Q: How does Todd Gurley differ from some of the other running backs you have faced and how difficult is it to get him down once he gets that momentum going?

A: He’s a down-hill runner. He’s a very good running back. All running backs aren’t the same. We just have to play him well.

Q: Low center of gravity with him, though. He’s not a very high target to tackle?

A: We just have to execute what we do well. We play the run defense very well, so we just have to go out and play some great football.

Q: They still look like they’re a heavy run-first team compared to other teams. Does that even emphasize more how you have to stop the run early?

A: Yes, big time. We have to stop the run. Looking at film and getting there. Todd Gurley, he’s a very good running back. We just have to execute up front. Be in our gaps. We’ve been playing the run solid this year so we should do a good job of that.

Q: For people that have not seen much of Case Keenum, what do you see in him as a quarterback?

A: He doesn’t have a lot of film, but he’s doing okay. I can’t really speak on him. The film that I got, I’ve been watching him. I’ve been reading a few things. I’m just studying film. We have to go play him. This is a different opponent. We just have to go out there and do our best. I’m pretty sure the guys are studying him, too.

Q: Regarding the London trip, do you think it’s more of a mental adjustment or physical adjustment for you to have to deal with this kind of road trip?

A: It’s a game. We have to go play it. We have to do our jobs. Everybody has to hydrate well and get some sleep. We’re playing early. Well, it’ll be early here. It’ll be (2:30) there but we’ll be alright.

Q: Have you talked to guys that have made the London trip already to figure out how it is?

A: Every guy is different. You don’t really know how your body is going to react to it. Whether or not the players are going to get jet lagged or what. I’ll be ready to go.

Q: What kind of difference has Janoris Jenkins made for you guys?

A: He’s a playmaker. I know I can count on him to be back there and do his job. He’s been playing excellent since he got here. I see it in him. He’s hungry. He makes a lot of guys hungry around him. He’s a great player. He’s a playmaker.

Q: His former coach Jeff Fisher thinks he’s playing better than any corner in the league. Janoris is humble and didn’t want to comment. What do you think?

A: I’m not worried about any other corner in the league. I’m worried about him. I see what he’s been doing and he’s been doing a great job. I don’t have to worry about a top wide receiver catching over him or whatever. If it does happen, it’s not happening constantly. It happens rarely. There’s times when he breaks on the ball and I think he’s beat but he’s right there. I don’t have to worry about him. I know he’s going to be there to do his job right.

Q: Has he surpassed your expectations?

A: I knew he was a great player. I could just tell. The way he moves, talks and plays on the field. You could tell when a guy has talent and is a playmaker or not.

Q: Have you gotten the sense that he’s excited to face his former team?

A: Not yet. I don’t think that’s going to be an issue. I don’t even think he’s worrying about that. I just think he’s going to go out there and play some great ball. I’m pretty sure he’s excited to play his other team. At the end of the day, you don’t know where you’re going to be at. Just to play your old team, I’m pretty sure he’s going to have a great game.

Q: Any talk about the fight the last time you played the Rams?

A: I don’t even know the last time we played the Rams. There’s new players on this team. It’s totally different. I’m pretty sure that everything is gone out the window. We just want to go out there and play football.

Q: What kind of impact does Aaron Donald bring to an LA defense?

A: I don’t know. I’m just worried about our team. We’re going to try and go out there, get this win. Go off to the bye week. Take care of our body and come back fresh. It’s a new season again.

Q: Do you remember that fight against the Rams?

A: I don’t. I’m pretty sure every team fights. There are fights at practice.

Q: How important is it to have a win going into the bye week?

A: It’s important to have a win every week. You never know. This is the game of football. That’s why we play it. You win some and you lose some. Your goal is to make it to the playoffs and try and make it to the Super Bowl. We’ve been lacking getting to the playoffs. Four years, whatever. That’s our main goal. Just to win this game. It’s one game at a time, no matter how good or how bad a team is. I’m pretty sure their coach is preaching what our coach is preaching, it’s one game at a time.

Q: It’s almost midseason.

A: One game at a time. It’s still early. The year we went to the Super Bowl we were 9-7. No one gave us a shot to win that. We just won those important games that we had to win. That got us in there. We just took it from there. You could tell what type of team we were going to have. Right now, we just have to take it one game at a time.

Q: Do you think there will ever be a full-time London team?

A: I don’t know about that. We’ll see. It’s a long way, six, seven hours. If they have a team in London, they’re going to have multiple teams in London. The NFL is international now. It’s been that way for a few years. We’ll see.

-I don't know. We just have to play good football.

And no, I don't blame him. Just a funny observation. Vernon seems to be the same.
