Also I said "might have been".. they've both been excellent.

I get the feeling that Vernon is going to bust out at some point too, but that wrist is worse than he's let on to date.

He was matched up with a TE who brought him over to the side of the formation they ran towards and he shot the gap and took out the RB's legs before he could get momentum into leaping over the pile. Like everyone he was the signing I was least excited about in comparison but he has undoubtedly had the biggest impact thus far. Big play and after big play in every game. Though all 3 additions have been among our best defensive players each week.

Wade has had some good moments in the slot. On the outside, he sucks

Rams strength is defense and thats where his knowledge is, though he might have a few tidbits for the defense to exploit with known looks and his inside knowledge.

has played pretty damn good so far, and they have needed him.
I still have JPP getting 4 sacks and OV getting 10. He's got some catching up to do to get to double digits, but I still think he does it.
Even with the defensive FA spree, the Giants going from worst defense to middle of the pack would be dividends if the offense can play more like they did last year. Hopefully this past week is a sign of things to come, and the Giants are out of their early season offensive funk.
I like Bobby Rainey too, I think he can fill Vereen's role and then some.
