FF Thread 10-21

Thank you for the whopping 33 yards Alshon. You are now unstartable to me except for bye weeks. At least it's not a goose egg.

Hoyer out with broken arm. When is Cutler due back?

I feel bad for those starting Davis and Jackson

And F U to McCarthy for giving up and easy chip shot FG for Crosby that would've given him 12 points in my main league.

Really? I don't. I picked up David and then later dropped him. If someone started them that's poor management, IMO.

I went up against Howard so i'm stoked he was useless, and outplayed by Carey which I predicted earlier this week.

I have a chance to contend this week now which is remarkable considering my BYE's and injuries. I still don't think I win but atleast it will be interesting.
From the Better To Be Lucky Than Good Department...
VenteSette : 10/21/2016 8:45 am : link
I had Howard going. I have had a bad feeling about him all week, so at around 8 o'clock I pulled him and will probably roll with Britt as my flex. Britt has a tendency to go on some serious hot streaks. It's a net win if he can get 23 yards.

Guy I am playing against has Jordy Nelson, Crosby and Zach Miller. He ended up with only 9 points. Not sure how Crosby was going to get anybody 12. Didn't he miss a chip shot and an extra point? He netted 4 points in my league. The guy still has some horses left, OBJ among them, but I am in much better shape this morning than last.

That's their own fault for thinking a PS guy and a player acquired via trade with 1-2 practices were going to have any real value.

I added Davis in a couple leagues, but more for the next couple weeks than last night.

And I'm thrilled by the excellent performances of Nelson/Meredith last night! Basically goose eggs for their owners! (actually going against Rodgers/Davis/Nelson in one league).
I'm just glad
pjcas18 : 10/21/2016 8:49 am : link
I pulled Howard before the game. Not thrilled I'm replacing him with Yeldon, but I hope he'll outproduce those two points Howard got.

I need to decide on my flex now.

Michael Thomas @KC
Sterling Shepard @LA (London, Eli and Beckham already in lineup)
Kendall Wright vs IND
Dennis Pitta @NYJ

I think Thomas, but I'm keeping an eye on Beckham in case he doesn't play.
I had a very timely
SimpleMan : 10/21/2016 8:53 am : link
trade for Randall Cobb. He wasn't doing much, I gave up my Rashad Jennings for him, and in the 3 games since he has had at least 14.8 per game including over 23 last night (.5 PPR).
Had
BIG FRED 1973 : 10/21/2016 9:11 am : link
Montgomery and of course he gets tackled right before the goaline twice lol
I would go Thomas
VenteSette : 10/21/2016 9:13 am : link
I'm not in love with Wright and won't he be facing Vontae Davis? The Colts have been pretty effective against WR. I'd rather not rely on Mariota.

I would think Montgomery is the only one of the Packers "running backs" I might have taken a flier on, but Davis and Jackson? Davis already wasn't getting reps in practice and Jackson was way too unlikely to do anything. At least you figure they would get Montgomery some catches. I honestly probably should have picked him up as my flex instead of Britt.
I picked up Montgomery
pjcas18 : 10/21/2016 9:19 am : link
in my standard league.

he was on my bench.

Not a huge deal, I'm playing Allen Robinson as my flex, but he's a nice addition.

Hilton and Graham are my concerns in that league. Neither practiced on Thursday.
Thing with a guy like Montgomery
VenteSette : 10/21/2016 9:42 am : link
is that if you aren't going to play him now, you are never going to play him. I guess it is good to hold him in case he blows up, but they will eventually have a conventional RB take most of his duties. Probably sooner rather than later.

I look at him like Jordan Howard. They had a window where they were going to get a significant chunk of work. If they blow up they will stick. Howard is coming down to earth and I am not even sure how long I will hold on to him. Guys like Doug Martin and even Starks (in a couple of weeks) make more sense to hold IMO
I think Montgommery
UConn4523 : 10/21/2016 9:55 am : link
has another week as RB and that's probably it. He still only had 9 carries and Cobb had 4, and I'm guessing that has to due with Jackson leaving the game as well.

