likely means
giants#1 : 10/20/2016 1:46 pm : link
1. This is 'new' info and the Giants/NFL weren't aware of it at the time of the first suspension
2. The NFL/Giants are trying to cover their asses now that this info was leaked and another PR nightmare is brewing

I'm sure everyone's already made up their minds on which option it is.

Couldn't they bring back Bullock and not have any change to the cap?
Saos1n : 10/20/2016 1:47 pm : link
They were already on the hook for the whole salary this year...

I said from the beginning
David in LA : 10/20/2016 1:58 pm : link
Giants should have just cut their losses and moved on. They are operating a business, a kicker is not worth the distraction and PR backlash.
No, silly man, that's Raul Allegre
Greg from LI : 10/20/2016 1:58 pm : link
.
Even if the docs weren't available
ron mexico : 10/20/2016 1:59 pm : link
I assume they asked him a question or two about what has transpired between him and his wife.

So either the Giants knew and made their decision based on that or Brown lied, in which case he should be cut.

Raul Allegre. Gogolak was #3. He used to live in Darien, had "GOGO 3" on his license plates.

+2 we need a good, reliable FG Kicker and Gould would be a decent replacement, but there's got to be others available. Bulloch sucked! What's L. Tynes doing these days?
Am I remembering correctly,
Pete in MD : 10/20/2016 2:08 pm : link
wasn't Allegre's first name widely mispronounced as "rawl" and not "rah-ool"?

Didn't Tynes get MRSA from the Bucs training facility a few years ago? Think he sued them, too, and rightfully so. Don't think we've heard anything about the guy since. I wonder if he won his lawsuit.

yes, Nittmo is an extremely sad story

I'll bet Morten Anderson could still drill a 45 yarder

I don't know, that was a bit of a stretch for him in his final years. His range is probably closer to 40 yards now.

And even with KOs from the 35, he probably can't reach the end zone!

Whoa..didn't know..thats very sad..wow
out of curiosity
giants#1 : 10/20/2016 2:22 pm : link
Andersen was 25/38 (66%) on FGs from 40-49 yards out in his final 5 seasons. 1 for 3 from 50+.

And it's been almost 10 years since he retired (2007)!

This.
C'mon, you know how this goes.
jcn56 : 10/20/2016 3:13 pm : link
The NFL says wait, we're going to suspend him. They make a statement, say the evidence was suppressed and in light of new evidence he's violated their policy and they're suspending him for a year (or however long), and then the Giants cut him.

I thought Tyne's infection basically cost him his career?
That said I bet Tynes

I'm assuming you meant Brown..what did Tynes do? (I know he a brother in federal prison - but Lawrence didn't do anything right?)

He might have a British passport since he has dual citizenship. His mother is Scottish.
Giants n help is a spot
joeinpa : 10/20/2016 4:10 pm : link
This is a pretty important game. It impacts a lot more people than Brown.

Difficult to play the game without a kicker. Seems unreasonable to expect Giants to cut him before game.
i would go for
Les in TO : 10/20/2016 5:01 pm : link
a local replacement who is a brother from another mother with our superstar wideout:

I imagine he willl kick for the Giants Sunday
AnnapolisMike : 10/20/2016 5:22 pm : link
And probably be suspended early next week. The Giants should let the process play out unless they have someone who will be able to kick for them on Sunday. The fact that it is in London....is probably a good thing.
Sorry Terry (I mean kinard)
Carl in CT : 10/20/2016 5:40 pm : link

There is no luck involved in this.

They completely earned whatever bad outcome(s) comes from this.
For now, I think you want someone
CT Charlie : 10/20/2016 6:04 pm : link
who's dependable from short yardage rather than someone with a monster leg who's inconsistent. So maybe one of the older guys might make sense.
