Fantasy FF - 10/20

giantgiantfan : 10/20/2016 12:24 pm
Couldn't find a thread for today, so thought I'd get it started. Point me to existing thread and I'll delete.

My question starts at the TE position in a PPR.

TE Options: Jack Doyle vs Julius Thomas

I have Eifert stashed away, but he is unlikely to play I would think.

At RB I am currently running with Christine Michaels and Melvin Gordon with Todd Gurley, Jacquizz Rodgers, Chris Ivory, and the injured Doug Martin on the bench.
I'd go with Doyle
YAJ2112 : 10/20/2016 12:26 pm : link
nice matchup for Thomas, but with Allen banged up I'd go with Doyle
I'd start Doyle
pjcas18 : 10/20/2016 12:28 pm : link
too, are you sure Eifert isn't going to play? I thought I read he's practicing. Not sure even if he does play they don't ease him back into things, but I'd check on it.

And I'm not sure I'd sit Gurley
pjcas18 : 10/20/2016 12:30 pm : link
the Giants generally have a good run D, but nothing like what Gurley has faced most weeks this season.

I don't think I'd start Michael @ARI over Gurley vs NYG.
Eifert practiced again without a brace today.
arcarsenal : 10/20/2016 12:31 pm : link
He's starting to look like he may play and has a great matchup if he does.

True and I have him stashed away in one league too. However, I would not chance using him in his first game back. Would rather go with a guy who has been giving consistent production at or near double digits.

If your choice is between Eifert who is "starting" in his first week back vs a guy who has no track record at all... then sure go with Eifert.
Yes to Doyle
kash94 : 10/20/2016 12:42 pm : link
and I would still start Gurley. They'll give him carries regardless and Giants have given up 3-4 rushing TD's I think past three weeks

I think a 20 carry, 80 yard, 1 TD game for Gurley could be realistic. Not game-breaking in a real-life scenario but enough for fantasy
got Cam and Newton out
UConn4523 : 10/20/2016 12:48 pm : link
with Riddick questionable. Need to pick up a QB which I'm not doing until Sunday when I know inactives. Probably go with Alex Smith at home vs the Saints if no one else picks him up.

I wish I knew what was going on with Riddick. Picked up Washington in case he can't go, but I need that roster spot for a QB as I don't want to drop one of Smallwood/DeAngelo/Dixon. Too much potential value for a 1 week QB rental.

I just traded
Mike from SI : 10/20/2016 12:52 pm : link
Christine Michael, Diggs, and Cameron Meredith for Antonio Brown and McKinnon in non-PPR.

Thoughts? My team is pretty good and has a good chance to make the playoffs, so I'm willing to put up with a few down weeks for Brown while Roethlisberger is out. (I have Cooks, Allen Robinson, and Marvin Jones, so I don't even need to play Brown if he falls off a cliff for these few weeks.)
I'd drop Dixon
pjcas18 : 10/20/2016 12:53 pm : link
I had him and gave up on him.

West just looks too good. I don't see any reason for them to even ease Dixon into the rotation with West running like that.

And you can always pick him back up can't you? My league is FAAB so I can drop and re-get anyone if I want them enough.
For Eddy Lacy

In other news though apparently he gained back all of the weight he lost in the offseason sigh - back up from 235 to 265

options would you start this week in a 0.5 ppr league? Davis goes tonight, so I'd need to decide before 8 if I'm going to put him in. I'm leaning toward starting Davis tonight and see picking the other sunday morning.

Matt Forte
Arian Foster
Theo Riddick
Darren Sproles
Bobby Rainey
Knile Davis

I'm a fan. I know Brown's production may go down a bit but he's still their top guy - even on bad teams top receivers put up ok numbers.

It's funny those I have literally those exact same receivers minus Robinson (incl Brown)

I just know as soon as I do that West will suck or get hurt, and Dixon will find himself as a bellcow. Not sure if its worth dropping for a 1 week rental. I'm inclined to start Anderson and Booker Monday night and take the L.

I wouldn't touch starting Davis tonight. I'd start Riddick and Gilisee and revise as needed this weekend.

might be the last of the three I would go with. Eifert and Thomas are coming off injuries, but I don't know what scoring you use where he is "at or near double digits." In my non-PPR ESPN league he put up 11 last week and had a big week one, but he had less than a full point weeks 4 and 5. More than half the time he put up under 4 points. I would probably go with Thomas against the Raiders.

Oh, and I'd start Gurley too.

It's a hard spot because Riddick was out last week and didn't practice yesterday. You're right that Davis isn't a good option because he's only had a few days with the team, but he is their only healthy RB right? Bears run defense isn't good either?
Montgommery
UConn4523 : 10/20/2016 1:11 pm : link
is apparently getting all of the carries and Davis just started practicing. Unless its a ton of misinformation, I wouldn't feel confident starting Davis. Half those other RB's should get you 5-7 points. David could get you as low as 0. I wouldn't take the risk, but that's just me. If Riddick can't go, just plug someone else in.

Yea, you're probably right. My team is actually good cause I went with zero RB strategy but it's not fun picking this sort of crap to start each week.