Davis didn't good but he will get carries after a full week of practice, i'm guessing the goaline work at a minimum. I'd rather get in on Starks and stash him than anyone else as far as RB's are concerned with the Packers.
Disagree on Montgomery
pjcas18 : 10/21/2016 10:02 am : link
he had 12 targets in the passing game against Dallas and 13 yesterday. True many were out of the backfield, but I don't think he's purely seen as a RB substitute or running game substitute.

I think they've been looking for ways to get him involved once he got healthy, and he's seized the opportunity.

I believe he'll get targets the rest of the way if he's healthy. He wasn't even activated from PUP until 2nd week of August.

Howard I do agree, he got a chance because he was the de facto next man up. and is now being outplayed by Carey. When Langford comes back even with a good offense/defense matchup I'd be hesitant to start Howard.
Jeremy Hill just got cut..
VenteSette : 10/21/2016 10:03 am : link
Hill vs. the Browns or Britt vs. the Giants? Not sure I should make the move. My team is RB heavy at this point.
Davis now has a week and a half
giants#1 : 10/21/2016 10:03 am : link
to 'learn the offense'. I think he'll see a lot more snaps/touches next week.

Though yesterday was arguably the best the Packers offense has looked all year so maybe they'll stick with the pass heavy attack.

Hill. CIN should blow them out and Hill is their 4th quarter RB to wear teams out.

I can see Jenkins shadowing Britt this week. DRC is better playing off the WR and reading the QB and thus he'll be on Austin.

Haha, your post made me go straight to my fantasy site and pick up their RB3. Thought you meant the Bengals cut him.
I should say
UConn4523 : 10/21/2016 10:07 am : link
attempt to pick him up until it dawned on my that you meant cut in your league.

That was my first reaction too. Luckily I read the next sentence 'Hill vs Browns' and did a double take.
Sorry fellas!
VenteSette : 10/21/2016 10:26 am : link
Haha! Didn't mean to cause a ruckus. I guess my post was not exactly artfully worded. I am in a 10 team league and people have what I consider strange rosters. Extra kickers and defenses - people with 3 TEs. They would probably say the same of my team which is basically devoid of a decent QB. I guess with Bernard playing well and getting carries at the goal line they felt it was time to cut him. I picked Gordon right before him in the 6th round.
Bernard's not even playing that well
giants#1 : 10/21/2016 10:32 am : link
3.4 ypc though he's a solid weapon catching the ball. And Bernard has only 1 TD this year (receiving). Hill's problem is they haven't really had any big leads and that's usually when he gets a good chunk of his carries. If they fall behind at all, he's basically benched and they're 2-4.

Hill's the prototypical RB that gets better as the game wears on and he gets 15-20+ carries. Hoping with CLE/WAS coming up he can find a groove.
McCoy
pjcas18 : 10/21/2016 10:54 am : link
practicing.

MF-er. I wish it was in or out. I picked up Gillislee.

I hate to have McCoy in there and have him on the sidelines after one play.

RBBC and GTD are the two worst acronyms for fantasy football fans.
Who Would You Start?
Anando : 10/21/2016 10:57 am : link
Jones vs Det
Jaquizz vs SF

Thanks!
Jaquizz

no question. He's the every down back right now up against one of the worst rushing defenses in the NFL.
Flex help. Standard.
Miami_JintsFan : 10/21/2016 11:07 am : link
Marshall vs Baltimore
Gillislee @ Miami

My running backs are:
wgenesis123 : 10/21/2016 11:22 am : link
Rashad Jennings
Spencer Ware
Isaiah Crowell
DeMarco Murray

Which 3 would you start?
Jaquizz
wgenesis123 : 10/21/2016 11:25 am : link
He will be the workhorse and the 49ers have given up a bunch of TD's to running backs the last couple weeks.

Murray for sure...
Leaning towards Crowell and Ware? Jennings may have trouble with the LA D.

I really don't like Jennings in fantasy, he can't stretch outside and has two other players to lose touches to. I'd play the other 3.
looks like Riddick is out

dropped DeAngelo (which kinda looks like it may be something serious) for Washington. Not sure if I'll play Washington, but i'll consider it depending on how the weekend reports go. If not, CJ Anderson + Booker it is, haha.
