Heading down to Charleston for the weekend. Looking for recommendations for watching the games on Sunday. Would like a place with nice big TVs and good beer/food and lively scene. Thanks BBIers.
As for places for a game, I'd consider Bay Street Biergarden. It's a bit of a walk from downtown, but it's got a lot of TVs and a decent craft brew selection.
Downtown, there's this place called Mac's. It's a Chicago themed bar, but I watched a Giants game there back in '15 & they had no problem putting the game on.
what the beer laws are in Charleston. I almost think hard liquor is a no-go all day and since it is a tourist area, beer and wine can be served. Just not sure if the serving starts at Noon or 10AM.
I would suggest the Rutledge Cab Company on the West side of town. They open at 10am on Sunday, and you should be able to wet your whistle at that hour with a Bloody Mary or a Cold One -- their Craft Beer list is awesome.
By half-time, you'll be ready for a Burger. They serve a Red-Eye Burger which skips the Mayo and goes with a Fried Egg on the stack.
I don't know where you're staying in downtown, but the Carolina Ale House is making a big push for the best Sports Bar title. They have a good pub menu and plenty of TV's.....but they don't open until 11am on Sunday.
The weather has been spectacular here all week and the weekend is supposed to be beautiful as well. This is the reason we put up with August down here.
as someone who moved from the Northeast to here can attest to. The weather is perfect, the city is a lot of fun and there are tons of great places to see.
I have the NFL Sunday ticket. I should be able to stream NFL network for the Giants game right?
Can't wait to get down there.