Arian Foster - doubt he gets a big workload after Ajayi's performance last week. They gotta stick with the hot hand (at least early) and BUF's D is pretty good
Theo Riddick
Darren Sproles
Bobby Rainey
Knile Davis - only 2 days of practice with the team, but the only healthy RB. I'd probably gamble with him.
Mike Gilisee - if McCoy's out, he'd probably be my top choice from this group, but too early to know

Last time I tried something like that with a Packer RB was starting Rondell Mealey (in place of an injured Ahman Green). That didn't work out all that great.
I'm definitely not starting Jackson..
arcarsenal : 10/20/2016 2:08 pm : link
But I picked him up just in case he plays well and winds up getting the bulk of the carries for a few weeks.

Also stashed Starks in my other league.

which two would you start?

1- Yeldon
2- Ivory
3- Don Jackson
4- Sproles
5- Mathews
6- Gillese

Thinking Gillese + Yeldon for now due to the poor defenses they play. One thing about sproles is that minny has given up a ton of receiving yards to RB's

So you wouldn't start Jeffery this week over a guy like E. Sanders?
I'm prob not going that far,
Keith : 10/20/2016 4:14 pm : link
but when it's a guy like Hoyer vs Wilson, I'm not going with the guy on the rd thu night.
Jeffery over Sanders is close
giants#1 : 10/20/2016 4:15 pm : link
I'd go Sanders if it's PPR.

But I think he was referring to benching Wilson in favor of Hoyer. Most leagues have guys on waivers that are likely to outproduce Hoyer any given week so starting him on the road in a Thursday night matchup is gutsy.
Im desperate
Fish : 10/20/2016 4:25 pm : link
therefore trying to catch lighting in a bottle. Wilson has been brutal and playing on road vs Cards is not what the doc ordered therefore considering Hoyer with x4 300 yds games in a row. (Side note: I have howard going as well)
Who would you start
pjcas18 : 10/20/2016 4:31 pm : link
in PPR:

Howard @GB
Yeldon vs OAK

Normally I'd start Howard since he won the starting job, but Oakland is giving up almost 7 yards per play and the most yards per game in the league.
Green Bay has like 3 CB's
UConn4523 : 10/20/2016 4:37 pm : link
out tonight I think. They are banged up. I'd probably lean towards Hoyer unless you have a better option available in FA.
Is Jaquizz Rodgers worth starting over Travis Benjamin ?
DennyInDenville : 10/20/2016 4:37 pm : link
This week ?
i think so
UConn4523 : 10/20/2016 4:44 pm : link
he's got no one else and its guaranteed volume. SD WR's are very streaky.
I'd start Rodgers over Benjamin
pjcas18 : 10/20/2016 4:47 pm : link
no thoughts on this dilemna?

Howard @GB
Yeldon vs OAK

I think I'm going to yank Howard from my lineup. Start Yeldon. Yeldon sucked last week, and Ivory vultured the TD, but I think they'll have to pass a lot and that means more Yeldon.
Yeldon
UConn4523 : 10/20/2016 5:03 pm : link
Carey is going to steal time, as is Ivory I guess. I'd just go with the better matchup.
Thanks also how about Hunter Henry or Julius Thomas?

arcarsenal : 10/20/2016 6:10 pm : link

Keith : 10/20/2016 6:12 pm : link
The Associated Press' John Wawrow reports "a person with direct knowledge of LeSean McCoy's hamstring injury" told him that McCoy will be a "game-time decision" week 7 against Miami.
This directly contradicts a report from ESPN's Josina Anderson, who reported McCoy isn't expected to play and could miss multiple weeks. Wawrow isn't a typical Rotoworld source, but it's worth noting nonetheless. At the end of the day, the Bills will likely hold McCoy out to prevent him from further injuring his hamstring in a very winnable game against the Dolphins' bottom-barrel run defense. It's a tough game for McCoy owners to miss out on, but Mike Gillislee is a very capable fill-in.

basically says that they have been getting a lot of inquiries about his position status. For now they are keeping him as a WR but they may change it in the future.

I know they want to be careful here. This could just be a one week thing at RB for him. I remember back when Colston was a rookie. They had him listed as a WR/TE. After his first week of great production, I picked him up on waivers and played him at TE all year. It was really unfair for the rest of the league because I had a TE with WR production.
.
Cruzin : 10/20/2016 11:27 pm : link
We've had several questions about Ty Montgomery being eligible at RB. He only qualifies as a WR for now. We will update if that changes. Please refer to the Packers' official roster below: http://www.packers.com/team/players.html
Montgomery should be involved until Starks comes back
Cruzin : 10/20/2016 11:31 pm : link

If he gets RB eligibility he could be worth 5 or 6 catches in PPR plus the yardage, I wouldn't expect too much though.

The smart play here is to grab Starks and put him on IR where available. He should be a solid starting RB for the stretch run and the playoffs.
He had 9 carries
UConn4523 : 10/20/2016 11:37 pm : link
and I don't think McCarthy changes the depth chart. People bitching about it are nuts.

Agree on Starks, going to put a waiver claim in on him after this week. I'd grab him now but I have my last spot taken by a backup QB with Cam on BYE.

and I need help. There are ten teams, and we can start 3qbs including one at a flex position. I did the math and a lot of teams don't have enough qb's to cover bye weeks. I grabbed 4 good qbs, and don't know who to sit this week. I have Brees, Stafford, Rivers, and Eli. I generally leave 20-50 points on the bench at the QB position and it could hurt me this week. (I'm 6-0)

Also trying to decide on K, Gostkowski or Tucker. I've picked the right K every week and it's giving me monster points for the position. Usually I go with the one that had the bad game last week, but for 2 weeks now they've been very close.

I'd bench Eli, London games are typically slop fests due to the travel/field and OBJ is gimpy.
